What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Last night I decided that I would taste the recently harvested Pakistan Valley this morning so I went ahead and ground one average size mid buds. For once I'm happy that I now have another clone worthy of preserving. For a landrace indica she's very much a head hitter as my first feel was just at the eyebrow. I don't feel any back pain so maybe there's a bit of relief in this cultivar. I'd say the high lasts 3+ hours as I had a refresher at that time. It has a bit of harshness with only a one week cure. But I like a little cough sometimes as it will light one up with a fresh rush that just shuts my thoughts out and just brightens my face a bit. Taste is like a light bubble gum on exhale. It's good weed now. Gonna just get better with the cure.

OK. So I should show you what's growing now since I uploaded pics already. The clones are doing a bit better after some feedings of various things including some cal mag, Horsetail fern tea and a bit of Epsom salts. The PV clones still have that clawing usually attributed to too much N but I'm still not certain. 2 gallon softies will be here tomorrow so we'll see what up potting will do for these ladies. I'm pretty high and wordy today so I need a hot shower and some breakfast. Here's the pics...Have a great day.

Devils Carnival Day 7

You getting some cold temperatures in there Jim? I see the PV clones are sporting autumnal coloration.

I personally love that moment when I take the first taste of a recently-harvested cultivar and discover "Yeah......this girl was worth the effort." :slide: I've had a couple spectacular ones lately. :laughtwo: Watching the daughter take to the Jamaican has me wondering if there's really one out there that'd do at for me.

Not that I'm compalaining at all about the excellent produce I get to dip into, mind you. Anyone lucky enough to smoke Carnival has no room for complaining. :laughtwo: Come to think of it, I guess I did find my match. Two of them, as a matter of fact. On top of that I get to grow their combined offspring. Incidentally, it's really exciting to see a DC in your garden. :yahoo: I hope you get a purple one, but then again...... my green pheno was more potent than the purple, and you like yours to be fairly hard-hitters, so maybe not.

Jim....I love the fact that you start the day with a righteous buzz, the same way I do. :laughtwo: Glad to hear the PV carries some decent pain relief benefits too.:hug::hug:

Yeah...the PV clones starting getting those Autumnal colors when the weather finally changed here in beautiful eastern North Carolina around the same time I had that work done on my heating system. I'm thinking around Oct 20th. I was surely going to have a bad time with the clones if I hadn't started paying them some attention. I really did neglect them while I was just getting high and sitting in front of the bloom tent admiring those girls.

Oh and the Devils Carnival. I'm hoping this one expresses the Carnival as I've heard so much from you about how good it is. My seed germination rate is still ugly and I've decided to no longer use peat pellets. I'm going to drop seeds in my dirt once they show roots from the paper towels. While I bought them from the nursery that I deal with I think there's something wrong with the pellets. I'm just going to eliminate this step and go straight to the good stuff.

I am liking the look and sound of the Pakistan Valley. Sounds like a keeper.
Your ladies are beautiful Jim.

Cheers.

I'm just now coming down from this morning's PV high. The last toke was indeed 3 1/2 hours ago. I now know why breeders use a landrace indica for crosses. It's just such a pleasant high that is nothing like the poly-hybrid strains that seem to dominate our grows. Rest assured if I find a male I'll become Jim the pollen chucker and see what comes of it.

Yes Ditch....she's a keeper. :thanks:

And she just continues to impress.. is there no end to what this girl gives? Well there would be if I had my way :bong::bong::bong::bong::rofl:

Grizz...I remember back in college one of the guys who lived in the fraternity house had some indica and used to announce each night "Does anyone want to smoke a sleeping pill? So funny. It was good stuff but definitely would put you to sleep.

This stuff will dry your eyes and turn them into slits and I'm sure to find out some time today if it will put me to sleep. I actually think it will.

I'm just really impressed with it after only a week's cure. Not sure it's a daily smoker but this will breed so well. It's just hard to express the high. It's a good one. Maybe I should break out my bong...:bong::bong::bong::bong:

Jim
Super happy about your PV report.
Everything I hoped for you. Power and pain!
I really like my PCK x Kali China cross. I have often thought the Pakistani Chitral makes the cross more refined.
I find it to be unique in taste and smell. All good.
I really dig landrace crosses. I am still trying to nail down the perfect cross for my missus. She seems to like it all equally. I think she just likes to be stoned. :ciao:
I have been toying with a breeders pack from ace seeds. But, I need to run some of my regular seeds that I already have, got to make room for new stock. I do like making seeds.
I could run 50/50 indica/sativa landrace cross and never get bored, I hope.
So glad I stopped by. Great nite Jim

:

Try soaking seeds in filtered water with a dash of hydrogen peroxide overnight, then straight into soil. Likely the paper towels are the issue - chemicals in the paper to make them clean and white looking.

