The team is looking great Jim.

Cheers.

I need a big phat one. :passitleft:

Early Saturday morning I discovered the outlet pipe from my water heater spraying a fine mist. Let's hope the floor does not collapse. Anyway, I turned the water off and headed to Lowe's Home Improvement store for a fix. $12 later I was one the way back home to see if I have any plumbing skills.

I had to remove one stinking nut connecting a copper elbow and screw a new piece on and make one other connection and I would be done and dusted (or maybe done and mopping up.)

In a somewhat cramped area I was unable to even loosen the nut. I treated it with some Liquid Wrench which is a penetrating oil and waited a few minutes for it to do it's job.

Then I returned and ripped some things in my shoulder but got the nut off. Pain level right now is 5 on a 10 scale and I've had some spikes up to the SCREAM level. Range of motion is terrible at best.

You should know that this is my right shoulder, my good shoulder as I had two surgeries on my left shoulder in 2014.

Saturday night was not good and I didn't get much sleep. I've been caring for my friend's dog this weekend so she could go to a wedding. Anyway, Sunday I was able to water the girls but they won't be coming out again for photos. I took some pics but did you know they build cameras with all the operating devices on the right side.

I have an appointment today with a good local orthopaedic surgeon. I'll keep you posted of course and I sure hope I can get these girls to a finish here. Typing is difficult but I'll put some information out.

Fresh NC Sweet Potatoes

I feel your pain brother, I suffer with the same in my right shoulder, docs still say surgery isn't an option and insist I continue with physio. I hope your doc has a brain and sorts it quickly.
:passitleft:

High Mr A. Yeah...seems like you've had that bad shoulder ever since I've known you. My first doc 3 years ago sent me to get MRI after the first visit. It showed all the damage that I pretty much knew was there. This guy was a little more cautious and gave me a Kenalog-40 injection. It's a synthetic glucocorticoid corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory action; whatever that is. He did tell me about how he does the surgery which lets me know that it's a possibility.

I'm just to do some icing and pendulum swings and see him again in 3 weeks. I'm really not interested in having another surgery so going slow right now is ok.

Ouch Jim ;( Sending healing vibes your way. :rollit:

Thank you so much young lady...You're the best.

Mine has been an issue for about 6 years now. Doc gave me a steroid injection into the joint twice in the last 2 years and a physio session every month since. Some days are better than others but there are some days where I struggle to lift my arm luckily they don't happen often. I learned my limitations.

:passitleft:

Glad to hear it shouldn't need surgery. Take care of yourself J.

Well....I'm always skeptical with the Medical profession. First time I've met this doctor and I'm not completely sure my health is at the top of the list. He might just be cautious. I've still got quite a level of pain here and I still need to ice the shoulder again. I'm not a very good patient either as I lifted one of those plants this morning so I could tend to the ones in the rear. Silly me...I smoked another bowl. Gonna do one of those opioids soon too.

:passitleft:

6 years is a long time to being dealing with something that seems to be getting no better though monthly physical therapy. Socialized medicine means everyone in the health care system benefits? I don't know....just thinking out loud.

Limitations. I struggle with this knowing that there certainly are things I can no longer do. I was so pissed Saturday when I hurt myself that I tossed around the idea of just getting rid of all my tools. My dad gave me a tool box and started my tool collection when I was about 8 years old. So some of this stuff has age. Thought also about selling my little car. Shifting with this arm right now is out of the question.

Anyway...we'll see what the doc says in 3 weeks. Based on what I feel right now, I bet we move forward with an MRI. The radiologist report will be in control then.

Flip + 34 Days - Blue Dreams and Pakistan Valley

I have a friend that sees green better than blue so I'll change up. I need some type of change. Need to adjust my attitude a bit. I've been growling like a bear for a few days. Fooked up shoulder will do that to ya.

I had to water the big girls again today as I don't want them to dry out. So I moved the hempies out and tugged the indica out to water the ones in the rear. I moved BD from my S1 seed over to the right side so we can see her better. BD clone doesn't mind. She's doing very well and stacking her buds nicely.

Just a photo dump as my arm doesn't like to type any more today....unless I see something that deserves a comment.

