Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Re: Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends

UPDATE...

Has been cancelled so we can ask you guys and gals how to get rid of Spider Mites! The flower room has mites. At least 3 plants, but they are all in so close proximity that I wouldn't be surprised if they all have mites.

We have plants that just recently started flower to plants that are a week or so away from harvest.

We have the Neem oil on hand. Now, here's the tricky part, what's the best way to do this? What about the buds? Do we spray them? We don't want mold.

I'll assume we spray from the bottom up, concentrating on the undersides of the leaves. Please help us so we can go napalm style on their little mite asses!

Thanks in advance for your help friends!! I know you will all come through for us! Man, I love this site!!

:circle-of-love:

The Borg are with you.... and they will be gone here shortly.

I had an outbreak 2 days before leaving for vacation for a month in my current grow that I have watering automated. Yeah so wow I was like I'm going to come back to a room full of nothing but dead plants. It didn't happen ... in fact my current grow was 6 of 8 weeks I was in another country and no one was watching the ladies.

So here's what I did to get rid of spider mites. Oh btw they lay eggs in like 2 days after showing as adults so you have that to deal with later on.

IPM - Integrated Pest Management - recipe:

fRecipe - IPM on Steriods:

1 gal RO water
1 tbs Pro-tekt (usual for 1 gal is 1/2tsp)
2 tbs Ful-power
2 ounces of Dr Bronner's peppermint soap.. I always have that on hand cause that's what I shower with!
1/2 tsp of 200X aloe powder (emulsifier - blends everything together - oil will separate without this - fresh aloe will work even better)
1-2 tbs of neem oil

^^^ All Organic FTW ^^^

Now spray EVERYTHING in the room ... ceiling walls floor - drench the plants like they will look like they are going to die from over watering, soil in the pots and the floor around the pots. You are spraying with a sprayer so it will be OK. Don't forget you.. go take a shower with the Bronners peppermint soap.

They will come back too... they really like VERY hot conditions so normal to see outbreaks this time of year ... summer time basically.

They don't really get around well so you can see one plant with them and the next one nothing. Get the loop out they are really tiny.

The neem oil does them in and the Bronners soap... the rest is for good healthy plants.

Thats it, good luck ... thank me later. :thumb:

No stress do this long enough you get pests.. better the 6 and 8 legged ones that the 2 legged type.

Take a plant and block all the bud sites from light? So you want to grow a leaf plant?

Err... Yeah, it'd have leaves on it. But if you didn't completely cover the bud sites with those large fan leaves, then - regardless of how well it produced - someone would undoubtedly show up and say, "Yeah, but it would have produced more if you had taken the leaves off." :rolleyes3

This past Wednesday, I was over at Mom's house watering her garden, and I saw some cherry tomatoes ready to be picked. I started picking them... and ended up picking 63 from one plant, most of which were pretty well hidden by a combination of the plant's leaves and the surrounding plants (and their leaves). Yes, it was outdoors. However, due to the positioning of things, that plant didn't get much in the way of direct sunlight (almost none) - which makes the shading pretty significant, I'd think. I'd say that the buds on an untrained - and "unplucked" - cannabis plant grown (correctly) indoors under a decent HID setup would have gotten more light.

Now we have the resources to be able to experiment and I think it would be fun.

I think it would be interesting. And educational - and getting educated is fun, so... I agree.

Take off all side branching and just have all energy sent to have one massive cola.

Err... See: SoG, lol.

Now the "leaf plant" I think it would be difficult since the plant will move and twist itself out from cover and get to the light.

Yeah, to an extent. But those big fan leaves are energy-producers, so you shouldn't have a great deal of trouble, methinks. Set up a little(?) SCRoG. You could use chicken wire or something. Fan leaves are fairly flexible, and the flat plane would help you keep stuffing the growing tips back (down) through the holes, whilst pulling the fan leaves up.

It'd have to be the leaves that provide the shading. If you simply used a sheet of lightproof material, the experiment wouldn't work. (You probably already knew this, lol.)

puregreen had a really BAD experience and was robbed on EVERYTHING he has.

