Vetsmoke85 First Grow Stealth Cabinet

I have an en-suite bathroom so I can turn on the extractor fan in there and it drowns everything out. It's just as the cabinet is in the bedroom it can be annoying during the night if it's too loud. I don't care but the Mrs will complain.

So I've replaced one of my DIY filters with the new can filter. Just running on the PC fan right now as don't have time tonight to install the inline fan too. Worth a go on the PC fan anyway. Seems to be pulling as much air through as with my DIY filter so will keep an eye on it and see how it performs as is.

PC fan is around 55 CFM and the inline fan is 63 CFM. Would it really be much better????

In this case, like I mentioned a while ago, it's not about volume, it's about overcoming the resistance pressure of the filter. Cfm are usually shown for unrestricted flow. Some inline fans are barely as good as a good PC fan. But most of them are way better. Your filter should generate between 50 and 100 Pa pressure, depending on the cfm that is beeing passed.

Well right now it appears it's performing better than my DIY filter was with the same fan. Smell has gone and so far the temp has sat at 23C so it's dropped a few. Could be a bit early to say as the lights haven't been back on that long but so far looking like a win.

Well ofcourse :) new filter has way bigger area, means more gaps for air to g through, hence lower pressure, more contact time with the carbon, less smell, longer fan life :)

I hate to say it, but I told you.. :) do not repeat my mistake, do not waste time and money on diy filter :) those available in store are cheap and way better :)
Ofcourse, one can make a fully functioning filter, but why bother when a readilyavailable costs 25 quid including flange :)

If only I'd really understood you the first time:laughtwo::adore: Oh well got spares for the next project now.

Here's that flange. Just push and twist onto the filter.

Here's it fitted. Had to take the prefilter off but will try and slide it back on tomorrow.

Not really done much with the girls today. They've had a feed 1ml BioGrow with 1L water. #2 has a quarter of the mix. #2 tied down a bit more as she is motoring along. #1 growing but slower.

Yeah, there's some days when all you can do is let 'em grow-
They're looking pretty good there,Vet -good job on maintaining their low profile,
and they're looking super healthy-no funny colors or anything-just healthy green!

Little bit more bending tonight and #2 had another feed. #1 Will likely get one tomorrow. Some before and after pics. Still looking strong. Not sure when to stop the bending and just let them go.

And #2 Just pulled down slightly more. She's getting too wide for the space now.

I was thinking now I've got the temps back down with that new filter in place that I would go back from 18/6 to 20/4 light cycle. This shouldn't have any negative impact on the plants at this stage should it?

Thanks mate. Hoping those extra 2 hours might help a bit. Just wanted to be sure changing it again wouldn't have any negative impact.
Good to go bro!
I've changed lights around on autos, many times. They will thank you for the extra light.

Sweet! Thanks chaps. Will have to do it tomorrow now. Just spent a while training and feeding them so the Mrs will get face on if I start mucking about with the timer now. Ha ha. They're still going strong. Took two lower fan leaves off #1. Think I'll have to think of some more creative ways to keep #2 in check as she's getting so wide with me trying to keep her low. Might have to double back on herself or something.
