What's In Jim's Grow Room?

Wow Bo...I'm impressed at all the things you recapped. Yep...the Blue Dream S1 seed plant is a tall wopper. This is the first time I've grown in 7.5 gallon softies so even if I don't fill the pots to the brim there's so much more soil there.

I looked at the pathology report but never actually requested a copy. 19 stitches for me. I really can't image all the stitches you had but if it was neck and face they would have been in a tighter pattern. My first was on the jaw line and the PA who took the stitches out kept saying "Look at this....just look at this beautiful work. 21 years later I have no scar. She was a super surgeon.

JH still vegging away....with no room in the bloom tent.

As soon as I get caught up on a few other things I'll shoot you a PM. Shoulder is better today. It almost feels normal at times.

Thanks for stopping over. :bongrip:

Take him up on the comfrey salve Jim. That's one powerful herb. It'll knit broken bones back together like new.

I read you're noticing that the smaller hempy pots are producing what could be considered superior product, while the larger pots create longer branches? I've been giving this some thought too. I was preparing to transplant the Blue Dream S1 and thought twice about it. This time around I want to see what I can get out of a smaller pot.

The larger plants are pretty, no denying it, but the name of the game is dense buds with great potency, loaded with trichomes.

You have me thinking again of how to use the nutrients to get preferred terpene expressions. My soil Carnivals have more limonene expression than the hempy ones, or their expressing a different tone of limonene. Hmmm...... maybe that's what's really going on. This is all still so new to me. A couple more harvests of Carnival and I'll have more understanding.

Your garden is beautiful. Your devotion shows, as does the neglect in the overflow tent. Don't beat yourself up too much, they'll probably give you better smoke. :laughtwo: It's all about controlled neglect. You didn't realize you were doing it right, did you? Lol!

Are you using a topical for the muscle healing?

I noted some leaf damage on the hempy girls so I might have just screwed the pooch. I'll flush them tomorrow morning to see if help. I'm hopeful of both lower and upper bud development there. It's just so odd to have 3 large plants in there and then 4 hempies in that corner...They're just miniatures. I know the buds will be smaller but don't mind harvesting them as I just love fresh buds.

Terpenes...you know.

Pistils are in full on retreat on the Pakistan Valley and of course I moved it last weekend to the back of the tent. I have a moving project tomorrow so I can pull a taster and look at trichomes.

PM sent to Bobrown....I'd like to try the comfrey.; [Well...that was quick]

I'm like you, I like the buds fresh. I've decided that after the buds get past a certain, as yet undetermined age they'll be best used in the making of oils. I do so prefer the fresh terpenes when I'm smoking, and I don't see me ever giving up my bong. :battingeyelashes:

Comfrey is a wonderful plant to have on the property. Then you'd have easy access to the roots, which are tremendously medicinally valuable. You can pick a few leaves, crush them in your hands to release the essential oils, and apply directly to damaged skin or bruised or sprained muscles. Creams made with the essential oils will heal warts, and they don't call it Knitbone for nothing.

You could order some comfrey root from the rain forest and make a police that may solve your entire issue with the shoulder. I have some extra, if you're interested. A small envelope would give you enough for an entire treatment of a couple weeks. You game?

I planted a comfrey by an apartment my brother once rented down the road, and I still swing by that yard to grab a few leaves now and then, or to dig up a few roots. It's an excellent garden amendment too, one of the best. You can do an entire cannabis grow, start to finish, feeding the plant nothing but comfrey drenches and plain water. I've seen it done.

I'm just not familiar with comfrey at all although I've heard about using it as an amendment or tea or whatever. Bo will be sending some salve so I'll see what that does. Maybe I should grow my own.

The hempies were taken out this morning for a thorough flush. Since I noticed a very slight leaf damage I'm back to running these without any additional nutrients.

All the rest. The little taster I took off this morning from PV either has a freakishly swollen calyx with totally brown pistils or it might be a seed. I haven't noticed any unusual male parts but I guess some bud somewhere might have hermied. Assorted photo dump follows:

One day I may grow her...one day.

