It use to be that in iowa beer was limited to 6% but they changed the law to allow up to 15% for beer, where as in Pennsylvania I don't think they ever had a limit (I could be wrong but I don't recall them having a limit), it kinda varies state to state. It also depends on which state your in whether or not you can buy everclear. I personally don't care though alcohol just isn't my thing lol.

That's poppycock. Some people prefer bud light while others prefer a more hoppy IPA at 6-9%, all kinds made here right at home in the USA. Why smoke regs when you can have topshelf? Case in point

If I had to guess, I think it's like that here to keep patrons in the pubs all night long drinking water down drinks and keepin them $$$ landing in the till.

Two of my favorite nights spent in bars:
In a local brew pub that had a triple hopped IPA on tap. The smell of it alone was intoxicating and delicious. I only had two but I was flying. Friends called me a light weight until they tried it. One sip curled their nose hairs.

At a bar next to the reservation out on the coast, $1 beers in 8 oz. mason jars (they had both kinds of beer, Miller and Bud), drunk Indians singing karaoke, and enough local gossip to write the next Netflix original series.

Sometimes it's about the beer, sometimes it's about the people you're with, and sometimes it's about curled nose hair. It's all good... I love ya man!

I don't understand beer. I've never been able to get past the first sip. Uck!!! Give me a buzz with cannabis any given day. :battingeyelashes:

Well Sue- beer is a very good conversation starter as you can see. Should I start a batch of weed beer for you?

heya weaseley.... your journal is on fire weaseley,, sheesh...

Yeah I can't keep up either. It's not really my fault though. Quick, pee on it.

i have a grafting q iffin i might,, i tried to keep up on the topic in yer jernal but fell too far behind,
i am mildly interested because with the upcomming pot laws in nuckville one house is only legally allowed four plants so grafting one big mother, or micro mother in my case might be a useful tool. i think this has all been discussed here
but, what is the verdict please? do the grafts retain their original genetics one hundred percent?? or is there some mixing of blood happening?
i would think, in my case anyway, that a mixing of blood would not be the preferred outcome

Ok, well the verdict, not from me but from others who actually know what they're talking about, is - no. There is no genetic transfer. There is only some sort of 'influence' that occurs. That influence is important, and much desired by the gardeners that practice grafting, but it ends when the graft ends. Grow out a cutting of a grafted on strain, and it should be the same as it was pre-graft. Grow a seed from the fruit of a grafted tree, and you'll probably end up producing a somewhat different looking plant and fruit than the one you got the seed from.
And you're right- it has been discussed a little. Here- Weasel Forges Ahead and here a tiny bit Weasel Forges Ahead and I think a few other places in this journal. People keep asking me this stuff and making me work at googling to come up with answers. Also I asked UptheHoller2 about it. Do you know him? He has that 'Mountain- advice from the over 50 club' thread. He has quite a bit of agricultural experience and he told me that the mingling effect of the graft is not a change at genetic level.
I also meant to ask him what happened to UptheHoller1, but forgot.
And yes I do believe that it could make a perfectly good option as a multi-strain mother plant. Grafting the way I'm doing it is super easy- now that I've done a few it's a piece of cake. The multi-strain mother plant idea kind of seems scary, having all the eggs in one basket like that, but as growers we usually seem to limp along pretty good without accidentally killing off many important plants - so I think it would be ok.
One of my veg plants has a fair pile of grafts on it now. It's a Panama, with several Malawi and Mama Thai grafts on it. Also it had two different Golden Tigers grafted on to it, in several places each. One recently turned out to be a hermie so I removed those grafts. The other GT is unsexed, so I'll have to cut those grafts off as well if it turns out male or hermie. Also I have some Honduras grafts on it. That's all my sativas I have going at the moment.
It's a bit of a confusing mess right now, that plant. But when the grafting action settles down I'll organize it better, into a less confusing mess, maybe with the strains isolated into sections more, and figure out a better labelling system for the individual strains on it.

Why don't you try it? I'd suggest using a thicker stalk like 3/16" or even 1/4" if possible. Makes it very easy. Way easier than those scrawny little stems I've been pissing around with. All you have to do is notch them together and then wrap them up for ten days or so. Follow my handy tutorial, or send $37.99 for the handy bonus hints package.

....these [Thai x OGK] seeds are the biggest seeds i have ever seen,, beauties,, i must call them 'nuts', not seeds

Cool. Yeah I noticed that with the seeds from the Thai crosses as well. What do you think of the OG Kush? Sorry if I missed it in your journal, but you must have smoked some by now. Everyone seems to like that strain. Think it may be a good replacement for the PrimaDonna Chunk?

...this year i had the seeds already and my planning was better,,.... the plant is doing great,, hardy things,, just an fyi
...i am out for now friendhave more q's but i forget,,

i will fix that.

Yes please. Ask away. I like questions- sorry it took so long to reply- but after the first one got deleted it was harder to get back to.
So you think I should sprout an auto?
I've got plenty of auto seeds and have never grown one. Might be nice to exercise my rights as a law abiding citizen of the Canadian future and plunk one in the greenhouse. I'd have to explain it to my kid then though... (and him to his mom which is the actual real issue).

Been too busy (as usual blah blah) to properly journal lately. Lots going on. Work, stuff like that. Also I'm busy working on making 'pain cream' -batch #2 right now. It does seem to work, but tonight I've been having pretty bad muscle spasms and it's definitely not a magic fix. Or I just haven't perfected the mix yet. Might have to start looking into edibles soon.
Strained and racked the bud wine tonight as well. Still smells nice.

Most of the plants have a few issues going on- something to do with a different bloom formula I was using, I think. But they're ok. A few harvests coming up in the next couple weeks. Cheese, then Peyote
Purple and the Afghan cross. Then the PC, then probably the Chocolate Mint in a few weeks.
The grafted plant is happy in the flowering room. She is the one that gets the special treatment right now.

Honduras is about 24" now and heading upwards pretty fast.

A few issues going on? Your garden looks lovely. I wish I saw the same stability in mine.:thumb:

I stumbled onto something that I wanted to share with you, since you're a Sativa lover as well. In my life, it seams I can't escape the stronger Indicas, so I always have to smoke slow, literally starting with a single hit and wait'n'see if I can smoke more. If I find I did smoke too much, I've found that Pedialyte dials my buzz back a bit to a more manageable level. It's not that strong of a counter influence, but I do notice that it immediately removes the "dry" from my eyes which is a step in the direction I want to go when too stoned. I only tried this with the 16oz. drink mix packets, but when I used to get the larger quart sized bottles to get through 24-40 hour roughnecking shifts, I'm willing to bet that the original pedialyte in bottles would be more influential. Just a random finding I wanted to share.

I'll think on the beer thing next time I have trimmings. Could be quite disgusting :laughtwo:

I had to google pedialyte. I've never seen it before but it's possible we have the equivalent under a different name.
Skybound do you know about smelling fresh ground pepper? It can pretty much stop a weed paranoia panic attack in its tracks. Also just brings on a sense of calm and clarity even if I'm not paranoid- just cloudy feeling from being...stoned. Also grounding if I'm too busy and agitated from smoking sativas to relax.

Sometime I'll do a 'problem tour'. To me actually that is often what visits to my grow basically are. Not big problems- just fairly big imperfections I guess. Just the way I look at things- sometimes people take it the wrong way and think I'm complaining, when actually I like talking about the problems because they're interesting and I know they must be solvable. Plus sometimes my own screw ups make me laugh.

I wish I could find a list of strains that had the same terpenes as pepper to breed some paranoida-free weed

:high-five: :passitleft:

Weasley, cheers for the grafting info. Most useful indeed. Good to hear too. Might be important one day soon. Brings grafting back into the realm of a possibility again. Thx agin. Chat soon

DO I smell pepper grafts?

Edit - I think pedialyte is for babies. A new mom told me to drink them to get through tough shifts. It's like gatorade mixed with 5 hour energy and probably some other stuff that's good for the body.