Oh, no! I hope the cops find out who did it - or, perhaps better still, HE finds out who did it.

And I really hope he has homeowner's insurance (or renter's insurance, whichever applies).

I wish I could donate, but I'm not currently working and eating semi-regularly is a challenge. Right now, the only money coming in is from (occasional) odd jobs that I manage to hustle up. But I hope that those who can help out, do so. I came home (different house, different town) once to find that I had been robbed quite thoroughly. About all the help I received was a sack of canned groceries (which helped, because the SoBs even took the refrigerator) and the gift of a dog that was so stout he could run full tilt dragging a logging chain with four old-style three-hole cinder blocks attached to the other end like they were made out of balsa wood. That helped, too, because the OL was afraid to be there by herself afterwards. Personally, I wished that I had been there - by myself - when the people broke in. It took me about a year and a half to find out who did it (couple of brothers). But they were druggies who sold everything as fast as they could steal it to feed their habits, so all I managed to get when I learned who it was, was... satisfaction ;) . So, yes, I definitely hope he learns who it was ASAP.

Thank you everyone for the help on those little f'rs. To help raise the mood a bit I took a couple pictures of what we have going on that is new...

We have officially started "the kit". The soil has been cooking for over a month and we have put it to use. Haven't decided if these girls will get their own journal but I know for certain one of them will. We are starting 4 girls from seed with the kit and we have 3 clones that are in kit soil and maybe 2 of them will go straight into flower maybe in a #1. They are clones from the crown royale flux so I kinda want to have a little something to try from them. Even though the mom isn't HB so taste will be different. Maybe just something to compare later on.

So here they are:

HSO Blue Dream, Cream of the Crop - Pretty Lights, and Cream of the Crop - Purple Paralysis. Germination was started Wednesday night and were in soil Friday with awesome tap roots. They were put into the solo cups with a slight dusting of Roots! and were given plain RO water. The clones needed watered today so they got .5 mL of transplant in 16 oz of water in the bottom of the tray they are in. I'll bust out the de-stress if they start to look droopy. But they are almost 2 weeks old so they shouldn't change much for the worse.

Then for the 4th from seed is a Dr. Krippling's Incredible bulk. For this one we are starting her in a #1 and she will be the year long flux! We want her to have a full year of veg time before going to flower. So to do that and for it to be ready by the end of 2017 we have to start it now. No idea how well the foliars will work when we prune a lot during fluxing but the use of the de-stress will be beneficial. I made a camera mount for the time lapse at work and have mounted it to the wall. It is made out of stainless steel so rusting won't be an issue if it gets wet or from the humidity. Camera is waterproof also so we are all set. I can change the height of it easily and the pitch of the camera. Made it ready to be running for a year and easily moveable. She just went into the soil about 3 hours ago so we should see her on Tuesday. Camera is going so we should catch every moment of her life. Pictures will take every 1 minute and there will be a lot of editing involved to get her life down to a manageable 5 minute time lapse. She will be getting her own journal and that will start when she decides to show us her pretty face. Here....we....go!

Then just to show off some baby buds we have the Pineapple Express Auto that has been showing flowering for 2 weeks

And the Purple Kush showing us her true colors. Tons of purple as the pictures don't do her justice.

Work has been really busy lately and will be for the next few weeks so i'll try to make an appearance here the best I can. Long days make it difficult to update here so its a good thing Canna is here to take care of you guys and gals with pictures and such. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend as we did. Stay Classy friends.

Nice update Nis'

I like all the things you are getting started in the HB :thumb:

I am definitely reading up on HB and think I will be hitting the Doc up for a kit soon.

I am also excited about the year long Time Lapse Incredible Bulk Flux. That is a great idea! Should start some kind of contest or at least a poll on what the final harvest weight will be. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Best of luck with your little pest problem. Looks like y'all got the game plan and takin' care of it

Everyone have a great evening :passitleft:

Hey , nice lil camera mount Nis. Is that a direct feed to your PC? Sounds like i'm gonna have another "sub" to follow...yeepa!

