Well, you wash your veggies when you harvest from the garden, right? Get all the dirt and dust off them before you eat it. The same applies with your buds. We trimmed all the buds prior to the wash. In the buckets pictured, the left one has
1 c. Fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 c. Baking soda
5 gal cold water
Middle and right buckets have plain cold water. We submerged the buds in the lemon/soda bucket for about 30 sec, or until the bubbles stopped coming out. Gently swirl it for the 30 secs. You don't want to bump the bucket and risk losing the tri's. Then remove bud and dangle over bucket until it stops dripping and do the same with the 2 rinse buckets. We then tied the buds to a hanger to get them to drip dry. Once we didn't feel the water in the buds, we put them in separate 2.5 gal glass containers with a large 62% Boveda. It should cure for about 3 weeks. Viola! Smokey smoke time.

Let's say I grew lettuce, cucumbers, tomatos and carrots in my basement. It's dusty down there, I've got fans flowing all around....battled with some PM, had some mites.....every now and then I get some rot or other disease on my plants....bugs flying around, dead skin cells, hair.....and I spray the plants with compost tea, fish fertilizer, kelp meal, etc.
So, you wanna come over for a salad? We'll just pull the veggies out of the ground, plop 'em in a bowl and start eating! No need to wash.....right?
Are you familiar with the Boveda packs? They are supposed to regulate the RH in the container to 62% to keep the right humidity in the container while the plants cure. You have them jarred already? If so, I'd rethink that. Those are dense enough buds you're courting mold. I leave my buds hang for at least four days, and longer with dense ones like the Dark Devil Autos.
Kuddos on a fine job. Your first harvest? Ahhhh....... It's like your first love. No other will ever compare.

No worries, they are hanging again. We shall wait a few days. Thanks everyone for your input. It will adjust it by a few % either way but it won't bring it down from 75%.
