THsea Grows Indoors Soil

So how do you flush a soil plant? I know how to on my hydro system lol

I am heading to my hydro shop to pu some FF Happy Frog. I will need to pu something so I can test the PH in my soil as well.

The "proper" way is to run 3 times the pot's size with water. If you have a 1 gal pot, run three gals through it. :high-five:

Hey guys... When I woke up, I measured the Critical+ auto... She hit 8" exactly. Just like I thought she would! I'm giving her sunshine today. She's keeping Vintage 2006 company. I'll do pictures again on... Wednesday? Sound good friends?

So I have something to talk about. Whats up with my stems? They are all bendy and i don't like it! I've been giving Silica... I try to keep them well watered (without over-doing it)... Is it more likely that I water to much or to little? Aye aye aye...

Re-arranged the closet... Wow. OMM, the weird SOG idea i've got... If I've got stems like this, totally wont work without supporting... Blah.

Another question! I don't know if i've asked this.. So i apologize if I did (couldn't find it, but I didn't look hard)... But I need a strain that meets very specific criteria... Needs to have robust stems, LST well, handle FIMing well.. I'm thinking a fast growing sativa... I was thinking Kauai, but really she doesn't like FIM or topping... She likes to go straight up and bush on her own.. ASHaze would really be a good candidate, if the main stem weren't so brittle... It handles FIM'ing well.. Hm.. Actually, maybe a Haze would be a good choice... But I'd like something with stronger side branching than ASHaze. This is the kicker, the quality of this plant doesn't matter (in terms of flowers). So... If you grew something that was kind of junk, but met the criteria.. Chime in.

Edit: Wow, seeing the Critical next to the Vintage... Vintage is almost a lime green, very light... The critical is just dark dark green :) Neat stuff. I think I'd be pretty disappointed if the C+ doesn't get to at least a foot tall. Four inches to go... The first wave of auto's I did got into showing some buds and stopped most upward growth. DinaFem seeds says it should get between 2 and three feet... Shoot, none of my photoperiod plants are that tall! I think thats kind of a wake up call to start repotting. Not today though! ;)

Not sure about FIMing, as I'm still at the other end of the learning curve with that one...But I've grown Northern Lights a few times, and those had VERY sturdy shoots, nice strong stems.. She was always more Indica dom, so might not be up your alley, but hey, thought I'd throw it out there:thumb:

Yep, stick that sucker under the tub spout, or kitchen sink, and letter run slowly...Helped big time my first grow...3x the pot size, like the Med Man said:thumb:

Unless you don't like your tap water...in which case, grab a snickers, cuz yer gonna be a while, with all that RO water from a jug lol...

You will like Happy Frog my friend! It is right good soil. Like our friend Mark said, if you run organics... less need to PH. I've seen organics run, and I think its great! OC+ is just easier. Organics will give you lush, green plants... From what I've seen, they look totally green, alive and without consuming itself in flower... You prolly want to go half strength on your nutes for a week or two after you refresh the soil with the Frog. Just kind of guessing there, I know Frog isn't as potent as Ocean... Who knows, if anyone does, please help our friend Alaskan1 out :Namaste:

Props to you for that OMM :thumb:

Went to the hydro shop and picked up a PH soil meter and some Fox Farms Oceanic soil!
Woohoo! Thanks for helping out OMM... And I think you ment the "propa" way ;) I don't know, with how airpots drain and soak... I'd prolly only put 2x the pot size... Screw that for the 11gallons!

Looks like you got Ocean Forest instead (often acronym'd as FFOF on this site).. Thats what I use. I like it. You might want to hold off on nutes a bit more than my suggestion on the Frog.. At least for the first month. Most people say its "hot" soil. Good luck with PH'ing, a lot of people worry about it... Maybe its more significant in hydro... I don't know. It's not really relevant for my journal.. But if someone wants to answer and keep it short, feel free! Thanks for being apart of the journal Alaskan1, and that goes for everybody! I've had nothing but great guests :high-five:

Yo quix! :thumb:

heheh, proper......

Haha! I get it!

<snickers softly>

Oh! Now I get it! :)

From the sound of it any of your plants could be LSTed, if they are that bendable. Don't know what's up with that. We will talk more about it today.:high-five:

You know... Thats kind of a separate issue! It was from lack of watering OMM, got home and the church looked awful... All got a good watering. They will be good by tomorrow... Hopefully I'll do a better job on the repotting and they will be happier.

That actually sounds pretty good! Indica, sativa.. I don't care. It needs good roots, and strong stems. Which seed breeder was it from? Thank you!

THsea, your plants look amazing!

Haha! :thankyou:

PH in Hydro is a daily chore one must go through if to be done properly. As I'm sure you know PH in hydro needs to be between 5.5 and 6.2 for nute uptake. Mine this morning was 6.3 and it started the day before at 5.7 after it was adjusted. Sooooo once again I had to adjust it back down.

I tested the PH of the soil tonight after we got the new meter and it was 7.0. How the heck do you get the PH down in soil? I bet there is a "how to" in the Growing section of the site here. I will replace the soil tomorrow in the pots and make sure not to feed them for a month or so?

Sorry to have jacked your journal. I just needed someone with experience and good looking plants and you have both!

Yep, I'm a FF soil guy all the way. I've been running the Happ Frog for a few, with no complaints. Ran the Ocean Forrest for a few before that, and it was great. I think on future runs, I'll start with the Frog, and transplant into the "hotter" Ocean forrest... [/QUOTE]

Aaahhh crapsticks....Sorry my friend, I got the herb from my dispensary, and it was seeded. Not sure of the breeder, but NL is pretty universal. NL#5 is always commonly found around here (at least it used to be) And NL #1 shouldn't be far off, as they are just the "selection" made out of a handfull of the same strain. I really feel like most any breeder would suffice, and the strain would be pretty well within the same pheno group.
Everything I had ever seen on the strain was pretty much exactly what I had seen in my plants:thumb:

You can buy pH Down......or use common baking soda....a little at a time....a pH of 6.7 is good for soil. pH7 is considered nutral. :Namaste:

Thanks OMM and Quix! Took care of Alaskan1's questions... :)

Quix... Actually, NL5xHaze is a plant I've seen that could work.. It was pretty robust. Good call. I'll read up on the different ones in the NL family and choose from there.

Hey THsea! :thumb:

Man, I got the CFLs in the tent. 14 of them. 10----100ws, 1=150w, 2=200ws, and 1=300w. All different frequencies. You'll trip when you see them. :circle-of-love:

Whoa! Sounds great! :) I'm sure your girls are happy!

I'll try to post pictures of the Vintage when the sun comes up. Same goes for the Critical, which gets some rays too. Vintage is gorgeous, shes really starting to put out trichomes :)

Looking forward to the pictures. My Vintage still looks like a mummy.:hmmmm:

The girls are having a 24 hour nap. Next time they see light, they will be in flower. I took your little plant out of the tent. She will have light. If I get everything written up, the Journal will start Friday night. If not, Saturday.
Dr appointment in the morning to see if I'm still crazy!:whoa::)

Hey there OMM, can't wait for your journal to start. I will be looking for it and subbing as soon as I can find it - lol.

Crazy like a fox is more like it! :thumb: :peace:

Hey buddy! :high-five: Right on! Yea, I don't know whats up with that crazy Vintage! When I looked at it, some of the fan leaves were caught in the branching... Keeping it "wrapped up"... Very strange stuff!

No pic's this morning... Camera left to swiftly. If its back before dark I'll take pic's of the Vintage... Shes really flowering nicely :) She does it so quickly too! I can tell a difference daily.

Critical + auto... Shes starting to flower.. Shes hit 10" tall. Been growing about an inch a day... Still far off from the breeder's claim of two-three feet. I'd be really surprised if the yield is like they claim... 20-30grams.. I'd be happy with a half :).

Sorry M^2, no pics yet!

Yea! we are all waiting for the OMM journal to open up! :thumb: It's 'the place to be' ;) Do you watch Futurama?

OMM's gone from 'crazy like a fox' to 'crazy like Fox News'!

EDIT: I picked up a little Cinnamon Basil today! It's keeping the Thai one company... They look very similar, cept the thai one doesn't have ridges on its leaves... The cinnamon has small rounded ridges. Both have those cool looking purple stems ;)

Yehaaaaa!!!!! You said it brother!!:peace:
