Turbo Bucket's Take On RADDWC: Grow Room Build-Up

I’m convinced it’s the LEDs that are causing it, idk why, but seems way more prevalent with LED than HPS. I see so many “cal-mag” issues on this forum, but when you look at them it appears more calcium than magnesium (to me anyway). I definitely had calcium issues since I’ve moved to LED and found the canned cal-mag supplements just didn’t have the right ratio for what my plants wanted/ needed. I switched off cal-mag plus and started using pure calcium carbonate which has done amazing, but not without trade offs. It raises pH big time and isn’t that water soluble. You could try to mix something like that into your coco/ soil, or try an amendment called Nectar for the Gods One Shot. Heard awesome things about it and had even bought some/ planned to add to my coco blend before I decided to try out the SoHum soil.

Also, one other thing you could try in place of HydroGuard is UC Roots by Current Culture.

You’ve got a nice setup going man.

Yea I haven't been running any additional calcium for the last couple of cycles I have pretty hard water to begin with. Raising pH and adding a less soluble source probably won't go well. Using it as an amendment is a possibility. Most strains have done ok without adding any calcium so far. These raspberry Diesel aren't cuts from the keeper mom so I'm not sure how it will continue going forward.

I'll probably continue with the calmag + till it's gone, still half a bottle left, and see what happens with the other tent.

I'm done messing around with hydroguard. I just started using orca once a week so there's a refuel of root zone helpers every once in awhile. I'll get some z7 again if I still have issues with the rez.

On a similar note.
I think I need to go back to doing a weekly compost tea as well. I have not used any tea on the new C99XBlueberry, fruit punch wave and they seem slow with few side branches. Without the tea the plants aren't getting any kelp extract and all the growth hormones and other goodies that brings with it.

I pity the foo that neglects a good plan. Haha

Anyways. I transplanted the two gorilla Bomb clones to fill out the next wave.
They are quite a bit smaller than the rest of the girls but they're just going to have to catch up. Or deal with being small. Not the end of the world.

So I rinsed and wiped out the rez last night, put 5 gallons of water and some h2o2 in and left both pumps circulating in it all night. Hopefully whatever was in there is dead. I wiped it all down again this morning and sprayed it out. Fingers crossed.

I filled it back up with
Protekt 2ml/gal
Calmag+ 2ml/gal
Mag pro 2ml/gal
And dynagrow 5ml/gallon
temp 57°f pH 5.9 575ppm
watering every two hours with an extended run time 1 hour before lights out.

That's for sure. Thankfully the wife helps, and sometimes we can rope afriend into it. The last two tents took about 30 labor hours each. I'm sure this will be worse, maybe, gonna have a ton of material for hash.

That’s cool your wife helps. Trimming sucks so bad, nothing I hate more. Totally agree about the cure, cure is everything. An interesting convo I’m having off forum right now is about paper bags bs plastic and how it effects the post cure shine of the weed.
Sorry for the half cocked thought, hadn’t had coffee and then got busy with some stuff. Anyway, some more commercialized growers are opting for plant hang then to plastic bags then jars over paper bags to jars. Logic is supposedly plastic results in brighter green weed that’s shinier than what you achieve with paper bags. Also heard him throw out that paper bags tend to brown weed...

I’m a paper bag guy personally and will always be as I’m a sucker for heritage and have never had a problem with weed turning brown or not being shiny, but thought it was interesting.

Yea they get about a week to dry then into jars. Humidity is up around here right now so may stretch the dry out a couple days compared to over the winter. Not a big deal.
I really need a dedicated drying space so I'm not using a tent for a week in between crops.

Maybe I'll use some bags and buckets this time instead of a bunch of jars

I haven’t tried turkey bags just because I’m all personal and have a system that works for me, but I know a guy who does the following and his weed is great. He dries in 70F/50% for ~5-7 days, denugs when buds get to around10% moisture and then trims onto a dry screen for 2 days at 65F. Then to a turkey bag and burps. Could give that a shot.
