On the subject of Aquaponics,

I have been using squeezed out fishcrap from my aquarium filter.

Apart from the broken down plant and fish matter,

there are millions of nitrifying bacteria in there as well.

There is a supplement for ponds, which is just freeze dried nitrifying bacteria.

I wonder if that would be a good watering/compost tea additive?
 
It's like a big soil-flea, but it's not a flea. it eats dead leaves. I think its a primary decomposer.

Basically, they help make soil.

Here I find them outside anywhere dark and moist.

whenever I pick something up, they are underneath.

they don't like light and stay underground. If they can.

This one had it's bum sticking out and wasn't very happy when I poked it.

It jumped about like mad, until I buried it under some soil again :)
 
Wow, I had a lot to get caught up on! I was also sad to see Peejay get chastised a bit harshly in my humble opinion. I don't think he meant anything by it. I also did not think you came accross as harsh Rico, I just thought you were being open and honest about your reaction and feelings, which is perfectly reasonable. I remember getting saber slapped once or twice, and I know it is painful for both parties. I hope you don't join the dark side now peejay, we all still have love for you. What it comes down to is that this is your journal Rico, so it is your rules as far as I am concerned. If you say don't use the word 'green' in your journal, then I will use 'forrest', 'avocado', 'lime' or 'mint'. Participation is voluntary, and inclusion is a privilege.

I was really laughing when I read everyone's responses to smoking for growing. I did mean it in a an absolute way, I had not considered doing both intermittently. Wow are you guys analytically and deep! I got a little lost in you answer Rico, I found it quite poetic and deep, but I don't think I fully comprehendid it :( I got a little nute burn :rofl: Personally I would pick growing. Ask me again when my back is out, and I will probably change my mind though. I missed the sleepy aquaponics joke, but then when Spimp got it, I connected the dots! @Spimp, the money isn't real till you cash it out. Trust me...I wish I had my FoolTilt monies now, oh and Ultimatebeat.(fake names for real online poker sites, that might as well have been fake)

The plants are flowering so fast now! I really like that dawn/dusk photo mode you found. Good vibes coming your way. :ganjamon:
