Ah I think it just sends my already messed up brain and messes it up 10x faster where a Indica will slow me down and help with the running thoughts and ptsd but I don’t want my kid seeing my high until he’s a bit older don’t want that being a memory he looks back on idk I don’t mind sharing the growing experience with him but he’ll need to wait to see high dad until he’s ready to as well with that being said Murphy will come knocking sooner or later haha

I totally feel you on that homie, sativas are for a certain use indicas are for a certain use. The narcotic effect of indica for me helps calm my hyperactive self (anxity and random mood swings) but does nothing for focusing and avoiding procrastination, thats when sativas are needed. Roll up a Haze joint and get shit done! and fast lol

I was thinking about picking up something like colours mango for work seems low enough in thc and CBD might help me focus but hopefully will help my back

Its a another long update with lots photos, hope you dont mind. Every photo counts to get a better look at how the plants move.

Sativa Pheno (in the layered bucket and shaded)
On monday I trained this plant so it would bend over itself and reshape the canopy.
IMG_3505.jpg
IMG_3506.jpg

I am really surprised this actually worked out.
IMG_3507.jpg
IMG_3508.jpg

Finger pointing at the "main cola" still trying to lead, but everything under that top node is all picking up and trying to access the canopy.
IMG_3509.jpg

IMG_3510.jpg

This shoot here has all the looks that might wanna take the lead since she is the closest to the light source. It was the longest strecthed side branch after the training monday.

Everything was watered/feeding X 2 Seaweed tea, garden weeds tea, foliar feed+neem the heck out of everything.

Xenomorph aka Durban Poison
IMG_3519.jpg
IMG_3520.jpg

You can see the stretch she is setting up for the flower time.
IMG_3521.jpg
IMG_3522.jpg
Thats the main top, its about to be reached by the lower nodes, after the point of bend.
IMG_3523.jpg
looks healed and Im glad.
IMG_3524.jpg

This is another view of a branches trained at its tip and the lower nodes passing thru, The shoots just pop like 4-5 inches in days.
IMG_3525.jpg

Another view of the bent "main top cola" everything under it is raising to catch up. Stem elongation.
IMG_3526.jpg

After training, not too much canopy control and some defol. She looks big now
IMG_3529.jpg

The main top I have bent twice 90 degrees, the lower nodes have a chance to catch up and lead.

This is how the AK-47 I posted on the monthly contest looked. Ill try again next month :)

The inside of he plant
IMG_3534.jpg

This is something that captured my attention today, See how right at the bending point the lower node on one side explodes and the other doesnt. What, Why and how??? is the plant signaling to push more growth hormones to one side than the other? a 5 inch difference in elongation.
IMG_3535.jpg
IMG_3537.jpg
IMG_3540.jpg

This is the crown or top of the plant, Bent everything around it.

Beautiful plants, DS! You train well.

Top of the plant or crown.
IMG_3588.jpg

This is a lower branch bent and a shoot taking off way to the top. This is one thing I dont seem to grasp at all, why this shoot grows 4-5 inch in days and the rest of the branch takes more time. The Restructuring of the plant after such subtle change.

Starting to build up.

Completly recovered, she managed to pull all that weight up the apical dominance is powerful.
IMG_3594.jpg

I bent at the next node.

After training.
IMG_3598.jpg

I hit every branch, including the new bending on the main stem. I left one shoot untouched hoping to get this one to lead.

This plant is genetically wired to produce a single tall node as it's wind pollinated and that gives it the best chances to catch some on the breeze. So, when one branch manages to get taller than the others the hormones switch over to it and it produces suppressing hormones to the other branches on the plant. That gives that one branch the best chance of getting as tall as possible. Apical dominance like you said.

By doing your training you are trying to break that chemical process and spread the hormones equally to all branches.

Great pics, btw! :thumb:

That sure does make a lot of sense thanks for making me aware, the real purpose behind elongation and apical dominance is ultimately pollination. Sometimes I wonder around too much on the look of the plant and forget why she even makes flower in the first place.

What Im always looking for is;
-How the plant makes this decision? My only thought would be this is the shoot that is closest to the source of light on that branch.
-Could this be a great way to choose a clone for example? since the bulk of the hormone is dumped all on one shoot, this one has far more chance of survival than the rest on that branch.
-Whats the difference from bending at the node rather than higher on the stem? got no idea...
-Is the distance in elongation the equal to the distance from that elongated node to the tip of the branch? and if they are it would by a golden ratio. I would have to messure next time.
-I will got back to this same branch next time and see how it is.

This is me trying to decide for the plant which shoot I want as leader. I guess the plant has the last word.
