I am trying to quick-dry and still preserve the terpines,

rather than have them in the air all over the house :)

These are before the fan oven

Alex, have you ever disconnected the cable from the ballast to the bulb whilst the ballast was still plugged in?

Before taking the samples and pics today that's what some idiot did

and the HPS would not come on again after I plugged it back in

I have the big 250 watt cfl in it's place atm.

Great Frost Buds! :tommy: :woohoo: :headbanger:

Very well done, glad to see those shade leaves intact!

Always let bulb cool before re-starting after any power interruption.

Yup "idiot" Nevr power up a hot bulb! Always let bulb cool before re-starting after any power interruption.

Hi Trichomes :ciao:

The bulb was off for over an hour before I plugged it back in again :)

The problem was that the whole time, the ballast was still plugged in.

Well Ringmaster Rico Suavay, I'm giving you reps on those photos; They're phenomenal! But I'm sad To say I have to take them back for the idiot move with the lights.

:whoa::idea::whoa:

Just joking! :cheesygrinsmiley: + reps
As a matter of fact Trichs how often have we turned off a bedroom or living room light & turned it right back on.

The Light was off for over an hour. (thanks for the reps, btw :ciao:)

The Light was off for over an hour.

The Light was off for over an hour.

But it was only disconnected from the ballast. For over an hour.

The ballast was still plugged in. For over an hour.

For over an hour. Light was off. For over an hour.

For over an hour. For over an hour. For over an hour.

When I reconnected Light to ballast, nothing.

I then realised the idiot's mistake and unplugged the ballast

I plugged it back in and tried it again, but quickly gave up and screwed the Cfl into the socket.

I'll try again tomorrow :)

PS. I was posting at the same time you were posting.

It's all good, Reg :high-five:
I'm just making sure I don't get anymore "advice" from skim-reading drive-by commentators :thumb:

I directed the question at Mr.801 because we are ballast-twins :)

Rico, What is the purpose of a ballast? :hmmmm:

First of all, the Clipper doesnt need 2 hours in the Oven sir. Unless you want to make sure your fire alarms still work. :):)

Sine the ballast was plugged in for over an hour, over an hour, over an hour, with no light attached,no light attached, no light attached, do you think It may have blown a fuse? blown a fuse? blown a fuse?

I assume ballasts are kinda like car amplifiers and have an internal fuse?

A ballast transforms the regular electricity by limiting the current and increasing the frequency to power the lamp.

Most lights other than incandesent bulbs need a ballast.

Cfls have a ballast at the screw-end. HPS lamps have a seperate ballast (which is good, because it gets quite hot)

Hi Spimp :ciao:

I took the clipper away before they went to the oven :)

There is a fuse in the plug, but it was fine.

Maybe 14 hrs of rest will sort it :scratchinghead:

The external fuse is also common in Auto amplifiers. But most they have a top secret internal fuse that 'speaker shop guy' doesnt tell you about. Instead he says your amp is blown. Than changes the fuse and resells it. :)

I know nothing about ballasts, and not much about most other things. :) But My guess is once the ballast is room temperature, time wont change weather it works or not. But I digress...

Your buds are looking marvelous. Are the damaged leaf tips still from the Forgotten Fan incident?

I often find that a rest is as good as a change :) We'll see.

The damaged leaves are all from the "incident", yes. They all went crispy

She stopped drinking for 2 or 3 days. Kind of wrecked her potential, as the growth before the incident was so strong and healthy.

I prentend not to care anymore, but deep down I am still kicking myself for being an idiot.

And now again, with the ballast....(the inside fuse and circuits are cast in resin, btw)

Can you kick yourself with both feet? :scratchinghead:
