Urban Achievers Inner City Seeds of Promise

Hairy girls... thats the way we like'em... Oh wait, my wife is European. I can make an exception ... Looking good there UA, won't be long now, you will be worrying about room for the colas!

Work 1 week daze - 1 week nights... I've done that but not so short before change. Maybe that's the trick?? You never get in a groove so it's not painful to change since its changing all the time.

Change, the only constant...
I love my girls when they change their colors...
Spring.. summer... fall.... and winterrrr...

Pickle Rick - oh bro I have something for u:

Dude this made my day!!!!! Pickle rick!

The plants are hitting their stride, really putting energy into bud development, and so far not eating up vertical space.

That could change but for now everything is on track. I will take some individual shots in a few days.

The bit of a weak area in the lower right is my topped green Cush #3. It's stocky with two main tops. It may not get much taller at this rate. The remaining canopy is pretty even.

Thank you DW and VS, it's nice to finally be over the halfway point...not to mention be looking at my own plants in flower for once.

A quick shot of the ladies this morning. Again, daily noticeable growth, there seems to be some discolouration in the lower leaves...too early for it to be normal deterioration. Hopefully nothing serious, will post some proper photos soon.

Stacking up nicely Urban! have an awesome morning bud

Thanks Hortishorti!

Well I had a bunch of loyalty points at True North Seedbank so I picked up some autoflowers to try...eventually

Oasis had a two for one sale. So I picked up some Northern Lights x Blueberry autos, with an Auto Cheese freebie.

I got 9 seeds in total for $65 CDN.

Another day above ground is a good day. Makes for a good excuse to post an update. I made another order for some dispensary buds. This next few weeks menu: 7 grams of gorilla glue #4, 3.5 grams lemon haze, 4 grams outdoor organic timewarp. Exciting times lol

Here is a few shots of the achievers:

Group shot highlighting the stretch, with the BD in the back right loving life. I think that developing cola front and centre is one of Green Cush #3's main stalks.

A few shots of the AmxOG, still slightly behind.

The Green Cush #3 is not as bushy as the fimmed BD5 or GC4 but its two main stalks are strong and supporting good node structure.

The Green Cush 4 is bushy, has strong growth, and is stacking like a champ. This plant, as well as the Blue Dream will yield me the best smoke I think.

The Blue Dream is very strong...which is exciting because its so good to smoke lol.

Getting leaves on all plants near the bottom doing this. not concerned but keeping an eye on it. Contemplating feeding a watered down tea just in case this flower growth spurt is requiring a boost.

Lower leaves yellowing a little ... wouldn't worry about it. They will be the first to fall off. It's completely normal for those lower fans to turn and burn off. They are right on time ... usually starts happening when the flowers are getting larger. I've got plants that the ALL the fans turns yellow 1/2 thru flower. It's a good sign.

I was reviewing your setup back at the beginning of this journal... You liking your soil mix? Looks to me like it's kicking ass! Very very good to see.

Oh and you mentioned your wife's indoor plants have aphids? Oye.... don't wont those shits in your garden, trust me they like cannabis and are next to impossible to get rid of. I had em 1 time... they are in our outdoor gardens, one must have hitched a ride. I could kill them but couln't get the carcasses off the plants even after bud washing they were still there stuck to the plant. Had to toss that mess into the compost bin.

Are you able to keep your grow room smells under control?? Well enough to keep you out of the dog house? I've never been able to fully control the smell and my grow space is in the attic.

Anyways your grow is coming along nicely. Looking fantastic.

I gotta ?? about getting weed from the dispensary in Ontario. You need a medical card right now? I can't just go into a dispensary and buy weed with cash yet? I have a cottage in Ontario! We're there at least 1/2 the summer. Asking for a friend...

Looking good Urban. Great pictures.

Cheers.
Thanks DW, I put a bit of effort into it once in a while, its the least I can do after going through so much trouble to give the plants the best shot at success.

That Blue Dream is looking awesome brother!! Watching that one closely since it will be in my next run.
Yeah I have high hopes for this run, if it turns out as good as the dispensary smoke then I will be running another round at some point.

Thanks BB14, very exciting to see the plants thriving

I think the soil I mixed up is kicking ass. It should be as it was based off of a proven recipe lol. I have done nothing but feed them plain water straight from a bottling facility for the last month or so. The plants seem to have everything they need right there in the soil. If anything it might be a hair too much and could benefit from a bit more moss or organic fibre to lighten it up. However after this run, these full 5 gal pots will be used again for the next batch, and I think it will just right.

The wifes tower/hydro garden was taken offline a few weeks ago, and is just back up and running, no pests seen yet. The only other pests are in my tent and they are not doing well between the sticky traps and lock down pads. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

The smell is very minimal. Even right in the tent is mild so far. I think the massive carbon filter pro that I bought is doing the job and the wife is very impressed...and happy lol

As for the dispensary, I found a place called the Green Room. Its a chain I think, with a few stores open, I went in and saw the health practicioner, and a few minutes later was a member, now I can walk into any greeen room dispensary and purchase meds. The also have an online shop, with flowers or concentrates. Usually about 20 varieties of bud to choose from. Pay through wire transfer and they ship it out in 3 business days..speak of the devil...my latest order was just delivered lol. Put the order in Sunday night and as expected its here by 10 am Wednesday. Its pretty handy/consistent/discreet.

Ok off to check on the girls, check out my delivery, and clean the house to keep the wife on low alert lol.

:passitleft:

Edit: I put a very small amount of the boogie brew pt 1 and 2 (a shot glass total), some of my soil mix, and 1/2 teaspoon of bat guano in a cloth. That has been brewing in about 1.5 litres of filtered water since last night. Its very frothy, so I think this is going to be a good batch, and it will be diluted with another 5 litres or so of plain water before being fed to the plants tomorrow night.

Lets keep the update train rolling.

I fed them all a diluted aerated compost tea last night as the lights came on.

While doing so, I noticed some very small little red spider like things, very fast. Not sure if they are spider mites or what. I saw about 6 or 10 of them between two plants. All on the pot or edge of the soil, nothing on a plant yet, at least not that I have seen. Sure hope they are not going to pose an issue at this stage of the grow. Cant afford to be spraying them with neem oil while flowering. What do you guys think?

Took a few shots this morning. Capturing one of the main visual pests in the tent. Biggest one I have seen yet. Crushed the bastard after his 15 minutes of fame.

If you saw them with the naked eye...on soil....its not a mite. All you see of mites when they are on leaves is what looks like a little tiny dark spot, like a speck of dust. Sometimes if you watch closely you can see the spot move. Watch for any little white dots/spots starting to show up on your leaves....then you know you have spider mites. If you have a scope....I would pull a few random fan leaves, specifically if you see any leaves with the white spots and look at them under the scope.

Vans right probably a normal spider... not a mite! But sadly I put my pepper plant about to pasture today. In the 4 ° weather due to aphids so beware of those suckers!

Your garden Looks lush green and. Beautiful as always Urb! Wub-a-lub-a-dub-dub!!!

Hope all is well buddy!

Thanks guys much appreciated. Getting nervous and excited about the grow. This is the furthest I have ever taken a cannabis plant.

I sent off a quick inquiry to the bug lady here in BC about some predatory mites, explaining my situation, and the guy said it's probably not spider mites as they are fast moving and more indicative of a predator. Also they didn't come out until I watered.

However, I am still going to order some Hype-O predatory mites for $17 to kill the fungus gnats. I will put some of the Hype-O in my soil storage as well to hopefully do some work. I can get a general preventative mite for $25 if I want to be super sure. Seems like a cheap insurance policy.

I will be heading home in a bit and my lights will be on when I get home. I will see if I can find one and take a picture of them.

Well if I may...

I had a few of those pesky fungus facks early on and van was the one who had me use some h202 and it laid them to waste. That an oscillating fan and a sticky fly thing and they will be goners!

But predatory mites sound wayyyyy cooler

Predator mites or bugs of any type are always a good thing to have. I find the problem is people want to sell them in quantities I don't want in terms of preventive pest control (not waiting for an infestation). All the places I found are in quantities of at least 1000. I would love to be able to release about 100 at a time every 5-10 days. I am looking into something right now and as I find more about it, I will pass on the information to everyone.
