Curious, did you dry the herb before going into freezer?
How many days if so?

We treated our blue dream like live resin and straight into the freezer it went. Now we can pull some out and press it or use it as bubble hash. The terpenes are insane and smells just as it was being grown. As for trimming we just got rid of the fan leaves and anything dead.

First thing we did was wash the lue Dream buds. Then we literally stripped the branches of leaves and buds, then put them in freezer bags. Then straight to the freezer. They habe been there ever since. We plan on making some more bubble hash in the near future. Hell, maybe I'll make some today.

Interesting Canna. I had issues pressing undried bud.
Ill give the fresh frozen a try. :thumb:

I don't think we will be pressing the undried bud. We will probably do a couple runs through the bubble hash machine, let the hash dry, then press it into oil.

I think pressing green buds may get some watery oil that is probably pretty green. I bet the chlorophyll would seep out of the buds and into the oils making it have an odd or possibly unpleasant taste.
 
You are so right...duh. I'm always looking for a reason to press something. :)
Altho I have a set of bags... I tried it once and it didnt work out so good.:(

The machine us awesome! It sure beats using a hand mixer. We dislike having to stop the hand mixer to get the plant matter off of it.

We have had the best luck with the bubble bags with the tut. It's trichomes have a happy little village of it's own trichomes. It produced a larger yield than we thought we would. It's a nice high too.

Canna...Canna....Canna...you know bubblehash is NOT about yield. When i mix using the mini washer i always only mix for 5-7 min's. for hi quality. If i wanted big yields i would just crank up the timer and let it beat the crap out of it for 15 min's....hi yield ...low quality......bahhh!

I guess what I meant to say, in a round-about way is, if the plant doesn't look like it has a lot of trichs to offer, it wouldn't yield as much as the tut would.

I think it makes sense to do 2 runs on the same batch. One quickie to get all the good stuff, one that's a longer soak to get the rest of the oils left behind. The second batch could then be used in cooking since the high is still there, but the taste may be less than desirable. I'm just trying to get as much out of our hard work as possible, you know. It doesn't make sense to me to toss all those other cannabinoids in the bin. That's just me being a hippie though. Lol
 
Oh...i gotcha C! A good example would be ...when i ran about
20 pounds of moldy bud thru the washer and bags. We were still getting gland heads after 4 times thru the process! Quality was there for the first two...three runs ..but that was short mixes and it was all big colas(chopped up of course). C...just curious..have ya looked at the hash straight off the bags....thru a scope???....pretty cool.I compare how it looks to a kids bubble bath....looks the very same...bubbles all stuck to each other....very cool stuff....all heads...NO stalks or crap...just nice round gland heads filled with joy!

We actually have, and I think Nis may have posted some here last time we ran bubble. I'll have to look for them, because it was really cool looking!!

Yesterday we did another run of bubble hash, this time with 1.5 lbs of frozen tutankhamon trim. No idea on yield since I don't have the "eye" for determining weight of hash, but I will say it is a decent haul. The use of the machine made the job much easier and faster, so if you plan on doing this a few times then it is well worth the money. We haven't taken any pictures of the hash of yet but will once it is dry. After it is dry we plan on pressing it just like we did the last one. Oh that reminds me, Canna pressed 6.3 grams of hash and got 4.8 grams of rosin in return. Not to bad eh? Anyways I took a couple micro shots of the 73 micron and the 45 micron bag.
