Tired Of LED’s, Using The Sun To Grow Trees

Same here! I get out there with coffee in hand and dote over the girls before it gets hot. :circle-of-love:

Looking forward to seeing some pics of the soon-to-be monsters.

Hello fam and sorry for the sudden lack of posts. I have a cabin on 13 acres that I’ve been doing a lot of work on recently and have been away for some time. With everything going on in our country right now. I have had a lot more time off work and have spent most of it up there away from all the noise. I come home every couple days just to water it seems lately lol. Anyways here’s update on the ladies!

magic melon has reached the Welded wire I put up and I’ve started weaving them through it.

1 of the wedding crashers got trimmed up and the other will be within the next day or two. They haven’t reached the welded wire yet but they have finally extended past the 100 gallon pots

:thumb: sounds perfect

Trees are looking really great! Beautiful green shiny leaves.

Thank you Amy, they are coming along pretty well I think. The days have been crazy hot here. It’s 100+ pretty much all week so they are tough for sure

Looking great! They are going to be monsters!!!

Thank you Kanda, I am expecting/hoping for large plants for sure. The wedding crasher are a little over 4ft tall now, with the bags they are pushing 6ft. I might have to dig a hole to bury the bags a bit

Very, very nice! Like @FelipeBlu says "Outdoor growers unite!" :yahoo: :yummy:

Thanks Fred, hows the greenhouse coming? I need to make my way over to your journal and check the progress! Outdoor Growers!

Hey LED your girls are looking real nice ! you are about a month ahead of me in the ground so it's a good look into the future for me. My Vanilla Frosting is a monster compared to the rest, the Romulan is the only one that comes close to it's size. The magic melons are doing ok, one is the runt of the group so I have been giving it special treatment to try and perk it up. Any way looking good "Growing Forward"

Excellent! Your ladies are coming along splendidly. :thumb:

I love the shape as well as the size. Question: Will the wire get in the way much when it comes time to harvest?

Better get your ladder out soon.

Hello everyone and here’s a little update. So I think I should have just put these girls in the ground to begin with lol. I’m not really sure what I was thinking. when you only have a 6 ft fence that you are trying your best to stay under, you shouldn’t start with a grow bag that’s 2ft tall to begin with. I ended up having to dig a hole for the crashers.

I noticed on Friday they where eye height. So I dug down about 18 inches and put them in the ground. I can start to spread them out even more now.

I’ll get more pics tonight. I was wore out after digging yesterday. I did some cleaning up the space looks really nice now. I did notice the magic melons look to have some mite damage going on. I just noticed the white specs on the leaves. I will spray them down with some water/soap later tonight and for the next few days to see if that helps. Hope all is well and growing with everyone! This is the month for explosive vegetative growth!

Hate digging. Your soil doesn't look too rocky, or as AG peeps say, cobbly.
Hair too late in the month to supercrop, or any other training for that matter.
OUTDOOR SCROG is a search item that yields few results. Make that happen, im working on mine.
Green leaves and tight buds forever

Getting huge LED!! :woohoo:
Yea they are starting to fill out for sure! Still got over a month to keep vegging. I’m excited to see what these wedding crasher girls in particular can do outside full season. I’ve been growing it for two + years and have only put one on my patio late season to flower. I know they will pack on the buds. Just wanted to see the full potential of the plant size.

I hate digging too but the sweat reminds me to enjoy my harvest even more lol! My soil is actually adobe clay about 12 inches down. It’s not the best growing medium. I plan to use the all the dirt from these bags to till in when this season is over in prep for next year.I’m with you bro. Outdoor scrog sounds great and it’s about the right time to start doing something like that. The wiring I put up is supposed to be somewhat of a scrog/plantsupport combo

thanks Beez, to answer your question my answer is: if I do it correctly no the wiring it will Not be in the way. I’ve grown my fair share of decent size plants. When they get that big, they really need support for their limbs. I try to put the wiring up in a manor that they will reach it and grow completely through it by harvest. So In essence the wiring is just a large tomato cage but with smaller individual holes that you can weave the plant through. By weaving if you are creating more bud sites and giving each branch the support it needs to fully mature and hold buds in wind, rain, etc. All the buds should be 2–3 feet outside the wiring by the time harvest comes and everything inside the cage is usually useless by that time.