I was thinking about you this morning. All this tall stuff in my tent and I feel like I've lost control and then think of your grow space. I guess it's ok. We somehow manage to get a crop in.

One more time I took a few plants out of the tent to rearrange a bit. BD S1 in rear is tied to the carbon filter so she'll stay there until harvest. I wanted to get the PV up front since I feel she'll be the first to come down but you never know. World of Seeds gives it 45 to 55 days. Tent is starting to smell so sweet. Anyhow, I took PV out and got some photos. I should pay attention to the camera settings and I hope you'll enjoy the pics.

Hempies were moved for their little photo opportunity. Soil grown BD S1 seed plant included for the comparison with the 1 gallon BD S1 hempy. They really are cute.

The neglected overflow tent. There's only the one seed plant which was packaged as Jack Herer. Clones of everything I have here are also in there. Just to show you how neglected they are I show you what one of the PV clones looked like early yesterday and two hours after I gave her some water. You can't run a grow without water. I know this. Sometimes I'm just trifling.

Have a great day folks. Give thanks for your blessings and share a smile with someone today.

Water is a basic necessity Jim. :laughtwo: Don't you love the way they bounce back though?

I learned with my recent harvests that the tree shape may be something that works outdoors, but indoors it doesn't work for me. All those branches and leaves, and two harvest in a row barely made an ounce dried. Today's harvest of Carnival may be closer to three ounces, a much more acceptable development, and testimony to what one gains from topping and training.

MJ youre gonna love her (Tut) when you do. ;)
I first stalked her when Light Addict won POTY with her.
This is two puffs and your in there herb.
BTW...smoking on some Bodhi Bingo Pajama.

Pick one or any to break the apical dominance.
Indoors, xmas trees are a no no. :passitleft:

Looking good Jim, pv, she's still an absolute stunner mate. What type of scent is she giving off? Hope your well bro :passitleft:

I had a real busy morning getting water ready for these girls and when I was finished I finally got my shower. Only after a shower is my head clear enough to give you some idea what the fragrance might be. Pakistan Valley is sweet melon berry. There is only a hint of pine and some lemon... It is all quite sweet with perhaps a whiff of ammonia.

If I had to guess....it's just going to get sweeter (think riper).

I'm jealous of those colas man, PV and BD. Beautiful ladies man.

Hope that Comfrey helps. I may try that myself, thanks all :Namaste:

Thanks Care...I have them all on a straight water diet. PV was leaning over a bit this morning I guess getting a bit heavier. We shall see.

I've actually been using a hand salve for years that contains comfrey along with a bunch of other stuff. I'm looking forward to trying Bo's wife's product. :bongrip:

Girls everywhere were watered yesterday. They're starting to stink up the place. I think the watering brings a greater aroma back there. I put PV up in the front because I thought it might be the first to be harvested. Now I'm not sure. The BD clone in the rear may be ready sooner. It's just down to watching pistils whether they are finishing or continuing to grow fresh ones.

Just mostly bud pictures today. The crispy leaves are from the S1 seed plant growing near that light. Similar crispiness on hempies from who knows what. Some team shots and a few under the red blues of the LED.

After viewing all of that, I certainly will Jim. :hugs: You're making me all excited about watching my own BD. :slide: Trimming her back worked beautifully.

I was looking at her this morning thinking this may be the chemovar that makes a regular appearance in my grow. So far we're a really good fit. Can't wait to try some CCO with her.

I certainly haven't tried a great number of cannabis strains. But all that is a blur. I can't really rank those in my memory.

But....of those I've grown Blue Dream and Chemdawg are my absolute favorites right now.

All my oil is Blue Dream and I have one capsule daily usually around noon. At first I thought the capsules too strong but I think my body just needed some time to acclimate to some oil. Did one at noon today and here it is 1 and half hours later and I'm in my zone. I'll be good until 7 pm or so. I'll have the munchies too.

Sue, I think you'll like BD. I so hope the making of the seeds didn't change anything about the strain (sativa dominant). As you know, so much of this process is grower dependent and you have those skills. I love the way that canopy is shapely but not necessarily uniform. Has anyone ever gotten one perfect?
