Tok's First Mushroom Diary - Medical First/Recreation

[Scottay]

One bag is farther along than the other, so, I did a break and shake of that bag and will let the Mycelial Growth continue to develop a little longer. Then I will open the bag to allow the mushrooms to grow outside of the bag. Since I have some bulk bags coming today; I decided to fruit the Nameless shrooms right out of the bag.

I will cut the bags two different ways; one on the corner and the other on the front of the bag. To see which way works best. I will be doing this in two days.

Just showed my wifey Weezy and she said yup.... looks familiar. My Ben's experience was solid. Once you get that very early sterile thing down there's big hurdle.
advice for the future .... Once you start doin your own grains..... Birdseed is cheaper and effective. And millet works really good too!! It's looking good buddy!! Can't wait to see this in a few weeks!! Happy Saturday!!

Sorry to have disappointing news, but when I cut the bag for fruiting I could see a green fungi growing inside the bag and discarded the bag.

I still have another bag, I cut the corner off for fruiting, so far, so good.

First off I want to give a big shout out to @Spore Genetics and @Midwest Grow Kits I have received my prizes for the October MDotM. I received 5 spores variety which were Albino Penis Envy (APE) 10cc Spore Syringe, Tidal Wave, Jedi Mind Fuck, Panaeolus Cyanescens Estero and Amazonian from @Spore Genetics

@Midwest Grow Kits sent me two All-in-One Mushroom Grow Bag (4 lbs) for Manure Loving Mushrooms and a Ready to Grow Gourmet Mushroom Grow Kit (5lbs) per-inoculated on 10-20-2023 with variety: Yellow/Golden Oyster, yummy.​

Both 4 lbs. bags have been inoculated; one with 7cc of Nameless spores and the other was inoculated with 6 cc of Amazonian spores on November 21, 2023. I will wait for a week of so before I check on them; they are currently in a dark period for the Mycelial Growth phase.

A lot has been going on the last couple of days. One of my UB Brown Rice bags got contaminated with a green fungi and the other one is currently in the fruiting chamber.

I thought watching grass grow was slow.

The three All-in-One bags have all been inoculated, two where placed in a dark place for mycelial growth. The Golden Oyster mushroom have been placed in the fruiting chamber for about two weeks of fruit development.

While I was there, I just had to check my All-In-One grain bags, but no mycelial growth spotted yet.

Well I took your advice on making a substrate @Ramblinrose1965 I bought a 5 pack of 650 gram coco coir blocks and a large bag of vermiculite. I can get the gypsum from the local box store cheaper and more than online. Thank you for the recipe for coco coir substrate.

Lookin good! Do yourself a favor and make a still air box. Its a game changer at keeping contaminates at bay. I don't think I have had a bad jar of spawn since instituting the SAB.

The Golden Oysters are currently in the fruiting chamber, these should be tasty mixed in with something.
@Midwest Grow Kits two All-In-One bags have been inoculated with @Spore Genetics Nameless spore in one and the other has Amazonian Spores.

Think about buying more All-In-One bags, but I got to think about gifts and birthdays for the holidays. One of my grandson birthday is a couple days before Christmas, so I make sure they are separate celebrations and gifts.

I fail to take any images, but she on her second dunk right now. I was really surprised at how tasty it was fried/ Sautee.
I enjoyed it with a big salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette.

How about yours? is it still growing?

edit: The Oyster shrooms are in the fruiting stage, but nothing yet.

Mine is pretty much done. I have a bunch of it dehydrated. I took big slices and fried them up in butter and a little garlic to top juicy burgers.
Nothing like it!

Oh yeah......I'm hooked. LOL I have all kinds of plans now, just need to get this current bunch of strains finished up and set sail for uncharted shrooms. Got one family member that is going to get started as well. There is a black Friday sale going on with the The Essentials Substrate Ecosphere Package 3.0 , he's grabbing it. The one I have is Ecosphere 3.0 and that's on sale too.
