Pakistan Valley looked so good I entered her in a beauty contest. I sure hope it will make fine medicine. We shall see.

Blue Dream S1 was jarred up this afternoon and in my mind was about right. 47.1 grams. I've graded that grow at about 45% of its potential. One topping and about 4 more cuts and she would have had some branches and and and... But I wanted to grow a tree one time and now I know.

I've also come to the conclusion that I shouldn't even attempt to grow anything during June, July, August and September. I really should do some traveling and perhaps some fishing. But all that's something to contemplate during the cold winter days.

I forgot what the weight was on the other BD S1s that I grew in hempy and in the 1 gal soil pot. It's only one pint jar. Anyway, I smoked from that jar this morning after only 2 weeks curing. It's just as powerful as the parent as I recall. It's still a little harsh in the back of the throat but the favor is real nice reflecting the blueberry side. It should cure out nicely with some sweet terpenes.

:bongrip:

Wow, those PV pics are amazing, you hit the jackpot there MagicJim. Just bountiful harvest after harvest. And the cute little cat dish on the counter, suspecting cute animal(s) close by. REPS for the outstanding job. Most excellent!!!:Namaste:

 I started feeding my cats on the kitchen table about 20 years ago. At that time I had ants that would get into the food if I had it on the floor.

:thanks: for the kind words and the reps.

Blue Dream clone got jarred up this morning. Yield was 72.5 grams. Buds were nice and sweet with no grassy smell. I will have to burp the jars a bit this week.

Also...while it hurt a little to do it, I culled 1 BD clone and 1 PV clone from the veg tent. Left me 2 of each which I think is enough for now. I'm still hoping I'll get more than 1 UD seedling.

Well done mate.. :passitleft:

Congrats on the buddage... always good to jar up some homegrown goodness! That PV really liked getting her picture taken.

GL with the contest and thanks for the heads up, I'll wait till next month to enter a pic or 3.

I'm glad the S1 experiment worked out for you. You gave me the inspiration to try that out on my DTs.

Pakistan Valley was jarred this morning at 57.4 grams. It seems the closer I move to organic the yield suffers and I'm ok with that. What grinds on me is that these buds were just light to the hand. More leaves than calyx so that ratio is not good. Oh well. I'll just try to work on controlling the environment better.

Again I probably shouldn't bloom plants during the hottest months and I'll run more bat and seabird poop in bloom.

I had written some other stuff that I wanted to bitch about but it's better to just move on and show you some bud pics.

Smoking a variety bowl today. Chemdawg, Blue Dream and Jack Herer. Woo hoo :bongrip:

Well done mate.. re growing in hot,one thing on the positive, airy is better than air, can't smoke that which is not there  but on the serious, there's strain to grow at these times and lighting to use. Tropical sats under mh/veg lighting could go to help with some heat issues.. hempy has some good reads on the topic (if they are still there)

Thanks Grizz :passitleft:

Right that you can't smoke that which is not there. I should try to protect my lungs better. Actually, I do. I take a capsule of infused oil almost every day and ingestibles get me pretty high for long periods and I like that. I still have never taken more than one per day.

It's time for me to begin setting the team. Devils Carnival arrived yesterday and had a root busting through the peat pellet so I buried it in a 1 gallon so she can get her grow on. I'm currently running 4th generation soil and I'm sure I was really high when I blended it. I thought I was a little late on the mix but it was right on time. I turned it 4 times on a tarp and other than that I forgot where the notes are.

DC joins UltraDawg #1 and I'm still trying to coax UD #2 to life. She was upside down and I dug her up to help her. She's green but still has her head on that pillow of peat. We will soon see if it was wise to intervene in her way of doing things.

Winter Grow 2017-2018

I always hope to chronicle a grow that meets my humble expectations. That's my hope. Everything is now running in what I called at a time the Neglected Tent. I hope not to neglect or over love the plants within.

I guess it was a couple days ago that I planned to cull UD #2 and saw some green. I'm still not sure if I've done what was best for her. She seems to still be alive and when I blow up a photo I see plenty of moisture. Heck I might be killing her with water. She is still alive and still greenish and there's no telling what might become of this. If she's a fighter then I'll help all I can. It could be I'll help too much.

Today I gave her six drops of fish fertilizer and humic acid. For me it's also an experiment. I'll be very deliberate about letting her dry out a bit.

Devils Carnival Quite a perfectly beautiful start.

UD #1 She's close to the point when I would top but I plan to top enough for a clone. I may also experiment with removing the bottom two leaves and that first set of branches very early in her life. Only if I can remember.

It's been cold and raining here last two days. Even had a few flakes and a wintry mix for a few minutes yesterday. My outdoor cat is not loving it. She's 8 years old and prefers to stay outside but came in twice yesterday. We'll see if she alters her needs this winter.

Blue Dream in my bowl this morning. It's just a powerful high for me when I start the day with BD. :bongrip: What I've smoked for the past few months have been lower buds and budlets from my Jan 2017 harvest. What I ground up yesterday was the last of that jar and the Boveda package was dry. The ground weed is pleasantly humid enough. Life is good!

Yeah I really dig the BD buzz, and I am loving the look of my BD, I wish I had some more to puff. Luckily I have a bunch of gorilla glue #4 to keep me entertained

.

I'm so naive to so many of these strains but GG#4 would be mine if I had an unlimited seed budget. My first grow was bag seed and my next was Jack Herer and White Widow. I'm a bit spoiled by that and I don't even smoke much WW any more. Now spoiled by Chemdawg and Blue Dream.

I just finished sifting some BD kief. I would have sifted more but my shoulder is starting to hurt a bit and I'm having spasms in my upper right arm. So kief it is then for pain relief of course. I've been busy doing nearly nothing this morning but I did have some breakfast and a pot of coffee.

I'm just real high this morning. Very thankful that I don't have to drive anywhere. Gotta get over to your GR and see what you have going on.

That ^^^^ looks interesting... I hope she makes it but not holding breath. Looks like trichomes there.... I've never seen that before other than on a mature plant that was polyploid... (nothing but white pistols for flowers).

Congrats on the harvest of the PV... that looks great to me. You did mighty fine. Some buds are airy some are dense. I'd rather grow the airy buds in the summer time. I grew the dense stuff in summer and always had mold to deal with, which sucks. I hate to throw good weed in the compost.

What's up with the mothers you have going?... Droopy and Saggy.... you need some larger pots?? I've got a Chemdawg in VEG for like 5 months, no matter what I do, she's droopy the next day have to water her every day too which I hate ... nothing I can do cept up-pot her into a larger container and get her into flower. Some plants just don't like hanging out in VEG for very long... I'm terrible at nursing older plants in VEG.

You mentioned better yields. Bigger pots help I think. I use 7.5gal plastic containers with btm watering.... the difference from 5gal to 7.5gal for me makes a big difference for the genetics I'm going with. I have that Chem in a 5gal pot and she's pissed... her twin sister is in flower in a 7.5gal and she's getting big and happy. She's still only 4' tall.. only so much flower on a 4' tall plant. Those DTs I'm running are 8' tall.. 2x the yield @ twice the size. Genetics...

I should get you a cut of the DT Monster and you cross it with one of your BDs.... = BD Monster!!

Came over to see what you have going on. Those Paki buds sure looked good. :Namaste:

Thanks for stopping by BL. I'm delighted with the buds so far. I don't have a great sense of smell but I enjoy burping the jars every day.

A lot going on and looking good Jim. Great job.

Cheers.

I'm still questioning my sanity at times. UD #2 - If it had been UD #4 she'd been tossed out the back door.

Yep. The mothers were quite neglected for a while and received a sporadic splash of water every now and then. I lifted the one BD that looks halfway decent and gave her some new soil at the bottom and pot edges and watered her well this morning. Yes she is root bound and so are the others. All got clipped and trimmed a few days ago. I looked at new 3 gallon softies but didn't buy yet. 2 gallon pots might be better if it becomes crowded.

The BD tree grow which was also just harvested taught me a good lesson. Tent is 7 ft. That plant reached 62 inches. With the exhaust fan occupying some head room, she grew past the light. At best I might be able to squeeze a few inches for the light if hung a little tighter. So my inclination is to go back to 5 gallon softies. Yeah, it restricts the yield but it just felt right.

Oh well. I'll make a decision about the upkeep of the moms here soon as I'm sure mine don't like perpetual vegging.

Now that DT that makes me salivate. I'm not really having much germination success here as the other 2 UDs might be duds. I'll be generous with more time for them and 2 more DCs that are in peat pellets. So next up will be that Labyrinth.

I’d like to follow along quietly, if you don’t mind, Jim.

Well....quietly following is ok. I wouldn't mind it at all. Thanks for dropping in and please just ask if you need to know anything.

Things are quiet here. My moms/clones are not doing much more than surviving which is really all I expect them to do but I wish they looked happier.

I culled the one UD seedling that was growing all funny and started all over on seeds. I'm not going to jinx myself again so I'll just report when they sprout. They're just lying around now in paper towels between two plates.
