Tired Of LED’s, Using The Sun To Grow Trees

Missed last week’s update. :hmmmm:

Looking lush LED! :thumb:
When did you start the WC?

I've had this strain around for a couple years now, these specifically came off my last indoor tent run which I harvested in March. The clones I took off them where taken at the end of Fed, so these babies have had atleast two months to veg indoors before I put them outside.

Heya LED :passitleft:

How’s it growing?

it’s growing good. I’ll do an update later today. It’s been 3 weeks now since I planted them. Did a bunch of work on the grow area before I went out of town for the holiday weekend. I’ve been gone for the past 4 days. didn’t get a chance to do an update before I left

G'mornin LED. :passitleft: I'm an outdoor greenhouse guy who has been trying a small indoor coco grow. I really like the tent but its nice to be back outside as well. I'm gonna pull up a hammock and a perpetual vape, maybe a few gummies and a glass of lemonade and watch the show. Stop by my journals and let me know what you think. Looks like you did a lot of prep for your grow. Gonna be awesome! Stay safe and stay stoned.

Excellent! 4 days away, eh? Camping?
:passitleft:
Yea my family has a cabin on 15 acres we use to get away from the craziness of the city life. It’s nice to get up there and relax and eat good food for a few days every now and then

nice to meet you fredwak and thanks for stopping by! One of these days I’ll have a nice greenhouse and I’ll be set. I do put a bit of effort into prepping my grows. I like to think it prevents a lot of issues I’ve dealt with in the past. I’ll stop by and check out your journal this evening when I get home after I’m nice and medicated:ganjamon:

Looks like everything is off to a great start. :thumb: Looking forward to see how you do your training - I'm still trying to figure mine out.

Wassup everyone it’s 3/26 and that means these girls have been in the ground 3 weeks, time flies when your havin fun. I did quite a lot the past week, I put up some supports that they will grow through when they start to reach a certain size.

Since I started growing indoors I’ve always tried to implement some kind of a scrog technique to all my grows. Since I Have a height restriction id like to stay under. I’m going to attempt to scrog these outdoor plants. I want to make them as wide and keep them as short as I can. We will see how that develops over the next couple months.

Here are some photos of the plants and what I’ve done. I topped one of the wedding crasher and started bending it over. I plan to do the second one the same way. When the magic melon get to that size I will also do the same to them.

Here is what I’m doing to spread them

I topped this one

Well there’s nothing quite like waking up at 7:30 am and it being 82 degrees already. We have another record setting day for heat With a high of @106 predicted. I’ve been watering every day to make sure these babies can make it through the afternoons. Hopefully after Thursday the temp is supposed to be back in the upper 80’s and we will be growing happy again.

here is a photo of the magic melon. It’s a lot more lanky than the wedding crasher for sure. I can see this plant being more of a problem to control it’s height already. I marked the pole last Wednesday with a sharpie to show how tall it was. Now you can see how much it has grown in the past week. Looks close to an inch per day lol

It’s actually supposed to be a little cooler here today. But yesterday, a high of 95F was forecast, and it officially got to 102F. My backyard has its own microclimate, and hit 107F at 3PM.

The long internodal distance on your Magic Melon reminds me of a pumpkin I grew a few years ago lol.

Wishing you a cooler day! :hippy:

Heya LED,

I know you have a lot going on, but did you see this? Classic strains, and there’s still room!

just went and checked it out, are you going to sign up?

Hello everyone I’m LED209 and thank you for stopping my by new grow journal. I might have to change my name here as I am hanging up my LED lights (punny I know) and going to grow outside. I’ve been a long time indoor grower who has dabbled growing outside before with some success in the past. I’ve learned a lot about growing over that time and have developed a “grower preference” I guess you could say to the outdoor style of growing. To simply put it, I enjoy growing large plants. I can harvest more off one plant outside than I can my whole indoor set up and it costs me less to do so.

I have made a few friends on this site before and have a couple journals under my belt. I also have abandoned a couple due to various reasons but I plan on seeing this one for the long haul. I live in Northern California and with that comes a long summer of growing (I'm going for a 6 month grow) I plan on putting my girls in the bags in the next week with some supplemental lighting as the days are not quite long enough yet.

I will get into more about myself and my techniques I plan to incorporate in this grow later, but for now here is the good information on my grow!

What strain is it? I am growing two strains for a total of 4 plants. Wedding Crasher by Symbiotic genetics (I bought a ten pack of seeds two years ago and picked this pheno from the pack, been growing it ever since. Also 2 magic melon clones from dark heart nursery I picked up from a local dispensary here.

Indica/Sativa/Hybrid - Both are hybrids Wedding crasher leans Indica, Magic Melon leans slightly Sativa

They are in Veg mode, started indoor and being moved outdoor

65 and 100 gallon grow bags in soil. Mixture of roots organic 707 mix and happy frog

I will post some more pics later once I get them planted in the pots. For now here is a garden shot. The Bags are already filled with dirt, just putting up a temp fence to keep my dogs and kids out of the garden area. So pull up a chair, light one up and relax. Thanks for stopping by and hopefully you will enjoy the show!
Nice intro and I look forward to the show! I'm on my first journal and learning more each day. I'm not too tech savvy yet either, but I'm having fun