It's not my best photography. Stuff just isn't working out for me right now and affecting everything I do. It'll get better though.

Well...the shoulder is better. Maybe tendons, ligaments and muscle can become healthy again.

I've decided to dose up the hempy girls. I mixed them some Foxfarm nutes and added a little Hydroguard that is out of date. Hydroguard contains Bacillus Amyloliquefaciens but the label says their life not guaranteed beyond expiry. I bet some of the little critters are still alive. No doubt hempies will benefit from some bacterial action to assist the roots in getting the nutrients that they need.

So I really wanted to test the hempies with only the Osmocote + but I'd also like to harvest something out of this corner of the tent. Based on some some information I've recently read on Osmocote + dosing I'm likely running mine a little light on nutes; therefore the liquid nutes today. PPM tested at 471 so it really is a light formula. Just for the record....I don't give a crap about yield. I'm into calyx development. I'm not ready for any boosters but I'd like to see swelling within the flower.

All the other tent girls seem to be ok today. Flowers are developing and I noticed some browning pistils on the landrace indica. Harvest said to be 50 to 55 days so she might act accordingly. Only concern I have with that is the reduced light spectrum I'm running to control temps.

Crap....some of my pictures were stuck in a gap in the universe.

Blue Dream from S1 seed. All of these are Flip + 35 days. Stretch finally complete now with a few inches to spare. The top bud is about 5 inches above the LED on the left.

Have a great day folks. Share a smile with someone today.

I've almost totally neglected my overflow tent. Splash a little straight water when I think of it. I've dried several of them to the point that I'm not really proud of them. Yesterday if I hadn't looked in there I guess I could have lost one.

I took the variegated girl out this morning to groom the undercarriage. She really has been a trooper throughout all this and has provided two clones. I just wish I had a spot in the bloom room. She's suffered a bit of heat stress along with the stress from haphazard irrigation.

The one packaged as Jack Herer but we all know it's something else. Day 79 and still in veg.

Hempies are all Blue Dream - Flip + 40

I knew I wanted to feed the hempies this morning so they all came out of the tent. I have to get them and the small soil grow out to move the big girls around to check for their needs. The big girls are a mixed bag of slightly dry to damp soil so I'll feed them tomorrow.

I love the hempy growing. It reminds me of a part of my professional career when I got my first true management role within the bank I was working with during the late 1970s. Hempies and that first profit center are a microcosm of something larger. I decided to supplement their Osmocote + with some Foxfarm Big Bloom and Tiger Bloom. Both high in P and K which should bulk up the flowers slightly. Observation is just hard to measure and I'm just hoping that I'll see improvement. This is half strength mix and I'll keep checking leaf ends for any burn. I'd like to see something telling me that I've done the right thing.

While I'm thinking about growing cannabis, I'll share with you one video from CannaTech 2017 from a guy named Bill Levine with a company known as CannaRx. Anyway, the part that interested me was when he talked about the plant. He said: "The quality standards need to be raised. OTOH, we're dealing with an unbelievable complex plant that varies within the same genomic strain from two different green houses. In fact it varies within the same plant when buds are harvested from the bottom of the plant to the top of the plant."

Anyway...this statement was made about 1 minute mark. These guys are making cannaceuticals as opposed to pharmaceuticals. It's interesting to me that we can influence the end product by grow method, lighting, nutrient levels, environment and harvest window.

The pictures also include the 1 gallon soil grow. Buds and internodal length are in my mind better than its comparable hempy.

Stage. Man it's good. Temperature this morning dipped to 46 F outside. Inside the tents from the 81 - 82 F levels to 73 F both tents. I fed them some fresh nutes, rearranged them a bit and turned the full spectrum on. Lack of light. But I've also discovered that I shouldn't be growing above the 5 gallon pot.

Now I do have some ideas about the use of larger pots for specific strains. I have the Mars Hydro Mars II 900 at the top of the tent and my plants went there chasing what little protons that were produced only running the reds and blues in the bloom spectrum there. I've tried hard not to learn much about lights but I can tell lack of light by what the plant does.

