Looking great Vape, I had to laugh when you called your underachiever "Peg" as I have an older small grumpy relative of the same name. The girls seem to be loving the air-pots, I had to repot my girls last night but my hydro store only had the very small air-pots which sucks as I was dying to use the 12.5L ones, had to get ordinary 18L pots as the plants were nearly rootbound but hey fuck it at least I can watch yours thrive and get some for next time.

:thanks: Vampire! Happy Easter to you!

Happy Easter to everyone else here at 420 Magazine...or happy Passover, as the case may be!

I'll have a chance to reply to comments a bit later...I'm actually spending my Easter doing the last little bit of demo in what will be my new flowering room. :)

I'll say this for now...I can hardly believe how fast the girls are growing!

:Namaste:

Re: Vapedogg223's Got a Brand New Bag! All Organic, High Brix, Nirvana Ice, 49 Plant

happy easter people, had the best day in ages today, took my mind away from it all just for a few hours,

even got an easter egg to pig out and eat now my kids are in bed,

can i ask about clones, do people get much success going strait to compost, when i grew 9 years ago i knew nothing technical, and i had only heard about taking cuttings so i just took cuttings and planted them direct into the compost and they all grew, this was without any rooting gel or powder, but times have changed and im more concerned about losing clones, so is it ok to use rooting gel and go into compost, im sure they was taking cuttings hundreds of years ago before rooting gel was around, so surely going strait into small pots with compost should be ok, have heard about using a glass of water as well, not sure what would be best to do, the cuttings would be grown in pots after so thinking to go strait to pots after dipping in rooting gel

Looks great Vdogg..

I'd like to comment on the connector.

It is minimal at best. It still allows for transmission of vibration. What you really want in a vibration situation is a totally flexible connector. Google "Flexible Duct Connector"

A simple DIY is a piece of neoprene sheeting or heavy canvas wrapped around the two joints where they meet. Keep at least a 1" space between the two adjoining surfaces. Wrap, clamp, and seal. You have a ZERO vibration connection.

Nothing is needed at the light to flex connection as it is already flexible. Optimally you would break any duct before it exits the space to prevent sound transmission via contact with walls or whatever. Total stealth if need be.

:thankyou: Smokz!

I agree...I just want to clarify that my ventilation system is completely suspended, and entirely flexible ducting, therefore I have no vibration issues myself. I just wanted to try these connectors since they are much more secure, won't tear up the flexible ducting, seal up tight every time because of the neoprene, and have the convenient mounting points.

They happen to be called Noise Reduction Clamps, but I'm in no way recommending them for that purpose!

Thanks bro...it's starting to look more like a forest now!

Just a thought, couldn't you use a Trellis net for an easy Scrog. Similar to Docbuds last grow. Not that I don't love SOG's but Twelve12 mentioned some valid points and I would think the Trellis would be really easy to setup. This is all of course up to you, I just think you would have a Badass Scrog

Everything in due time brother Stoned4daze! One of the principals I try to follow with my garden is that the first time I try anything, I take a minimalist approach to establish a baseline.

This grow would be an example...straight potting soil that has been mineralized, and a bit of manure, with the occasional fish/seaweed feeding. Once I have established a baseline I can see if different things I do improve, hurt or make make no difference at all in my grow.

I'm often discouraged when I see a new grower with like 15 different products that they start using all at once on their first grow. Then, when they have problems, they have absolutely no idea what's going on.

Unfortunately, even if they don't have problems, they have no idea if all those products (at a substantial cost, no doubt) are even helping their yield or improving the quality of their product.

I'm going to keep it simple this time around!

looking awesome, love the sog, they look pretty even, thats good cloning right there!! im checking in alot more than im posting :high-five::peace:

Cool brother! I know you're out there BID...feel free to jump in whenever, or just sit back and watch while toking away! :passitleft: It's all good here! :allgood:

Thanks bro! Things sure are moving pretty quickly right now! :thankyou: again!

I meant nothing against Pegs out there...just seemed to feel like the right name!

They do seem very happy, but I must say, I've not seen them grow quite like this before. I think I have to credit the mineralized soil and micro herd!

