Tomula's Living Organics In Soil With Olla Irrigation Perpetual Indoor Garden

Its so tempting to start a cob build, ill watch yours and decide later this summer.

Oh nice, I'll make a new thread with my progress when all the parts are at hand. Thanks.

Very interested in your how to thread. Where did you get the parts from?

I'm looking more and more into that prebuilt timber Vero 900 just because it's easy but I think I'd still prefer to build one.

I'll be there with pw watching. :passitleft::popcorn:

Thanks BFarmer! The COBs are from Alibaba, exactly Kingbrite. They also got lenses and holders. But to be safe with the CLO I got only the COBs because they are small and they will write you low price on the box. Tada- international marketing.

The hard part is mounting the holder to your cooling solution. You can get cob holder with wago clips for the wires. I will made my own holders. I was thinking about strong springs, nuts and bolts, to eliminate threading, cause I do not have enough material to drill and tap and to save me some money. I will solder the wires to the COBs.
With cooling- more is better for sure. Passive is heavier, generally more expensive, but reliable. But I will go for active, just because have to with my cooling solution. That will also be overkill, but I like that.
Drilling and threading is more difficult and you need to be precise, but it is the best way of doing it. You can also got good tape/glue to glue it on, with decent amount of thermal paste. You need good flush surface and nicely spreaded thermal paste. Try to not let it goop out too much, it takes some practice, less is more, but not too little is best. And then it is only a simple matter of wago clipping the wires from power source.
Two common ways of doing that and I will be doing the harder one (parallel) with fuse for each COB. When you connect the COBs in series then fail of an COB is gonna disconnect the whole power circuit. That means no electricity from the supply. Best way is one COB- one power supply, but that is more expensive. In parallel the fail of COB will result in more power supplied to other COBs, kinda self balancing the flow. So with my cooling and soft running the COB I need to ''dial'' the fuses (buy the right ones) for two/three+ failed COBs. So one/two fails means my light is still shinning. Better to be safe than sorry.
And simple wooden frame.

This text only makes sense, when you understand all the terms. All of that will all be in my thread.
Cheers man! :thanks: :cheer: :cheer:  :Namaste:

But that's the future, now I got some photos, all looking pretty good:

The Herer is looking fine! Something I havent grown yet. Im pretty sure my 'low boy 2x4 tent couldnt handle one. Does ANYONE make a 7' high 2x4?? 5 feet just isnt nearly enough to cram in everything that needs to get crammed in :/

And as expected, the Olla-Shark is loving life :)

Thank you, thank you and thank you. :circle-of-love: The Herer is lovely strain, with great amount of resin and buds. You can also make filter box and filter both veg and flower area.

Check this thread, lovely gardening:

I got the Mars Hydro tent and I like it very much. I could use more roof rails but hey, good for the money. But now I see they only make 5 feet 2x4 and 7 feet 3x3... I think Gorilla has them in 6,7ft (200$) that's what you need :) I will be getting the Mars 2x4 for veg. grow for sure. They got warehouse in Germany and the products are here in 2-3 days.

I was looking at the Gorilla...$200+ is a lot to spend on a small tent o_O

There must be some secret mojo in that tent. Hard to tell. But hey if it lasts few decades... Or you can get something together by yourself. Some wooden frame, clap foil into l profiles, stretch and tape it all together, get some rubber floorpan and you are done. Or the 3x3 is another option. And I did come across this:

Hope this helps. Cheers! :cheer: :circle-of-love:

Hi Tom

Herer is an old time classic which is also good for medical. She makes you high, but not head buzz stoned.
I am so looking forward to the smoke report.

I did little smoke report on the Herer. She hits quite fast, unlike the Dream and makes my mind fast and focused. Moderation is the best way to smoke/vape cannabis. Smells lil fruity and woody. Tastes smooth, earthy little sour. Pretty long lasting high. Makes me laugh, but not as much as the Dream. Overall I like it very much. Cheers Birdie and stay vigilant! :thanks: :circle-of-love: :Namaste:

Looking great. I like the training. Good to hear the funnel works for you even without the olla. Awesome side by side comparison of the two. The thread will be covering the whole build, I will have some schematics and photos that should be easy to follow. It can be made solderless so I will cover that option too. Thank you and cheers! :circle-of-love: :Namaste:

Also, the COBs are already here just after 2 days! I dunno how they done it but great service indeed! Now I gotta find a way to hold the chip in place, haha.

Wow! Those chips are HUGE. Kapton tape would be the easiest way...there's lots of area there for sticking them down. I like the solderless holders they have with the push in connections, but a few min with some solder and a good liquid flux and going old school works quite well.

I got something simple and beefy in mind- bending plyable piece of metal to clip the COBs and heat it up some so it can press the LED down. Plus I will tape over the connections of course :) And I still have two legs on the heatsinks, so there comes my frame work, with two long screws mounted to a frame close to the top of the heasinks. I want only nuts and bolts in the build, which I think is the proper way of connecting things for that ease of disassembly.