Oh well my friend. It's been a strange summer / fall grow that's really now beginning to get interesting. These hempies are doing some things that I'm real happy about although it's in miniature. They're showing some interesting lower growth but only on the smaller pots. Anyway...I'll go through the pictures from this morning and post some later.

77 F in the full spectrum bloom tent after 1.5 hours. Upper 70s outdoors not to return until Friday....It will get normal soon.

Good to see you Stage.

Well...I guess I just got hung up on hempies this morning yet my objective was to feed the big soil girls. Well, mission accomplished on the feeding and next up for them will be an EWC tea....I think.

But the hempies got my interest as I sat in front of the tent for my wake n bake this morning. :bongrip: Blue Dream in my bowl. :bongrip: All the pollen I have in my freezer is BD. Expect some BD crosses out of my next venture.

The bottom flowers of the small hempy pots are developing nicely and I don't see this in the large hempy. The smaller ones are clones of the larger one's parent. Larger is seed grown plant. Smaller ones sit on a ~ 6 inch box therefore getting slightly more light on the lower portion of the plant. In any event I got a little excited. Perhaps because Blue Dream. I so hope the seed plant will live up to my final product expectations. It would be a shame if child isn't at least equal to the parent.

They look like they'd tip over easy? Looking good Jim..:passitleft:

Hey there MJ... I got interested in this journal and your S1 routine, and cause you're a genuine nice guy, so I started reading and reading .... took me a few daze but I'm all caught up!

Ordered my silver nitrate and Sodium Thiosulfate off amazon.. Interesting how they both show up together in the section "Frequently bought together".

Anyhow... yeah now sub'd for the S1 harvest! You're doing great and its nice to see that tall S1 plant and running up past the lights. You can tie her down if you want to but meh... too much work for me, as I'm feeling that (kinda) pain with tall plants. I don't top or rarely... so I get those tall phenos from time to time.

Was interested also in your pathology report on your skin thing?? I'm a fellow skin cancer survivor..had Mohs surgery done on me ... came out the back end of that with 75 stitches on one side of my neck and another 95 stitches on the side of my face... looked like Frankenstein for a few days. Just found another spot on my shoulder... this one is serious. Not round and fast grower... heading to the Skin doc Monday... Man those skin doctors get all giddy when they have a scalpel in hand. It's kinda crazy looking to watch.

All your ladies look spectacular... well not sure about that JH there... did you move her to flower or are you still vegging her? That plant wouldn't make it to the 4th node around me! I have one now that looks like that and she's at the 3rd node and just put out a flower... weird. That stuff makes me nervous. Plants have viruses...

Sorry to hear about your shoulder. I may have something for you. I'm a swimmer, as in go to the YMCA and swim a lot of laps almost every day. Shoulder injuries are very common with swimmers. I have a shoulder that bothers me from time to time. Rotator is crackly when I circle my arm over my shoulder and I have to be careful about my swim form as it can get sore enough I won't be able to raise my arm let alone swim.

Here's what I do.. stretch of course before use, and I also use Comfrey infused salve. My wife made some in Bees Wax that I can rub in on my shoulder. It works, pain goes away, helps with swelling and I get better performance. The stuff is amazing. I've used it on my big toe where a foot doc injected me with steroids that actually made my toe joint stiffer and harder to use over the long haul. Put some Comfrey salve on my toe.... almost immediately I have better mobility and no pain.. (need my toe flexibility to do turns swimming).

Comfrey is one of those plants that humans have been using for thousands of years as a medicine, food for livestock, green manure etc.. there's lots of ways to use it. One of them is for healing and muscle treatments. If you're interested hit me off list with a PM and I can send you some salve. We grow comfrey (bocking 14 version its sterile) and we have a big supply. It works... and I'm one of those skeptical folks when it comes to traditional healing/treatment. After going the modern route (doctors) with my toe and shoulder, going with traditional medicine has made much more positive results. Best of all no need for surgery (skin treatments I'm all for the scalpel... get that off of me). So yeah hit me off list if you're interested....

Cheers & KIG!

Chemdawg - FTW! I bought Chemdawg seeds and Blue Dream seeds the same order back in 2015.... popped one seed of the Chemdawg... still running it! hahaha Haven't got to the BD yet! I'm thinking of changing that looking at your S1 grow! Great job.
