Could be wishful thinking but I feel like they've responded to that increase in light. Should be able to start bending bits tomorrow.

I found out the nutrients should have 30mg of magnesium per ml of the hydro grow to 1L. So with what I'm feeding and what's in the report I'm at 51mg per litre.

I'll take that as solid confirmation. Ha ha. Maybe I'll just keep a close eye on them over the next few days before intervening with anything else.
 
Looking to me they like the extra light.
Were your at i would be pushing 500/600
On the old photone app par map wise.
Also not a fan of the kantana roots myself.
I lose it week 2 and replace with silicon. ;)

I'll check the ppfd tomorrow. I'm using the silicon too. Might drop the katana roots then.

Does the job to well.
And takes focus of above ground.
And the roots just keep growing crazy.
Well thats my to cent anyway.
My ladies always perk up more when i remove it .
Or maybe even try every other feed TBH never tried that.
Cause it 100% does what the label says.

Thanks bud. I appreciate the help and advice. I'll keep an extra close eye on them and be prepared to administer some calmag.

I've found some more info about interpreting our hard water. As you know the calcium part contains carbonates... the 290ppm only contains 116ppm of actuall useable calcium, 40% of the original 290. The other 60% being the carbon and oxygen. (If you want me to show the sums no probs, if interested)

So if you look at the overall calcium to magnesium ratio that you want 3:1 you're sitting nearly right.

You have 116ppm of usable calcium in your water, so you want around 38ppm of magnesium.

Cheers man that's cool to know. The Shogun rep said the nutes and hard water should be supplying enough but then I spoke to the scientist behind it all and she said when using LED I may need to add a little extra. Hopefully find that sweet spot soon. Keeping 5 different strains totally happy on the same feed is always going to be a challenge but I should be able to hit a balance that works.
 
Lol. At least your 5 aren't being fed from a single reservoir..so there's that bonus...but yep 5 different strains are gonna make you dance.

And that's strain dependant also....so more fun for you with 5 different ones. :thumb:

I just love to make things hard for myself. :laugh: One day I'll find one or two strains that I just love and will stick with them for a while. White Widow has to be one of my favourites so far.
 
Things may change now that weed stores should be opening soon. But most of my smoking for the last decade has been what I've grown and no matter how good it is in the beginning, I'm tired of it by the next season. :rolleyes:

Yeah, i do that with the dark devil, I'm just about to germinate my 19th one..
I'm building up a little list of plants I want regularly in the rotation.
I can only grow 10 plants a year in my system so I don't want any mehh disappointments ..
Plus it helps you dial in their needs.
I'll leave one or two experimental spots open.

Soon? You know something I don't? :laugh: Will still grow my own anyway. Yeah I get that mate. Always that desire for something new.
