Weenmeoff's Inside Soil Alien Abduction Grow Journal

I think I can see tiny pistils forming on #1 but it's really hard to tell in person so doubt this pic will reveal much.

Well, I don't see Balls. That's a good thing

Thanks you two! They definately seem like buds are forming. If I don't see concrete evidence soon I'm going to have to transplant all 3 since I will be away for a week and don't want them to run out of water.

Temp range has been 73-82 since I installed the new fan but it's also been cool out.

We are just fortunate to be able to help others, as others have helped us. Keep up the good work bud!

I got three 7 gallon smart pots for transplant and have a couple questions. I will hold off as long as I can to see if clones show sex as I don't really want to transplant a male but I'll be away from them for about a week and they need more water than they can currently take/use in that time.

1 - I have some pro mix which I used for the clones and got some gnats. I also have plenty of organic soil which I used in the 5 gallon buckets and had no problems with bugs. Which should I use or should I mix them? If pro mix should I apply DE?

2 - after transplant, should I water with straight water, rooting supplement or feed veg Nutes?

3 - any general transplant tips? I'm wondering if it's going to be easy to flip the 5 gallon buckets upside down without dirt getting everywhere.

As always thank you all for you help! I owe you one! :volcano-smiley::ganjamon::blunt:RoorRip:bong:

Ok so to start off with the questions, I will give the best answer I can give. The gnats, no idea what you can add other than the yellow sticky bug/fly catchers.

For transplanting...it has always landed on a feed day for us. We add in some myco madness with it as well. Couldn't hurt. Then for your 5 gallon bucket debacle. Yes you will have some spillage and if you have a good root ball, it'll stay together fairly well. First you have to loosen up the soil just like you would transplanting out of a solo cup. It would be best to have another person there to pull the bucket off while you hold the plant. Our 3 gallon smart pots got retrofitted with velcro on the bottom for easier transplanting. Just undo the vecro, pick it up, and set in the new pot. No going upside down and no mess. You can thank Canna for collaborating the idea. Just something to think about in the future.

Hope some of this helps bud. :thumb:

No harm in transplanting a plant of uncertain sex.

If it turns out to be a boy you can just chop the stem a bit below the soil like and the pot is ready for your next transplant.

For spotting sex, I usually like to look at the stems from a side view - easier to spot than from top view.

How much will you get from your clones?

Hard to say. Yields vary a lot based on conditions. Your plants grow faster than mine !

Thanks Rad. I've been seeing pistils on all 3 plants (not the clones yet) so think I have 3 girls. I can't imagine my plants grow faster than anyone's, especially yours Rad. I'm gonna go for it for fun. I have some work to do. Will transplant plants into 7 gallon smart pots, clones in 3 gallon smart pots, fed all and light proof the dog cage.

Some pics of the plants but before I noticed the pistils which may be hard to get pics of.

They say a watched pot never boils... untrue... those girls will clearly show their sex one day.

Keep on checking :)

It's hard to get pics but every time I spread a top, I see what looks like pistils on all tops of all plants. I feel pretty confident that all 3 are females even though the clones are still not showing.

I did go ahead and uppot the clones. I figured 2 gallon would be enough but after I did the 1st one, I found out I only had one 2 gallon so the other 2 went into 3 gallons. They took 1 gallon of Nutes at 1/3 strength.

They are looking more girly with every update you post. Yay!

I am no expert but I'd say this pic is confirmation. #1 monster runt in all her glory! It's the clone.

The clones love their new homes and nutes! Will transplant the plants tomorrow and feed. I have done 1/3, 1/2 and was planning on doing full strength unless someone tells me otherwise.

Congratulations! It's a girl!!! Yay! How long has it been since you fed them nutes? I don't think full strength is unreasonable, as long as they did ok with half strength a week or so ago.

Thanks! It's been about a week since 1/2 strength. They've been kind of droopy lately but perked up when I gave them the nutes.

Congrats on your girl now let's hope the rest follow suit.

Thanks dirt! I'm pretty confident they're all girls but I'm really happy i got one for sure and I know what to look for in future grows .

So happy for you, after all that work too.

Thanks grow 2 heal! It's not as great as the news I read in your journal!
