Vetsmoke's Mars Hydro Hempy Happening - Powered By The FC3000

They had a slow start but got them singing now.
Looking good Vet!

I don't know what song they're singing now but soon they'll be singing "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by the Police! :)

I was a little late watering them this time. Only looking a little sad though. Most are around 7" tall now and the Skunk is a whopping 9.5". I want them a minimum of 1ft before I flip. They need to get a move on. Lol.

Couldn't stop myself and ended up ordering some more seeds today. I blame the heat  Purple Dick from @CaliSeedStore should be on the way soon. I liked the sound and look of them. Being a total manchild, the name made me giggle too.

Was a toss up between those and Grandaddy Banner. Both great sounding strains that should offer a bit of colour in the garden.

The Mrs made the mistake of asking me what I want for my birthday in a couple of weeks. Shopping list for a drip irrigation system now being assembled.
You say a mistake, I say very sweet.

That last time the Mrs. asked me what I wanted was when she asked would I prefer a wood or metal coffin.

Day 45. Got around to removing the FC3000 driver today and mounting it outside the tent. Might help to lower the temp a little in this heatwave. Also gives another angle for pics.

Since the Skunk is wanting to take over I've moved her into the middle and I've starting training her two longest branches into available space. She'll end up with a couple more colas than the rest.

Snipped off some lower growth again today. Left all fan leaves for now.

Looking awesome mate they have started speeding up a bit :cheesygrinsmiley: what PH and EC are you running? And are you using any extra Calmag?
pH is 5.6-5.8 and I haven't measured EC. Started adding calmag the last week or two. I think that and bumping up the lighting did the trick to get them going. They seem happier now. Got a feed last night so hopefully they don't suffer too much with the heat today. I run lights off 10:00 - 16:00 anyway so they should be okay.

Yep it's very warm today! Where I am it's going to hit 31/32c today! My lights are on 24hr in the veg tent with the humidifier running constantly and 5pm-5am in the flower which is a life saver as it's definitely the coolest part of the day at the mo.

Your pH seems spot on mate but I would be measuring the food to. Hempy buckets are basically hydro as there is no real medium to hold any nutrients. Without checking the EC it's a guessing game and you could be drastically over/underfeeding. Just my tuppence mate I did a couple of hydro runs a few years back and learnt the hard way :thumb:

Think we've hit 38C here. Getting uncomfortable but been in much worse.

Yeah I've just been following the manufacturers feeding calculator so far. I have a PPM meter kicking about and I think that one can measure EC too. Just a cheap one I got with the pH meter but should give me an idea of where it's at. I'll dig it out later.

I'll probably go back to soil but I want to keep trying different methods to learn and keep it interesting.

Super scorchio today. Reached 35C inside the tent. Cooler than outside still.

Tested the leftover feed mixed yesterday for EC & PPM. Results below.

The girls are looking okay though. Had to bend the Skunks 2 main branches down again. She's growing rapidly now. Filling in the gaps.

Hey Vet - yeah, the heat down here is oppressive, no respite
Good job on those but the pH seems a bit low?
I'm coco not hempy, but drifting up to 6.0ish seems to be fine for an NPK boost
I've temporarily switched to seedling LEDs as I figure any loss is better than 35°C+
Man, that is gonna be solid bud

The UK is going to boil! On the plus side the plants look happy. :)
Yeah we are not equipped for these temps. They finally fixed the air-con at work though. Ha ha.

It's not too fun is it. Yeah I give up with knowing what the best pH is for these as I've been told/read several different things. Some have advised as low as 5.5 others say 6.0. I just figured 5.6-5.8 is in the middle. Lol.
That's not a bad idea. If these were in flower I'd be doing more to reduce the temp. They don't seem too phased in veg though.

I just let it drift anywhere 5.7-6.2 as it crosses all the optimum ranges for each element ie micros at the low end and majors at the top end