That sucks with the Air-Pots...most places can order the other sizes, but like you said, there's always next time!

That's basically what I did... :thumb: I used Light Warrior because I had it on hand, and I like that it contains mycorrhizae. I do think it's important for the fungi to colonize the roots of a young plant as early as possible...but any quality, living compost will contain mycorrhizae. I also have some opinions on mycorrhizae inoculants marketed for cannabis...I'll reserve them for the time being, but with prices in the multiple hundreds of dollars per pound, I'm sure you could take a guess at what I think about that!

I think the gel would work fine for soil applications, but many were designed for aeroponic cloners. It's also much more expensive than the powder, that was designed for soil. I happen to think the $5 a bottle powder worked pretty well for me!

A glass of water will work also. It's only my opinion, but I say root in the medium you'll be growing in!

Looks great so far. The neat organized rows look like an analog version of "Farmville". ;)

I love your DIY PVC plant stand/cart.

Re: Vapedogg223's Got a Brand New Bag! All Organic, High Brix, Nirvana Ice, 49 Plant

Hey everyone! My apologies for not being around for the last couple of days...I've been busy! My little demo project took the better part of the day on Sunday...half of which was clean-up...but, it's done now. Besides, that's the new grow room, not really anything to do with this grow!

The big news is that the the girls (maybe I'll have to start calling them little ladies now...:)) have been flipped to 12/12! They were all between 8 and 9 inches high yesterday, so I decided to pull the trigger!

Because of the crazy weather around here lately, I also decided to use the opportunity to move my photoperiod to nights. That will really make it much easier to control my room's temps when the weather gets warmer. So, late last night/early this morning I changed my bulb over to HPS, and changed over my timers. So tonight, after approximately 19 hours of dark, the girls will be on a 12/12 schedule. I know a lot of people claim a 24 hour or so dark period when they flip helps the flowering hormones build up, and kick-starts flowering...but I only extended the hours of darkness to accommodate the change in my photo period.

I also switched my moms over to the Gas Lantern Routine...but thats also not part of this grow! If you're interested in GLR, Twelve12 has done some great research on this, and discussed it in his blog here: The Gas Lantern Routine for Growing Cannabis If you are at all curious, I'd recommending giving it a read!

Here's what they looked like last night.
CIMG3439.jpg

I apologize for the crappy pic...I forgot to take some pictures before I pulled my hood down, but I wanted to show what they looked like. I took this one with a tripod, and available light from the CFL I was working by. It's not great, but you can get an idea. :)

The new tea mix and Yucca extract arrived yesterday, so I started brewing up a batch last night as well. I was planning on one more application of EWC tea, but the new stuff arrived sooner than I had expected, so I figured why wait!

I'll post some pics of the brewing process as well as the little ladies under the HPS later tonight or tomorrow...now I guess I'll have to start tinkering with my white balance next!

:Namaste:

Re: Vapedogg223's Got a Brand New Bag! All Organic, High Brix, Nirvana Ice, 49 Plant

thanks for the info, thinking about it now, i think it was powder i was using and not gel, i remember dipping the cuttings into the powder and into pots, im pretty sure it was powder, im going back 9 years so not 100%sure, but im leaning towards it been powder.

anyway thought id share this, i messed up my fim attempt and it grew back a small amount of growth but at the side of the stem, this stunted my plants growth, anyway i topped it instead and cut off about an inch of growth with tiny leaves on it, all i then done was push it into the soil next to the mother plant, i wasnt even inteded on growing it as i thought it was to small and i didnt even have rooting gel, anyway today i took my plant out veg room to pull some leaves out the way and tie branches back and i noticed this little thing was still alive, i gently moved it and saw it had roots growing out the bottom so i left it where it was, so now i have got a small tiny cutting of my fem plant, couldnt believe it, not sure if it will survive or not but so far so good,

Wow Vape, my I was at war with my old phone and internet provider and missed all this!?! Looking so good, as I have been implicating Organic/High Brix methods to my way of growing and learning direction. And I love what you are doing and how you are set up. But keep up the good work and I will be watching eagerly. :bravo: & :Namaste:
