Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

slowgro, can you help this poor sweet girl? needs to keep plants in 6 gallons odf soil alive for 10 days, thoughts?

i think she leaves in several hours:thanks:

Don't worry  I will just delay my departure for monday, that way they will only sit alone for 7 days, and should be no problem like that :circle-of-love:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

How can the water flow out unless there is a place to allow air into the space that the drained water leaves behind?

Here's part of my problem, an example for my ,,,,, you know

I like to read and I read a lot, but I could not tell you the name of one character in the chapter I read 12 hours ago.(that's my excuse)

Is this why the plastic tub won't work? :hmmm: I will re-read your explanation, I'm sure the answer is in there.

Air can only get in through the same tube the water comes out of. For the 55 gallon drum idea you would probably need 1/2 inch tubing, or even garden hose. You would have to make sure the tube wasn't down in the drainage gravel - you want the wet soil blocking the air. When set up just right you would not get run-off out the bottom, or just a little.

One thing you can do is put plastic or foil over most of the soil surface to slow down evaporation - give you an extra day or two.

For really 'quick and dirty' you could set the pots in some kind of large pan(s). Then use any kind of bottle(s) you can prop up between the pots. Find something about pencil sized to raise the mouth of the bottle. The pan will fill to the depth of your spacer, when air gets blocked, and then stay at that depth, evaporation replenished from the bottle until it runs out.

Standing water is not ideal, but if not deep it could get you through.

I think we have similar sleep habits. Here it is 3:00am again.
I still kind of remember what a full night's sleep was like.

 :Namaste:

Re: Shout out!!

THIS is a SHOUT OUT!!!!!

please share thoughts or creative possibilities

Out of state friends of mine have to go away for 10 days.

They have nobody close by they can ask to come water the 3 to 4 inch/ 10cm babies,

of course they will give the babies a good watering before they go,

would leaving water for them in the water tray be a good idea?

Would hot temps over 95° F/ 35° C, make that tray water go bad?

Is 10 days, too long for them to go w/ out water?

I'd love some creative ideas shared to keep the plants alive &

I need some advice to share with them and

I want the young girls to be alive when they return home!

Please share any idea or possible solution you can think of to help great people!! :circle-of-love::thankyou:

There is a Indoor Watering System that Lee Valley sells that may be the best solution to watering when your friends are out of town.

In 1964 - I was 16 - My family drove around Europe in a VW Bus, camping and staying in hostels. We went from Venice to Zagreb and then to Graz, Austria. A child of the Cold War - my only venture into a Communist country. I remember spectacular, rugged, lush landscapes, friendly people, and a delicious sambhur steak! I couldn't see what was so different. It was just a few days, but fond memories.
:thumb:

I would guess it's a good climate for growing :high-five:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

I did some research last night when i saw this issue arise, and I came up with a big fat nothing.

Every 'rig' I came across basically drained the first day. Nothing that would last for 10 days. Not even 5. I was thinking 5, cause if they watered the day they left, then again on day 5, you would be ok until day 10.

I've already postponed my vacation by 3 days, leaving them 7 days until I come back, even if they need water on day 5, another 2 days shouldn't make much more of a difference between life and death! :high-five:

Re: Watch This Flux - 1st 420 Outdoor Fluxing - Presents Fluxy Lady - Fully Restraine

a great thread from a 420 member that did not deserve to get busted,

they took his crop and let him keep all the gear.

I hope we see him back here, soon. (the thread has more likes, than any thread, I have seen, ever)

IMO, a very worthy share, for indoor growers still contemplating the benefits of defoliating.