I'm a fan of the peat pellets.... I've had a string of bad luck then a string of 100% germination... so I'm the variable! Over water, under water, too cold, too hot... geeeze... easy to mess up. Seedlings are the hardest part for me.

I also like to use cups with soil... I get a little weird about popping seeds... the lunar cycle and there's days to sprout and not sprout.. every time things don't turn out I take a look at my celestial calendar and wonder WTF... maybe there's something to it!?? Then there's that Mercury in retrograde thing..... until 12/22

I may give the hydrogen peroxide trick a try if current plans don't work out. I have Labyrinth in this last go. I'll check the paper towels tomorrow morning.

I tried the last new moon and got 2 of seven with 2 still possible. Maybe this Mercury thing....I just don't know.

It seems my whole weekend involved church activities. Saturday I helped the ramp ministry build a handicapped ramp for an old fellow who really needed it. It turns out his wife fell last weekend and broke her hip and now it will assist two people. Everyone is blessed.

The Christmas Cantata was presented by the Adult and Carol (our youth) choirs. Lots of new voices joined the choirs for this event and deserved the standing ovation from the audience. Amen!

Temperatures Saturday never got above 40 F and I was given the job of sanding the hand rails which brought some severe discomfort for my shoulder Saturday night. The treatment was comfrey salve and Pakistan Valley. There's some pain relieving power right there.

I did tell you that I feel so smart about cloning that one. My jars smell like hard candies of all flavors. It's sweet in the jar and I now understand a little about how the indica mixes so well in earlier hybrids.

Seed Project

Last week I went to the nursery and picked up some cheap 3 inch plastic pots and trays and sowed the remaining Ultra Dawg f2 seeds, a Labyrinth gifted from Bobrown14 and a cross I produced earlier this year using a Fast n Vast x Master Kush male and the Panama (green pheno) that I grew last year. Cannafan bred the FVxMK and the one I grew out last year (or was it earlier this year) was a male that I let mature outside. Anyway, I did get a few seeds from pollinating the Panama and I can only imagine what comes of this.

The little pots were filled with my mix as I've given up peat pellets for the time being. 4 of the FVxMKxPam are up and running. One of the pots got two seeds and both of them are up. I don't know when I might separate them. The Labyrinth is in the process of breaking soil which really makes me happy. I so want to grow this one as Bobrown's are so pretty. I can already see how this is going to be so much fun.

New 5 gallon softies came in last week and they'll be used as final pots when we go to bloom.

Two plants came up here. There was one pot that got two seeds but this was't the pot I labeled that way. Probably my mistake unless two come up in this last pot. Who knows? I'm confident I was high when all this seed sowing was done.

That's all I have for now folks. It's supposed to be warm here today and tomorrow. There's one more ramp to build tomorrow. Last one of the year. It should be fun. Have a great day!

Thanks Ditch. Great news today. I've really struggled with germination here lately. But I decided to plant another round of seeds in my own soil and went 7 for 7. 100%...Every freakin seed popped and are up and running. I'm excited.

The last two UDs came up but haven't developed true leaves yet so Day 0 for them...maybe others. I'll get it all sorted when I make some journal entries. I've given all the small pots some fish and humic acid. So many opportunities for a treasure to be discovered.

I am so freakin excited to grow one of every strain. So hopefully once we get through sexing we'll get at it.

PS: I might be duplicating things from yesterday but I'm pretty high here. Pakistan Valley is bad weed. Bad bad weed.

I forgot whose thread I was on yesterday and they were discussing joints. I hadn't rolled one lately so I rolled two Pakistan Valley buds in one of those RAW giant papers using a machine. The herb is so sticky I could hardly draw through it to begin with. It's really quite nice and I may roll up more for the Holidays.

Can't complain with them odds.. naughty PV..

High Grizz...and most are regulars. I hope to have good luck on females. I've seen your struggles over there.

Lol. The joint is big enough that you could write your
name on it with the Sharpie.

Cheers.

Ha! I didn't think of that. I finished it this morning. Way back when I would save those little roaches, cut the paper off and smoke that in a bowl. This one got dumped in the trash with the cigarette butts.

and she is naughty :lot-o-toke:

:laughtwo: OK..... That was a good way to come onto the site for the day.

Good morning, oh magical one. :kisstwo:

Oh, by the way, quite the nursery you have going there. A little heads up....both UD and DC are the most fragrant chemovars I've grown in my short career. Prepare to be blasted in flower. :laughtwo:

Speaking of blasted with fragrant aromas....I just read this on a friend's Facebook page:

I was in a Starbucks Coffee recently when my stomach started rumbling and I realized that I desperately needed to fart. The place was packed, but the music was really loud so to get relief and reduce embarrassment I timed my farts to the beat of the music. After a couple of songs I started to feel much better. I finished my coffee and noticed that everyone was staring at me. I suddenly remembered that I was listening to my Ipod (with ear piece) - and how was your day?

(This is what happens when old people start using technology!)