:thedoubletake::thedoubletake:

Cheers bud!:passitleft:
I wish it was. But it has a 32 GB memory card that'll I'll have to upload to the computer every 2 weeks or so. It has WiFi, but can't use it while it is plugged in. Dang. Maybe for Christmas I'll splurge on a fancy camera like that so I don't have to touch it. Set it and forget it. Yet another thing added to my long Christmas list lol.

Hey guys, nice update. Hope ya got them dang bugs all taken care of too. It made me nervous of my own babies and I had to go check on them lol. Love seeing the new babies/clones in your guys' journal, means there will be lots more things to look forward to :)

Just seeing that PK doing it's thing and changing colors makes me want to pop one of them on the next go, maybe I will, along with a CBDream to go with the Dutch Treat!!

Keep up the good work here, I like seeing how busy you 2 keep yourselves.

It has WiFi, but can't use it while it is plugged in.

Is that something that a firmware update might (or possibly even already has) fix, or do you suppose it's because of a really noisy power supply / component?

How much did it cost? What's the brand and model number? (If you do not mind, of course.)

It is an Ion Air Pro. It is made to be an action sports camera but has a time lapse feature so that was the main attraction when buying it. It cost $50 and in my mind it was a good buy. The only thing I don't like is that the power cord/sync cable is a USB/ Micro USB and it isn't supposed to work while plugged in. I found a glitch in it that allows it to take pictures while plugged in (have to push the button in a random sequence to start taking pictures. Anywhere from 3 - 100 times). I talked to tech support and they told me for an extended time lapse I could purchase an extended battery that will make the total battery life around 6 hours. Ha. Couldn't even get a single day with that.

The WiFi is an adapter that you plug into the back of it the essentially allows you to remotely control it and see a live feed. But again, can't use it while plugged in.

After all of this, I wouldn't mind something with its own dedicated power supply, point it on the top of the plant, start it, and walk away. That's what I want. A camera that it's sole purpose is time lapse. But all in all, it'll work....for now.

Good morning all just swinging through to see what the morning discussion is :passitleft:

Nismo, what time lapse intervals does that model have? How many shots per day are you looking at getting for your Time Lapse ?

I expect a solution coming at ya very soon Nis for WiFi connectivity.
TS will leave no stone unturned. Lol

Great update.
Ps good morning all

Phrum the light room.

Options are every 1 second, 10 seconds, 30 seconds, and 1 minute. It is set on 1 minute intervals. So in the end I'll have it at 60 fps video then sped up a ton. May have to exclude a few frames in the final "cut".

Wow! You guys move fast here. :laughtwo:

bobrown14, you left just exactly what I was getting ready to track you down for. Thank you, thank you, thank you. :adore: I need to find the Br. Bonkers peppermint soap and I'm good for the rest. I know, I should have been doing this all along.

Canna and nis, booooo on the Borg. Hit 'Em hard with BB's IPM recipe and keep at it. They're insidious little bastards. I'm hoping that by finally paying attention to BB I can get the Borg and those damned thrips finally under control. Don't worry, you'll get it done there. Just remember, as I seem inclined to forget, that Integrated Pest Management doesn't mean sporadic, it suggests a regular scheduling.

The year long veg is a provocative experiment. May I ask where that idea originated? Thankfully you have the room to play.

Every Minute = 1440 frames per day @ 60 FPS = 24 seconds of footage per day @ 365 days = 146 Minutes of video

That's one hell of a movie.... Coming to Box Offices Late 2017.... The Flux! Starring Incredible Bulk and supporting actors Nismo12 & Canna Montana!

Just found a new camera that will take 240,000 pictures on one charge and can be plugged in. Automatically stitches the pictures together and sends via WiFi to the computer. Intervals ranging from .3 seconds to 24 hours. Even has a LCD screen...now just to get the approval from the boss. :thumb:

Smoke em if you got em! :passitleft:

Hope there's a lot of "paperwork" involved for ya.
How much somethin like that go for, Nis ?
:passitleft:

Phrum the light room.

Hope you guys get it. Would Definetly be a huge help in the production of the Incredible Bulk project. Among others I'm sure.

Phrum the light room.
