Welcome To My New Journal - OMMSOG

Hi Jandre. :thumb:

Yep, I give them 24 hours of darkness and then flip em into flower. That's cool you start your count a day later. What ever works for us! So your doing the GLR.......The lights go off for short periods here and screws up my timers, so I don't do it. Hope your feeling good! :high-five:

Not short periods... Basically it's 12/12 but with lights on halfway through the dark period for an hour.

12 on
5.5 off
1 on
5.5 off
Rinse - Repeat

wow i was off for less than 24 hrs and it grew 2 pages you journal is a hoppin place omm

It's fine by me....It's the great folks like you that make it good. :Namaste:

Hey there OMM! super nice job on the defoliation :thumb:

Happy Firday the 13th EVERYONE!

I have done it before and my plants have turned out great, but on the other hand I have not done and they turned out great and on the other other hand (I know to many hands - LOL) I have done it and a few strains did not like it.
Either way I think it all comes down to your personal enviro setup and the stains do matter as well. I am not going to that this round with the ones I have in there now. Sure I will take the occasional leaf or 2 from them and a tuck here or there, but no defoliation this time.
I sure am digging the lst action I have doing, which I had not done before.
GREAT job OMM!

:peace:

Day 21.....Defoliation Day

The last year or so it has become a consensus by most of the growers on 420 to defoliate our plants on the 21st day of flower and then later on the 45th day we do it again. This first defoliation has the purpose of removing fan leaves that are covering bud sites. The more light, the more buds and better buds. :high-five:

The following pictures are of my girls before and after the defoliation.

Here we go!

Well there you have it. Another reason we defoliate is the plant uses the energy normally given to maintaining the fan leaves is now given to the bud sites. Any questions fire away! :thumb:

Note, yes I raised the lights for the Lemon Skunk and Lucy. :surf:

I had to laugh when I saw Lucy in the sky....:goodjob::circle-of-love:

WoooWhooooo! MS! :thumb:
Your last statement said it all ! You are lovin what your doing right now! :high-five:

Man, that's great, I am too, The Growers choice on the rest. I've had good luck both ways too. This time you are doing your way and it's working! :bravo:

Your Plants look fantastic. All those lightbulbs seem to really do the trick. My 1000W is very imbarrassed right now!! LOL!!

I am still confused about the Cohorts. It is funny too! It does not surprise me either. Unfortunately we are a country that loves policing the world.:goodjob:

Great great journal and wonderful quick tutorials you give here! I'll be following from now on. I know, I bit of missed the train :) But on the other hand it gets even more excited day by day as it seems!

I have a quick jump-back-question, I hope you do not mind answering: I followed up your journal and found some very interesting thoughts about AirPots. Did you use RootPouches before? Can you compare? I'm very interested in AirPots, but bought an RootPouch instead, because I read good reviews and they cost a couple dollars less. Probably because they are made in Oregon (afaik) and do not have to travel so much then the britpots :)

Very nice plants you have!!! I like them all, though Lucy and the Lemon are my favourite. If those had a kid, that would be sweet. I would call it jucy lucy lemon tree :) Though they'd need to adopt it, being a lesbian couple ...
But you realy made me want to grow the others too! Especially Church. With my health issues I do not need to care too much about THC content, and 16% is still quite alot. Poor those, who are not so fortune and are more restricted.

Keep up the good, creative work!

Yeah I had bad luck with my second SOG set I defoilated at the wrong day I dont know for sure what day or I might have taken to many that were close to a budsite but they are all stunted I have a WW and papaya that are 18 days younger and twice the size so im thinking of just scraping them they have 2 weeks left and replacing them with 16 I have ready now but I not sure though but im at day 21 on my next set for sure anf im going to trim half and leave half and see what happens does day make the huge a difference in what happens after? Ne how looking nice OMM :thumb: :bravo:

It sounds like you may have defoliated that first SOG sometime before the 21 days.

At 21 days of 12/12, the plant is basically done with it's initial "stretch". The defoliation will halt the vertical growth, which is why we wait until day #21, so you may have halted the vertical growth a little early.

I think I may have also but do you think they will still fill out? They are still pretty small my first set makes these look like "shake" but ill keep trying! :thanks:

How big are your buds usually at day 21 (size of dime-nickel-quarter) Ohyea thanks KRIP you always help a "brotha" out :thankyou: :namaste:

Hey CF !

Don't feel too bad....I can only run them for about an hour at a time 3 times a night. They put out allot of heat. They push my temps up over 83 degrees. So I don't run them that much, but they do help.

You and me both about the Cohorts. :smokin2::smokin2: A really bad idea.:smokin2:

Buddy, I have no idea why we think we should police the world. We've lost allot of our young men and women doing so. Once we leave the countries involved, usually gets back to what they were doing in the first place. ??

Welcome to my Grow PharmaFarmer :high-five: Glad to have aboard. Actually you haven't missed a thing......if you want to spend the time you can go back to the start of my Journal and start from the beginning......that may take a while though. I use the original AirPots as an example. Many others companies sell them here in the US now and the prices are lower.
That was the first I had heard of RootPouch's. I looked them up and they are one of many that make that kind of Material Growing Bag. There are some growers that use them here on 420 with good success. Sorry I don't remember who they are. Maybe some will pop in and give their impressions of them.

In all truth the Lucy and the Lemon Skunk caught me by surprise. The were only 4 weeks old when I put them in flower, but they jumped like crazy in no time. Sooner or later I may SuperCrop them. That is where you carefully bend them over to keep their hight under control. I should have Topped and FIMed them. If you don't know what that is I will happily give you an explanation of what it is.

That's great that you don't need too much THC. Take a look at xlr8's journal he is doing research on plants that relieve pain w/o much THC content.

Once again happy that you here with us on 420. :thumb:

Hey there guys can u help out sherley and check her out idk what is wrong with her but she still isn't 100% healthy like nute burn or something

Hi Mr Mud-Pie! I've been looking at your girls and I think you need to do what I did to my White Russian.
Flush them big time and then give them a light dose of cal mag. They look like they are suffering from nute burn. At least that is my opinion. Good luck Brother. :Namaste:
