Been doing a bit of a 'no-life' routine the last while, since I ended up taking over a bit larger work project than I wanted to, as the other guy had to leave for a month. Ah well, at least I am making good money. But I have to say- it sure is hard balancing making enough money to buy cake, and having any time left to eat and enjoy it too.

The grafted one stopped stretching pretty much. I feel like there is no detectible change from how the strains on it would normally look. They just seem like three plants.

Meanwhile, Honduras is doing her steady one inch a day routine with no sign of slowing. Now about 36". Looking at her, I really see no hope that she's going to stop going upwards in the near future. That's ok. I have another 10" of space if I move her to the left side. And another 10" after that if I take out the platform I have under the plants. After that maybe I can move the light up about 3 or 4 inches max. After that she's going to be facing alterations.
She was about four inches tall when I put her into flowering. Maybe three. Just a freshly rooted clone that I stuck in there to clone for sex.

The flowering room. Really crappy pic I know but I like it because it reminds me of an imaginary view into the cannabis lab on some Soviet era space shuttle contraption. Which is kind of what my grow feels like much of the time anyway. Yeah ok I'm stoned. Just imagine yourself hurtling through space as you look at it. Now you get it...if not, smoke more.

Oh yeah, the new management of CKS finally apologized for their post back in March accusing me of lying about not receiving my full order from them (the NOTY stuff). The experience dealing with that company was totally rotten and took up a lot of my time. Anyway- now they apologized and admitted that they never sent the full order and that I wasn't lying about it.
Water under the bridge now- not that I any more interested in their products than I ever was. The point is, sort of, that they want to send me some sort of coupon code/ free stuff voucher for what was missing- which I will give away.
I was already pondering the idea of starting some sort of fun informal grow contest- like the solo cup contest Marsbadrock started last time.
I don't know it would be solo cups necessarily. Doesn't matter really- just something to try new shit and stretch out a little and have fun doing it. I would give the coupon away as a prize and maybe someone else has some such stuff they feel like adding as well, which doesn't break 420 rules. But mainly it would be for fun and bragging rights.
If anyone has any ideas....? Just a thought.

Where did you get you strain from of p p and does it stray out and stay purple the whole time ?
My PP is from Ace seeds. I'm not sure what you meant by 'stray out'.
It doesn't start out purple, but definitely is purple by halfway through flowering. And the dried buds are a beautiful purple covered with white frost.

Nice colours ! Tagging along till harvest. Cheers for a good journal .
Thanks GrimReefer. I've been too busy to reply as much as I'd like in here lately. But I'm here right now- so I'll take the chance to say hi, and welcome. :passitleft:

Smoke kept going up their nose, need the peg..

Well let me know if anyone thinks of a good idea on which to base a grow-off. I wouldn't have much time to play gracious host - it wouldn't be my baby- just everyone's baby. But that's ok we are all grown ups here- or at least you guys are, and a thread can be set up as a poll- so people can vote at the end, and we just do our thing... Sounds easy enough.
Anyway....
Zzzz. Bed time.

Olympic Synchronized Smoking team
category was dropped cause of low tv ratings.
I heard the problem was competitors who couldn't get away from the tv...

How about best come-back plant... As in, a plant that should've died or been chopped, but beat the odds to be pick of the crop, or whatever..

Thanks Santb. From what little I've tried of the PP (the bud from the last one that I grew, which won NOTM but otherwise was pretty sickly and didn't have a lot going for it) it seems quite weak and mellow. Which is sort of how I like an indica to be anyway, if I'm dragged kicking and screaming into smoking one. Actually the last one I mostly vaped, and it was nice. Made me feel pretty happy, helped me sleep. But don't let all those trichomes fool you, it's not a super strong strain. At least mine wasn't. This one is from a different seed but looks the same and just as screwed up. It's going to make a beautiful looking pile of bud though.

I'm still not sure what's going on with trichomes vs strength. Realistically everyone seems of the opinion that those glands are where the THC etc is developed so surely it should reflect the strength of the high, but I find a lot of strains that don't have as many trichomes are a lot stronger than those crystal sugar buds that everybody loves and adores, I don't get it. Maybe it's worth delving into this further.

I might actually stand a chance of winning something on :420:! Oh wait, that damn ocean  Sounds like a fantastic idea though and I'd like to join even if it's just as a non prize participant :thumb:

As you can see Kriaze- the middle space got kind of taken. Actually there are about three or four of the middle plants that didn't make it into this picture. They're just getting extra light from the two 600s but aren't very well lit. It's all just little project plants, mostly for breeding. Males, CS treated females, pollinated females, and a GT clone that I'm (still) trying to sex. Seems like that GT has been around forever and I still don't know what it is.

I finally took the time to go through my grow night before last with the Kill-a-Watt and test everything on my circuits and to see what everything draws. Did the math and things look good. I have three 15 amp circuits and two of them are only using about 6 amps while one has a 9 amp load. So everything seems nice and safe (in my best Russian accent) and I could probably stick a little led or two in the middle. Even though I hate having the middle filled up like that ;)

More and more I think about taking things up a notch and getting better lighting. I don't want to run 1000 watt bulbs. Eventually some worthwhile LEDs will become attainable. I'm happy with my lights, but I think I can see glimmers of coming to some sort of ceiling with them, where I just can't get better bud even if I don't screw up on the growing end. First step will be to try better bulbs though. My Hortilux ones got old and I replaced them with a different generic bulb. I'll buy some better ones and see if there's a detectable difference.

I like the idea of disastrous plants making good. But it seems hard to work as an actual grow comp unless we purposely near-massacre the poor things then try to lovingly nurse them back to health. Which sounds a little psychotic actually. There's a Stephen King story called Misery...
Not so far from the truth sometimes :laughtwo: but how would we give it a start and a finish line- or would we even need to?

The thing I liked about the solo cup competition- it had no real prizes so no one got competitive and it didn't get a weird vibe like it does sometimes over there at POTM.
The rules for that one were something like - all roots contained in 18 oz maximum growing medium but it could be anything including DWC, 12/12 from seed only, and it had a set date to get your seed in the ground and finish by.

So there were some things that kind of forced people to thinks in new ways to make it work, which was fun. It's why I had to throw together the hexapus.
Anyway- something to think about. No hurry with it , things happen at glacial speed around here.

I ordered some more seeds just now- an Ethiopian strain that Ace came out with. Ethiopian Standard Maybe it will fall in the same niche that the Honduras is meant for- Honduras Standard a weak old school sativa that you can smoke big spliffs of all day. The Honduras grow came about because of a thread on the forum (and others like it) started by someone in search of 'weaker weed'. Sacrilege to some I know. But myself not being a heavy user, I miss strains that I can smoke full joints of and still survive the day. I work alongside of people who can smoke super strong indicas all day and still think clearly. I'm just not one of them. With a lot of smoking I can build my tolerances up to the point I can keep up with them, but let's just say mistakes are made at work along the way... And now that I've got sativas in stock at home I've got no desire to have to struggle when I get high- I just want to feel good. Different smokes for different folks I guess.

The other thought behind the Ethiopian- I have a few Ethiopian friends, wonderful people, and I think they'll appreciate getting some of this bud.
