I wish I was a beer snob.. I tried and failed. A couple interesting facts..

1). Bud considers their biggest competition "Other" - as in Microbrews
2). Bud comes out of the barrels over 10% ABV. - they water it down just for volume purposes and get 3x as much beer/run

Give me a Bud Light any day. I find micros smell like BO and taste like bath water.

Geesh.. what I meant to say was.. "great plants WC!"

with Buddhas teaching, you can stay awake .. bubbas make you fall asleep and feel violated

Weasley, cheers for the grafting info. Most useful indeed. Good to hear too. Might be important one day soon. Brings grafting back into the realm of a possibility again. Thx agin. Chat soon

Wait -you never answered my question.
What do you think of the OG Kush? Sorry if I missed it in your journal, but you must have smoked some by now. Everyone seems to like that strain. Think it may be a good replacement for the PrimaDonna Chunk?

What is the smoke like? How would you consider the PC smoke to be different, or better/worse than the OG ? Aside from the strain surviving the issues in style ? The PC is kind of a source of issues, for me, and its like I'm the one trying to do the surviving.

Damn PCs. Just had to say it.

What a great idea... using a common strain as a yardstick. Ain't u just the slick one! Next thing you know, you'll be giving us all a lesson in cepheid variables.
Anyway...
OGK is a heavily indica strain with very thick growth. They can lead to some really tight mainlineing or scrogging. Thick fat-ass girlies.... Tead likes his some junk-in-da-trunk!
The smoke has been a standard in my world for years now... so I might be really biased.
It's a typical heavy handed indica hit. There's a fast initial smack to the brain that fairly quickly fades to the most wonderful background effect that I really enjoy. It's not so heavy that it knocks me off my ass like the UD Boom pheno, but forms a very nice high that still allows me to carefully use power tools. The PC has much less of a body hit aspect to it and kind of makes me a touch ADD, but sends my brain spinning down though-trails that seem to lead everywhere.
I've been doing alot of green gumbo mixing with the sativa and indica mixes... going for both effects at the same time. Killer. PC is a great source of the sativa portion of the gumbo... can't wait to mix it with UltraDog.

right. Least not yet.

Og kush. Well. This has quickly turned inti my second favorite plant overall. But my fav indica indeed. If thats what it is. It has all the qualities i enjoy. The densest buds i have grown by a mile. Wonxerful deep eafthy dank smell that just keeps getting deeper and danker. It finishes earliesh which is nice. 70 days or less. And the vape taste is satisfying indeed. Oh yes.

The buzz is a buzz. Is a buzz a buzz?? I will buzz off for now. At work and on my fone. Typing sucks with me baby fingy. Cheers.

Oh. Second plant outxoors now. Yay

~Critical Cheese~

Another Cheese. Chopped this one yesterday. She one flowered for 81 days, so a little less than usual and she'd just barely started purpling. I could have left her another week or two, but it's a balancing act. The most exposed buds, which was most of them, were perfect. The shaded buds were less than perfect, kind of fluffy. Still nice and sticky, but they ended up in the trimmings pile because of their fluffiness. Overall any issues weren't about the timing so much as the fact that I'm overgrowing these Cheese screens. If I'd waited another couple weeks the main buds would have been less sticky and perfect than they were. Bushy is just the way this plant likes to grow. If I flip one to flowering at a point where it's going to grow big enough to fill the screen, it's also going to produce a crowded bud salad on it. The only way around this I think, other than getting a brighter light, would be to do a lot more trimming and maintenance throughout the first half of flowering. I can't say I'm super excited about that idea...
I do more and more consider the idea of getting a different light though, if I get rich someday. I traded the Mars 1200 away that I won because I figured my existing lights are better. I think I need the HIDs for heat, but could probably replace at least one of them with an LED sometime. Never a blurple one though. I don't want to be looking at that colour.
Anyway- since I'm pouring so much bud into oil production lately I'm happy enough to have those trimmings.

~Grafted Sativa~

She seems happy. After over five months being tortured in the veg room she's pretty eager to flower. Still getting bigger. I wouldn't call this a huge plant compared to some I see on the forum, but at about 40 x 40" and growing she's the biggest one I've grown indoors. I'd grow them bigger but am prevented- by some logistics to do with carrying them through a couple small doorways and down a hallway to get to a space I can trim in.
She's being fed at a higher dose than the Mama Thai and Malawi would normally be able to handle without burning badly- so it looks like Uptheholler was right - her feeding needs are dictated or at least influenced by the Panama rootstock.

Yeah, nothing goes to waste really. Though it sometimes seems like it when I see the small returns I get in some of those hash making sessions. I'm going to use the fresh frozen fluffy buds for oil when I get around to it.
'Pain cream' (that term always sounds like some sort of sinister torture treatment to me) batch #2 is still brewing. I added about three ounces of bud to it. Then made another run with three ounces turned into QWISO yesterday, and added that too. Oh yeah I added about a quarter ounce of bubble hash as well. Hopefully it's worth it. I'm 99% sure the cream works. Just trying to be as skeptical as possible. I can always smoke it if I'm not '100% satisfied'

The house squirrel made a nest in some far corner of my roof. The eggs must have hatched out or whatever and now all night I hear those cutey little squirrel chicks chirping away over there, keeping me up. Mama squirrel is busy running back and forth on the roof constantly, raiding my food whenever she can get it. Ate almost a whole apple today I left out. Little buggers.

Might have to catch me up on this cream you're talking about? I have a plant I'm treating with CS that I don't want to smoke or eat so I was thinking about making a topical with it.

What's ur first favorite? The peanut gallery must know!

Well, thank you, tead, so much, for asking. My pleasure to answer your request.

I have come to very fond of three plants at the moment,,

First on the list is mama thai/Thai Stick, which on this site has been shortened to, mastik, and i, for my notes, now refer to this plant as simply, mast.

Now, that I look at my nick naming I am changing my nick to the first and last two lettets, now this mastik will be referred to as,, Mack

So, Mack is number one

O.g. Kush is number two

And one I find similar to the OG kush, but different as well, blueberry, is my number three at the moment

Thanks agin fer askin,, appreciated,, salude friends

Ok I'm really fumbling through this because a lot of it is new to me (making oil, and decarbing bud) but here are a couple threads I've been getting my info from.
In this one - CBD Joy: A Community Garden Experience if you scroll back two or three pages to where Robert Celt made a couple posts, you'll find some info and a recipe or two. In Sue's signature I'm assuming you'll find a link to her oil thread which is full of info. Maybe a little too much. :laughtwo:
But for a basic recipe there is one here.Pain Cream using only 2 grams made many times If you've decarbed before and have a handle on what temps and times you need, instead of being confused like me, you'll find it easy I'm sure. Basically you're making oil, then thickening it with beeswax to make a salve.
In my batches I also used about 40% non-decarbed bud- to get the benefits of the THCa. (No I don't really know anything about this either).

I mucked out the veg room- more plant murder and mutilation. Started a graft of the Honduras on to a Peyote Purple. The plan is to make a four-Aces plant. Well five actually but I'll just use the PP as rootstock with no foliage, and have Honduras, Panama, Malawi, and GT as the scion strains. Could be a disaster since Honduras and GT seem much stretchier than the other two.
So far the flowering sativa grafts seem to be acting pretty much as they would normally, other than the different feeding level. They're stretching a little differently from each other- at about their normal rates. Maybe if the sativas were all stuck in a heavy indica rootstock like that though they'd all toe the line. I doubt it.

I'll follow your naming convention Nivek and refer to my 3 plants as "Macks". Well at least I will on 2 of them for now. The 3rd will be referred to as "Dead" cuz it grew a set of nuts. Still not sure about the other 2, even after 72 days in veg.

"4 Aces"... that's pretty cool. I'd like to make a topical cream too. My father swears it eases his ankles. We've bought a few from a medical dispensary for him. It's an arthritis/flexibility/just plain old combination that bothers him.

I haven't dove in too far... im looking more along the lines of
1: melt down a good cream
2: add CCO of whatever mix of cannabinoids works the best after trial
3: add any additional carriers or scents

The cream threads are great reads! That whole process is a bit much for me though. I don't even wait for cheese on my burgers to melt...

Love your plants Weasel! I just placed my 2 Ace Purple haze to flower. 4 Aces.... love it!

I wonder if those creams would work as well if they were just a isopropyl extraction that was then mixed into a beeswax? I know coconut oil is pretty beneficial in itself though.

Your grafting experiments seem pretty wicked man, excited to see what the ACE strains do.

I dumped a bunch of iso extract in this current batch. About 3 ounces of bud worth. I didn't measure the amount of Qwiso I got, but it wasn't a huge amount. Would be very expensive skin cream and I'm not sure if there would be enough increase in the effectiveness over weaker recipes to justify using straight Qwiso. I've been dumping tons of bud into this cream oil patch but maybe I'll make a batch with the recipe that I linked to, and see whether or not it's just as effective as using lots of bud.

Four aces.. knights of the round table, king weasel..
