I've wondered about... leaf removal. It appears that the general theory (for those who do it) is that they're removing leaves "so that they cannot block light from the buds." Right?
Well, it sounds good. But does that mean that IF one were to refrain from removing a single healthy leaf and, instead, to actually continually rearrange the foliage and train the plants in such a way that every bud site is hidden by leaves... that one would have NO buds to speak of, lol? <SCRATCHES HEAD> I kind of suspect that there would still be a harvest, lol.
Removing lower buds, I can understand that. Every plant has a finite amount of energy/etc. to make flowers (buds) with. People who grow prize-winning tomatoes, pumpkins, and other fruit often remove all but one or a very few other fruit, so that the plants concentrate their resources on those few that remain. And it makes sense to remove those farthest from the light.
IDK. I do not have the resources to perform experiments that may not contribute to a harvest. But I am curious.
