Visualize Whirrled Peas: A Perpetual Garden By 013

I have not updated in a while, not much to tell. I lost my mother plant but have 2 of her daughters still going.

Also have an invasion of bloomer crickets. Yes it’s the clap again in the form of fungus gnats which are still lingering somehow and my first run in with russet mites or hemp mites. So let this be a warning about keeping a clean room. It’s not that my room was dirty but there were a few 7.5 gallon airpots in the corner from my last grow. Apparently I chopped the plant just as mites were getting established I guess. Anyway by the time I noticed the mites in the unused pot they were spread into my clone & mother grow spot and I inadvertently transferred them everyfreakingwhere and yes that’s a word!

Because of the mite infesration I’ve stunted my new little auto Low Ryder so it’s gonna yield one tiny pen joint in the end but the Hawaiian Haze cbd plant should pull thru, the other auto Alaskan Purps is probably stunted too.

Shit I can’t grow a friggin auto....

Man, sorry to hear of your issues but glad to see you back again brother!

Thankfully I have only had fungus gnats. The mosquito bites went in last week and seem to have really helped.

Take a trip to GA in a few more weeks and I can hook ya up

Hey THG!

Thanks for that man but It’s all good. It’s great to be back! Oh wow GA huh, I’m not too far up the road. Thank you for your most generous offer!! I‘ve got a couple gallon jars stored up plus a bunch of cobs and oil too so I”m pretty good on stash but losing the mother plant delayed my plans. No worries tho I have regrouped!

Yes those mosquito bits are good, mix in soil and also mix in water & soak for 24 hours. I’ve got yellow sticky traps covered with gnats. I broke out the Neem so hopefully things will turn around soon.

Thank you for checking in on me man - I appreciate that!

I’m too disgusted to take pics of the puny stunted shite. If I take the camera I’m there I’m going to be compelled to video the tiny plants being torched.... but not in a good way!

Let me see if I can turn anything around but for now they are really pissing me off. Even the 2 clone daughters look like crack whores that procreated with meth whores to borrow one of your Trala-isms.

I’m still holding beans but want to ensure the mites are gone before I waterboard a new prisoner.

Was talking with another grower about russet mites about a week ago. He recommends using perlite and DE on the soil surface. Evidently russet mites are in the soil too. He then placed the pot over a tray with BT inoculated water to catch any trying to jump ship. He then would vac up the DE and reapply. Said that he watched the bodies pile up. Sounds disgusting.
You can use a mix of iso for the foliage or one of the many oil treatments depending upon what stage your grow is in. Most have soybean oil or rosemary oil in them to suffocate the mites

Hey VG!

You are a jewel lady, I appreciate you so much!

My mites were marching in lockstep on container edges. I know - right? I’ve read where DE is not effective when wet. Supposedly when applied dry it cuts thru exoskeleton but when wet they ride tiny jet skis or do the backstroke. IDK - but I sure hate them. But heck yeah - I will give that whirl. Also I can see how the tray would catch escaped convicts for sure. Adopted.... Killer!

GanjaGrandaddy said 1ml of milk, 1 liter of water, dish soap and pinch of tobacco sprayed on was effective. Not sure if that was effective for fungus gnats, mites or both.

I had previously treated them with mosquito dunk water soaked for 24 hours and watered in, then blasted leaves both undersides and tops with Neem & BT, coated the soil surface with those same 2 systemics. Nothing is anywhere near flower cycle right now - I have just 2 clone daughters and a couple of stunted autos. I’m gonna reapply the Neem and BT dose again to break the cycle. I’ll cover them in perlite and DE dust much like Vesuvius buried villagers in Pompeii

Told ya I could kill or stunt autos like the greenest greenhorn newbie ever.... I’m toeing the line

Not much else happing in the garden lately, I’ve got a twisted sister, yes twisted leaves on clone sister #2, while her twin #1 is not experiencing a problem. I’ve got both mosquito bits and dunks mixed in soil and as top dress, I’ve hit them with mosquito dunk water and Neem for a few weeks with no improvement. Now thanks to bro SmokingWings and his mention of root aphids I’m dosingl with Captain Jacks Spinosad. We will see about critters dining on my roots, bam can you taste that Spinosad?

In other news the Hawaiian Haze got a light trim and the half stunted Ak Purps is slowly flowering.

Dropped 1 Alaska Purple bean in water yesterday. I’m still hanging on to 1 more AK purps bean!
She slid into a 7.5 gallon container of soil this evening. This is an old photo from last bean drop!

Fungus gnats cause twisted leaves?

Hey THG!

Thanks for stopping by..... buds, rolling papers & torch are on the table, help yourself!

Probably not fungus gnats, I think it may be root aphids. I assumed my flyers were fungus gnats but SmokingWings alerted me that it could be the aphids.

The leaves are green but a pale shade of green and it’s hard to describe but it’s obvious between the color and the twist that something is not working right. They get plenty of BT but have not had Spinosad in a long time. I’m spraying Spinosad on all the foliage and the top of the soil, hope it clears soon!

Light green like mine??

My leaves twisted early on and I had what I thought was mite damage in some leaves.....now I'm wondering ha. A few of my fliers below....look like fungus gnats but I'm not really sure

I can’t get good pics really so I view my critters under mini microscope and pics are even harder to attempt. Not really pale but just have a weak washed out appearance and the leaf twist. I’ve got calcium long cooked into soil so that shouldn’t be a problem. I had the big multi species summer of 2020 fungus gnat & mite orgy but fungus gnats and root aphids are very similar in appearance.

Maybe I had root aphids instead of fungus gnats... IDK? But I’m gonna nail them hard with the Spinosad foliar and soil sprays to see what happens

I'm thinking of trying pro mix next grow. Seems gnats and other little bitchy bugs are less likely.
