Turbo Bucket's Take On RADDWC: Grow Room Build-Up

Me like the bucket theory! What light you got running in them, get any heat buildup?

I'm dreaming of moving out of my tent. My closet witch the tent occupy is 120x160cm. Why the need for more clothes than you wear and other stuff just collecting dust when you can have more plants. :ganjamon:

Thanks I get a kick out of it.
Little bit of everything for lighting, really. Some have the little LED bulbs that screw into normal lamp fixtures some have CFLs, some have Chinese LED UFOs. They're round and fit inside the buckets great. You definitely have to move some air to keep them cool depending on how hot the lights are and where you keep them. I have one with heat that I use for sprouting seedlings. Some use on off thermostats some have PWM cooling. Some are up flow some are down flow.

They're all kind of a Hodge podge to see what works or doesn't. The most light I have in one is 115w of CFLs 5x23w bulbs. The least I have is like 28w of leds for the seedlings

That is some mad scientist stuff going on there....very cool though.... It shows that, if you are motivated, it can be done, and on a pretty tight budget.

Super cool....:green_heart:

I love these DIY stuff. I get a kick from it, when you find something new to you and implement it to fit your needs and getting it to work. That is satisfaction for me. It's in fact a great way to keep mothers intact and keeping the children happy for one hour longer than the rest in the room. Going to try this when I go all in in my walk in closet.

Moved the new seedlings into Solo cups and into the room today.

Start of a Gigabud bonsai mom topped her a couple days ago.

Is it good or bad for condensation to be building on the plants rather than the bag/humidity dome?

The Cherry Hill seems to be forming calyxes on some of the upper most nodes. Light schedule hasn't changed. Everything seems normal except that. Is she just begging to be flowered at this point, or has something gone sideways?

I don't think the humidity on the sprout is bad. Actually, I think it's good. I would open her for a few hours a day, just to let some fresh air in, as I'm sure you are doing.

As for the flowers, how old is this plant? Could it be an auto? Does that strain come in an auto-flowering seed?

Her stipules are quite long....... I don't think I've ever witnessed that, but I'm not a flowering expert either........

Thanks SD!
Bonsai, my concern with the condensation is 3 fold, with water on the leaves they could obviously burn under the lights. (I think I have them far enough away atm to avoid that) Second if water is readily available through the leaf surface surely that will slow root development the same as a clone and lastly too much water on a leaf will rot it (lost some stasis clones that tipped over bc of that), I'm just not sure how much is too much. In the past I pop the domes once I see condensation starting on the plant but it seemed to be 2 days earlier this time so I was kinda curious what other people see inside their domes when popping seeds.

The alleged Cherry Hill seed was a gift from a buddy so I have no true idea of it's origins. She is quite old, few months maybe, but no more so than the Gigabud (same source) in there. On the auto genetics though makes me wonder if it's gotta lil Rudy in there. Maybe a fast version from somebody or got pollinated by a fast version of something. Kinda strange, she should flower like a BOSS though.

The leaves usually act like roots when first sprouted. They can absorb almost as much water as the roots as I've been told. If you are worried about rot, just open the bag when you see this happen, and shake the lily and let the condensation dry out for a while. It should tend to happen at the same time every day due to temp fluctuations. The sprout needs the extra water while the roots grow. But airing her out won't hurt any.... Humidity helps, but the extra condensation doesn't help anymore.

The flowers on the Cherry Hill is a real mystery if she is that old. Wondering if there is something in her genetics that is just going to force flowering. Really strange......

Be interested in watching to see what happens with her.
