Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Two things pop into my mind when I see your troughs. How much smoke you'll get and how long it'll take to trim

Trimming that harvest seems like a very daunting task for sure. I some times dread trimming even little plants :laughtwo:
Ya eh , you two, can you imagine....my back would be a total wreck! Best to have help for it....more than two people...i would say six ,...min. Many pounds to take care of....would love to help Nis,....Canna,...for about an hour...LMFAO!
That's OK cuz you guys gonna have the last grins on your lil faces!:surf:
Hope all is well ...cheers Nis, Canna, Ohio, Yeti, and friends.:high-five:

I always enjoy the harvest... once it is done getting trimmed. They sure will have quite a bit of awesome meds :thumb:

We will hopefully have some friends over to help trim them up when the time comes. They came over yesterday to take a look at what we had going on since it had been a while. Many smiles and laughs were had.

Really looking into a DIY trimmer or a trimmer on the market that is not $4,000 but it doesn't destroy the trichomes and sugar leaf. If all else fails, trimming by hand won't be too bad. A couple hundred 12" long buds. Will only take a few hours lol.

I have used the bowl trimmers and am not a fan. It beats the buds up pretty bad, doesnt trim as well as I like and was still time consuming. I havent seen anyone produce that I know about that was trimmed with the large expensive machines so I can not give my take on that. Although extremely time intensive hand trimming seems to be the best method still.
We have spent a lot of time on YouTube looking at different designs. The bowl trimmer is out for sure. We saw some that looked like a box fan and had a metal blade under it. Just rolled the cola over it and it tore the fan leaves off and left the sugar leaves. That's what we want. Get rid of the fans and we will get the close stuff by hand. Just cut the time in half that's all we ask! :laughtwo:

Morning Nis...never mind all the trimming yous have to do....what about all the work with the troughs once the trimming and hanging is done!! Getting the troughs ready for another run is gonna be very labor intensive as well, but you have the motivation and desire ,so all's good !:high-five:

Was thinking of just parking the troughs over a tarp and flipping it upside down. Should just pop right out, if not I have no problem cutting it and replacing the fabric. We bought a 100' roll and have used 20' so far and it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace it after every other run. We will see how well it holds up.

Morning Canna and Nis,

I agree with cannanewb, smoke a joint, mellow a little, and the answer will present itself. At least that's what I do. Works for me.

I love the canopy you have created with the trough design! Awesome sight!

My last harvest I trimmed the fans before I chopped the plant. Seemed better to me, anyway. Not as many cola's as you have, lol!!

Wanted to stop by to wish you guys a happy Memorial Day. Good to ponder those who have gone on before us, and especially those who have given their lives so we can grow and smoke the good stuff. Yeah!

Heya Nis and Canna...hope you are having a great Memorial Holiday weekend!

I have a few questions on the Blue Dream if you don't mind.....how long are you going in between waterings right now?

I think I read a few pages back you are using the Way Ahead with your Brix on the BD. My BD is about 3 days behind yours....should I start WayAhead now and use it weekly with Brix from here on out? Are you using Doc's ratio 1/4 WA to 1 Brix? So say I use 4 ml Brix with 8 oz RO, I'd also put in 1 ml of WA if my math is correct?

Doc says WayAhead is to prevent midbloom fade in plants that get it...when do you typically start seeing signs of midbloom fade kicking in?

Thanks man...have a great day!! :thumb:

Morning Beaves....yes , you can start with the Wayx10 with Brix once every 7-10 days. Mix it at 1/4 ratio, just as you said OK!
Your girl is doing very well without it , but it's still very early ...if she were mine , I would start with it now....It's best to deal with any def's before they sneak up on ya ...then all you do is 'chase' it the whole way. Cheers bud!

Looking fantastic here!

on those troughs...couldn't you just amend in place? Apply the amendment, and just let it do it's thing. Drop some leaves and little stems from the harvest on top, it'd be just like out in the wild. Maybe it's just the lazy in me....carry on.

You know, I thought about that but started second guessing myself since I thought it would have to be covered to keep in the moisture. Hmmm. That would be extremely easy.

We have to water about every 4 days or so. 10 gallons each seems to be a good amount. They just have 1/4 transplant Friday and will get water tomorrow. I have been considering giving the CAT drench a few days later so maybe sneak a GE in before then. We shall see.

Duggan was spot on with he WA. Our last run of the blue dream it faded a decent amount so this time it is looking to be beneficial. Also with the new drench formula I'm seeing a big difference. Stems are a bright green, petioles are green, no signs of any deficiencies. All is looking good. Don't forget to top dress with EWC and recharge in between weeks 2 and 3. Doesn't matter if it's water or drench, it all goes down the same.

Keep it up Beavis, she is looking great.

Gotta quick question for ya nis, what is the shelf life for bottles of docs nutes. Also do you add amendment to 2nd run soil? Going to order some bigger bottles, don't know if should get gallons of everything or mix it up. Just don't want anything to go bad. Hope you and canna having a good Memorial Day

Oh forgot, your garden is looking great, thanks for the updates .

Great day to ya Buck, Nis...ya with the amendments. Here's how we do it. For first and second run soil use the first run amendment, for cooking a 3rd time Doc has a different amendment for that. It's just a lil different than the first and second run stuff. I have used first run for amending third run soil, but ya have to treat the grow/soil just a bit different . Make sense ?
Hey Nis ....your idea of just dumping the whole trough/s out on a tarp would be my way, then just put it all back in the trough/s ...that is , if your not going to use them right away again! I also figured , if you just cut the ends 'open' so you could shovel it all out , then work with it! Dunno, waddaya thinkin bud!

Nis, member back , i said i had an idea for emptying the troughs....it was , since it's so easy , just cut open one/both ends, so they can be quickly repaired and closed up again , with some tie wraps etc. Know what i mean bud,...if ya cut the sides it will just fold down, like a flap. Then just shovel it all out...push it out, onto a tarp. The liner you used will be filled with roots , so that will need some attention. That black landscaping cloth is great , like the stuff you said you have , by the yard. I've used mine too many times now...:tokin: used to really clean it off good , but now i just pull/brush off what i can in a couple min's. , then re-line the pot/s with it. What does the bottom look like ,...have ya had a look at it yet? roots? How is the drainage with them Nis? cheers.:high-five:

There's evidence that a living soil like ours can benefit from leaving the myco networks intact, so that's not a bad idea.. You might want to check with some LOS people. I'd say it's certainly worth a try for a second run. After several runs, I'm not sure you'd could trust the mineral balance in the soil anymore. I've cut a HB rootball out of a pot and used it to upcan another new plant, and others have done it. It usually turns out great. :cheesygrinsmiley:

:Namaste:
