Lol. Let me check my office and peruse my books. Ummm... no. We shouldn't.
Let's not.
Most of my trades involve stuff like seafood, work trades, jars of homemade jelly...

I guess anytime we start looking at the world through black and white lenses we are in serious danger of becoming douchebags. What pricks one persons interest might just sound like a prick to someone else.

You just call me a prick? That's the second time today I've been called it, only woke up hour ago :rofl:

Well we won't be getting that sort of 'legal' around here any time soon. We are getting, maybe- in another year once they get their shitstem properly working, the sort of 'legal' where we are 'allowed' to grow four plants each, but only smallish ones. Or we can kiss our doctors ass for permission, if we have the right doctor that is, send in all our personal info, fill out the right forms and bend over to apply for a licence to grow enough to produce a whopping two grams a day, subject to grow site inspections any time from the government.
Also there are brand new 'stiff penalties' (their words) including 14 years in jail for providing pot to anyone 17 years old and under. Last I checked that was a whole lot of people destined for jail.
'Goodbye mom and dad I'll miss you- see you in 14 years...'
I assume that if you use more than the regulated amount, you'd still be allowed to buy the government produced pot- heavily sprayed and shitty by all accounts. So far they don't seem to be saying anything much about where the money is going, but I hear that prisons are expensive to run.

On paper they're expensive to run, at least when you're trying to doctor up your records (from hiding all that weed money they don't like saying anything about) but once they're built not a lot of cash goes towards the tenants. Things will get way better if you get you some old greedy rich white guys to run $hit it's nothing but happiness good will towards men and prosperity where I'm at togetherness and compassion is oozin' outta people's pores it's like living in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

the victory party is good the victory party is right :trance:

Talk about the cash trade involved? You mean the part where in real life (if there were no laws against it) a pot plant would cost maybe five bucks to grow and produce about 2-3 pounds? My favorite subject! :thumb:

Yeah, that's the part of this whole scene that fascinates me the most. I recently listened to someone explain why cannabis has to cost what it does, and I'm sorry, but those fees aren't as necessary as our politicans seem to believe they are. The greed that came into play around this plant is breathtaking.

Let them quibble among themselves. I'll spend the rest of my life explaining how easy and affordable it is to grow your own. Change the world one household at a time.

It boggles the mind how we legalized and managed to keep cannabis underground. PA just passed our version of medical cannabis that makes home growing illegal and limits "acceptable conditions" to a meager handful of maladies. Of course it includes children with seizures and ignores senior citizens with bone disease and arthritis. Let's make them stick to the opioids that have worked so well.

They have no idea what they're trying to stop. :laughtwo: The flip side is they also have no idea that we all have endocannabinoid systems and this behavior on their part smacks of genocide at its worst and pure ignorance at its best. And these guys have a 90% re-election chance. I'll lay you odds that even Trump will get re-elected. We brought this on ourselves by not being more careful about electing.

This one is a great article. :rolleyes3

Washington state pot law overhaul: Marijuana tax reset at 37 percent

Under the previous three-tier excise tax system, there was a 25 percent tax on the producer, a 25 percent tax on the processor and a 25 percent tax on the retailer. Under the new measure, that structure is compressed to one 37 percent tax at the retail point of sale.

"It was absolutely imperative to have an update and refresh of the initiative law," he said after the signing. Under the initiative for the recreational system, a previous three-tier excise tax system was set up to impose a 25 percent tax on the producer, a 25 percent tax on the processor and a 25 percent tax on the retailer. Under the measure, that structure is compressed to one 37 percent tax at the point of sale at the retailer.

Under the new law, starting Wednesday, the excise tax is one that everyone would have to pay, both medical marijuana patients and recreational users. However, patients who are in a registry that takes effect in July 2016 created under another bill passed by the Legislature this year would be exempt from sales tax on their purchases. But current collective gardens would get a sales tax exemption up until that time.

but wait.. we live in a state where taxing medicine is illegal and against our state constitution. AND "exempt" somehow equals 11% Gotta love political math.

I guess we worry that the fight will start to fizzle out after these initial so called legalization moves on the parts of governments. Hopefully it won't, because obviously 'we' (whoever the hell that is) are unstoppable if we don't fizzle out.
Having said that I sure seem to hear a lot of people saying how wonderful it is that it will be 'legal' in Canada and we will be 'allowed to grow our own'. I'm not sure who these people are, or why they seem so satisfied with the controlled regulated restricted scenario, or why I feel differently than them. Maybe they're just.. younger or something. I don't know. I don't know what it's like elsewhere but the young people around here don't seem at all rebellious like we used to be. Too busy staring at their phones to really care about much of anything, it seems. Or maybe they are plotting the revolution on facebook or something. Hard to tell. Sure doesn't seem like it though. Anyway... I hope we don't fizzle.

I think I'll pass on that trade Potchimp. Real tempting though...
I've got a bear that keeps coming over the last couple weeks and trashing my stuff when I'm away. That thing ate about a gallon of ketchup yesterday, not to mention the mayo, a couple dozen eggs, two pounds of butter, lots of milk and whipping cream, all the cheese, the sausages, the bacon, and well....all the other food that I used to have but don't anymore.
Oh yeah it also ate my garbage and my compost pile. Flattened a lot of furniture and shelving too.
Maybe he can outtalk the coons and mice and squirrels but I'm pretty sure old Don will have to build a wall for this guy. I guess that leaves me to do all the work and pay for it- so what good is Don then?

Just back for a millisecond really- cleaned up the catastrophe and threw water at the girls. Found another mouldy bud- on the PCMT- the larger plant this time. Clearly not a good strain for my high RH place.
The Peyote Purple at 25 days. Beginning to show some signs of the frostiness that I saw in it's sister- the NOTY one.

Hex plants are filling out. I'm reducing their feed each week now. They'll be up for harvest in a few weeks and then I'll have more space. (Yeah right...)

IMG_98744.JPG

Everything doing fine. The ripe plants sure show up yellow in the photos- Critical Cheese at rear left and CBD Therapy at rear right. I'll harvest the Cheese as soon as I have time to do it properly. The CBD Therapy is just standing still hopefully growing more CBD...

Hang in there buckaroo. :hugs:  Bears..... Geez.....

That last shot was cute. Lol! You fall over?

Here.... Take a moment......:passitleft:

Now get back out there. :kisstwo:

Just trying to squeeze it all in the photo... I do feel like falling over though, come to think of it. Thanks. I'll go do that right now.

Bears always wander through here, and we get along fine. Usually they don't make themselves quite this comfortable though. I have a feeling this one isn't going to last the summer, especially if it takes its pushy attitude to any other cabins, which it will.

I take the same attitude with the local crackheads. They usually burn out fairly quickly.
I'm not sure which is worse... a bear busting in to feed or a crackhead breaking in to steal.... perhaps the thieves leave slightly less mess and damage.

heya, Tead & WC! I haven't grown any PC's, but I have noticed that some of the stickiest plants grow out ugly, dropping leaves all over the place as they mature. I think they need heavy training while in veg to keep them in control. Maybe heavier feedings? It must take a lot of energy to produce all that gooey goodness.

Ya know... I sure can't answer any of those questions or even try to start a discussion regarding their best growing technique.... but I've decided to keep them going in my local SoG, so we may be able to get to the bottom of the issue. Perhaps Weas will lend a hand in helping me solve The Great PC Mystery.

When I first read on 420 that there were legal states for Cannabis I was pretty impressed and if honest pretty envious but nowadays not so much so. Reading about all the taxation and fees involved in licensing these growers, plus the limitations set on each grower now I'm not so keen and think anything other than decriminalisation will be counter productive over here. We had it once where Cannabis was decriminalised for a short while unfortunately it didn't last long, but I'd like it again, much rather the Police that knew weed was being smoked, grown or used in other fashion turn a blind eye without having to get into legalities and the possibility that the government want their cut. It's all starting to sound like it was too good to be true, and it was kind of thing. I think I'll stick to the cloak and dagger hiding in the shadows growing for free thanks, well as free as it gets with the pricing on products once the manufacturer realises that people want their product to grow Cannabis with, amazing how all of a sudden there is a manufacturer's taxation on the product, it seems greed isn't confined to governments alone regarding this hobby of ours.

Besides that I hear your point about people 'finding' their illness for the benefit of being able to use the drug 'legally', we have the same kind of thing happen here for monetary benefits. Some are indeed unwell and do benefit from the system, but I'm just as sure that there are plenty of people who go on a long hard soul search for anything they can use to join that system too. Seems to be pretty much the way it will go for medicinal legalisation vs recreational legalisation in my eyes. It should be all or nothing, the current way of things seems doomed to failure otherwise. Personally I'd love to be able to grow my own and smoke recreationally, I smoked it for years recreationally before I became ill or was finally diagnosed and labelled should I say, did the weed contribute to that? I have no idea, all I know is that I don't flip out (as much or as often anyway) when I'm smoking, and I do when I'm not. But I've been like that for as long as I remember, long before the almost 30 years of taking Cannabis.

It tickled me when I read about the taking Cannabis anally, that puts it in the 'enema' zone for me. I'll do it if it saves my life but I'm just not into it for recreation, although it's surprising how many people do have them on a regular basis. Each to their own definitely in my eyes on that one.

Plants are looking great as ever Weasel and you've got some good looking buds over there. You were talking trades, how about trading me some of those good looking buds for some of my poorly looking popcorn colas? :)

I'd be very happy to make that trade Kriaze. Come over for a visit and a chat anytime and bring your so called poor buds.
To be honest, any loosening of the chains on cannabis is welcome in a way. Prohibition brings a dark force into our lives and causes a lot of trouble. So- whether the documents are in order or not, there's just more wiggle room mentally when the grip lessens a little. Like I mentioned in the first post of this journal- there used to be so much more running- more of a climate of fear. The overall local public fear level is hard to measure, but I know that mine used to be much higher, and I don't miss that shit at all.
There may or may not be a bit of an generational gap between -people who are grateful to the government for their coolness and generosity for 'giving' us 'legalization'
and -people who've been around a bit longer and don't believe that the government is giving us anything, and they're just a bunch of sleazebags trying to seize money and control of something that 'we the people' gained by fighting against the government which brought in these stupid laws in the first place.
In any case- in the interests of being able to run free and smoke weed when we want- yes, it's easier to be allowed to grow four plants than no plants.
Let me make a quick count here...
Four! Right on the money. Well that's good isn't it?

Tead thanks for bumping that comment by AK. It was one that kind of got lost in the shuffle when I was busy.
Definitely true that the PC is a heavy feeder and shows all kinds of blotches when you don't feed high enough. I tried doing one round with it once where I fed it at full strength as listed on my nute bottle- which with any supplements especially, is very high and usually causes nute burn. It didn't burn, but that one was a seething mass of mould. The mouldiest PC I ever grew- it just wouldn't quit and I kept amputating and amputating till the bitter end. So I wondered for a while whether high nute levels could have made it more succeptible. I never could find any backup for that weird theory.
I also notice that the PC doesn't do all that well at the end if you starve it too long. Sugar leaves die back into the buds quite quickly, look like shit and cause more mould. It's not one that seems to ripen well on week after week of water only.
I think that even if the PC is managed perfectly- it will always be kind of an ugly plant. The bud structure is weird. A big part of it is that floppiness. It's so sticky. You take all these cotton candy sticks and flop them down all over the place on top of each other- you can't expect it to work out that great. Still lots to learn about how to make the most of it though.

I only see four. :laughtwo: Reminded me of HizzyB's garden. He lives in a state that limits him to six plants, and he grows them in hydro to max out potential. I agree with Kraize, that this is beginning to look somewhat worse than when we started. Growing pains were inevitable, and most politicans have yet to understand the importance of cannabinoids to health and wholeness. Most don't even know they have an endocannabinoid system.

Baby steps, but moving forward at all times. My dream is a world where they leave cannabis alone. You don't regulate a weed. How do you realistically plan to enforce those limits? People will simply remain safely underground.

Yeah exactly. It's always frustrating dealing with control freaks- myself being more of a freedom freak. But reality is I will just ignore them in the end anyway- the best way to treat control freaks.
