Welcome All My Friends To The Show That Never Ends - Canna M & Nismo12 Team Up!

Alright everyone, we have a question to ask all of you, but it's not an easy one for us to ask.

We have a problem in our flower room. Our photos have been growing seeds. We notice them when we harvest. They are viable seeds, as the PK in the breeding room is one of the seeds that we got from our harvest.

There was one time that the SSH, fruit punch, PK, Pineapple chunk, and og Kush were all together. Pk is the first to show seeds. They were our first harvest and NO breeding had been done at all then.

Then the ogk, fruit punch, and the cheese have given seeds. Cheese was never in flower with the PK.

The Green Crack may have made one seed, but I'm not sure because that's what I thought was on the tray, I could be mistaken. None of the other autos have produced seeds.

Let's work together so we can figure out what we are doing wrong. I'm tired of getting seeds we don't ask for. Lol!

Oh my....and a puzzle too. Most likely it's the one you reversed that's caused it. Pollen travels very easy as I am told. Bummer.

I'm interested in hearing the ensuing discussion. I myself have been surprised to find the stray seed fall out of a homegrown bud. Always wondered how that comes to be.

Ya know... pollen is mighty small and floats easily on the wind sticking to clothes, hair, shoes, whatever.
The only way to fully avoid it would be to seal the room and use some sort of sterilization protocol. Seems like a huge PITA. You could cut the number of seeds drastically by just sealing up the room and not visiting the bloom room after being near sources of pollen.
The location of the first seeds in the room might be a clue. Did they first occur near the door? Was it near a vent? This might give you more clues to the source of the pollen.
Then there's your neighbors. If they're creating pollen, it will probably find it way onto you and into your garden. If it's coming from other gardens in the area, you might consider a filter on your air input that can catch something as small as pollen.

This is not a legal state, so we can assume there is no pollen floating around.

The thing about it is that no pollen was even around when the purple kush, OG Kush, etc were in flower. There has been no appearance of nanners or signs of hermies. Heat is good. Stress level is low. I don't get it. It's not a lot of seeds but we shouldn't have a single one.

In the breeding tent (two floors away in a closet) there is a 6" filter and fan setup to prevent the spread of pollen. We go in there now maybe every 3 days since it is on auto pilot and just need to water. And when we do we walk right out to the shower. Clothes get washed separately and even clothes that were around it have been washed and relocated.

To our knowledge we have done everything right. But this is one issue we would like to solve. Maybe long veg times. Who knows.

And you're sure that filter catches things as small as pollen?
You're also sure that there are absolutely 0 air leaks from the breeding tent. Most tents are nowhere near air tight.
That really doesn't matter when it comes to the plants we have already harvested. They were not pollinated by the breeding tent. It didn't exist while most of them were alive.

I agree with that. Totally. But the fact that this started 2+ months before pollen even was in the picture.

Should prolly get over to my own journal eh...2 friggen hours , just cruisin...havn't been there yet,..i'm excited to see everyone at my place. Cheers eh!

:laughtwo: This is sooooo me. Lol! I keep saying "one more check of notifications, then I'll have breakfast." Lol! Let me get to my own yard now. Haha! Haven't been there yet, and it's been a full 90 minutes. :battingeyelashes:

Oh look.. they both said the same thing. I'm replying to the pretty blonde rather than George.

So, yea... look for external sources. What are your neighbors up to? Any outdoor growing in the area?

Highly unlikely. This is not a legal state. Maybe the hippies we bought the house from were indoor growers. It would make sense to us, from how the house is.

Did the plants you're describing have a couple/few seeds or were they SEEDED!

It's very common that, late into flower, a true female will self-seed as a means of self-preservation of the species. She knows winter is coming and she hasn't been pollinated yet and decides she'll just do it herself.

When this happens, the seeds produced are genetic clones of the mother, so will be female and not likely to hermie.

If it got pollinated, you should see LOTS of seeds. Pollen can travel through the A/C and ventillation systems, so if you had pollen anywhere in the house or on your clothes/hands when you were in the vicinity of the plants, that could cause pollination.

As a general rule, you need to shower and change clothes after handling the pollen before you handle your other plants.

I was chatting with Shigs yesterday and he said the same thing when it comes to the plant pollinating itself.

I'd have to guess in the 4 PK plants we harvested, we got 40 seeds. I gave some to my dad and he got a few seeds too.

So far, it out of the 1 ogk, I've got 23 seeds that are good. There were immature seeds as well.

So far from the cheese we have 15 seeds that are viable.

I forget how the self seeding work but that was my first thought. Not a true Hermie and would explain immature seeds.
Now.....:hmmmm:
The viable seeds I think take about 4 weeks or more to get there. There in lies more mystery.

I feel strange about seeds, like i got enough but they can be so precious, but I got no where to keep hundreds more. So Yeah, I would like to see your mystery solved.

Better you got to it before. Your way was much better. Hey man don't mind me please. I can only talk on a superficial level til I get where I'm goin.
Blessed buds to all.
