Did it and done... I think I need to water my girls more. Already did the Kauai High, ASHaze and... That new auto that came up, Shot Adrenaline... I think thats it. Vintage has plenty of water from the light rains we get.. But I did give her a little of the kelp in some wa-wa.

I've been giving (what I think is) a really mild kelp thing nearly every feed... They seem to like it. I've backed off a little on the silica, they are all pretty tough.

Vintage is really moving now.. :circle-of-love:

First, I go and look in the closet... PE is limping like shes in her last throws... What went wrong? The only thing I didn't do... Put on the fan. But I don't think thats solely to blame.. It was the only thing that wasn't perfect. I took her outside this morning, flushed the shit out of her to make sure she had water.. Cause it was light, and I've noticed recently she is light no matter how I saturate her... She will be repotted to a 1gallon today, we need to correct this quickly. Shes looking better, in the wind and sun... And full of water.

Secondly.. I left the Church AND Kauai High at the window... So they got a full day of 12/12 on accident... Kauai is fine... Church spit out pistils in ONE day... I'm noticing a-symmetrical growth now on all my 2L... I think they might be telling me they want bigger pots. Sucks, I'll actually have to finish my tent now! ;)

The second one isn't really a problem.. It's more of a shock, the Vintage took a long while to put out pistils... They are both solid indicas... I don't know.

Hey everyone... So I have a magnesium deficiency.. And I have a little spray bottle... Can someone help me figure out how to do a foliar with epsoms? What is the ratio to water? I heard you should powder it, and dissolve it by heating the water with the epsoms salts... I assume just cool it down, put in the bottle and spray... If anyone knows, please help me! It will be for the A.S.Haze (just for you OMM), its curling like crazy.

Hey, Bro! Plants were looking great (last pics I saw!).

I believe the standard mix for an epsom foliar is 1tsp/gallon of water, but, if you have a deficiency, you should bump it to 2 tsp/gallon.

Like Mr K said above. I usually use 1/2 tsp per quart spray bottle if I know it's a def. Sometimes the airpots don't want to "absorb" properly.....just dunk the whole thing into a bucket full and "float" the pot till it starts to sink. Fully saturated then. Will usually water more normally after that.

Made up my mind friends... When the 2L gal's goto the "extended 4L's" (you will see :))... I'll be taking a cutting of each. If any are "special" I'll have the option to keep it as a mom, use it to breed, or both.

So... Cuttings of the ASHaze, Dr.G, PE, and Church definitely.. I feel I should take a "strong" cutting for the Kauai also... But thats in the air.

Part of why I want to do this is... I gotta get this show on the road!!! I'm gonna need meds, and waiting for the KC's will take forever... So I'll preserve what I have, and have a more informed decision as to what I want to actually pollinate.

The auto's help... I mean, the first harvest will be the Vintage (i think, based on what I've heard)... Then the Critical+, Shot Adrenaline... I'll save the Star Ryder for later. Really wanted to start her now... But I'll take my "germination fever" and pop some of the Thai Basil and Guava seeds I've got.

But yea... I think the KC's will need a long veg. They are just too far behind the other's to wait. It's bumming me out, because its the one I want.

I wana get some input... I know Sisco has tried Vantage... And others have.. I really feel like I might be shooting myself in the leg not taking a cutting... Thoughts? If she is such a short flower, it really makes me think it and Dr.G might make good friends.
 
Thoughts? I think that sativa doms may not be your best medicine. You're kinda restless and over-energetic, right? Can't put meat on your bones?
Vantage is the only suitable med on your list IMO. PE is strong, but turns me into a twitchy scatterbraind mess. I seldom smoke any of that. ASH had zero strength. DrG is tropical. You need at least one Indica dom.
My new strains are all fat-fingered except Lucy.

I do love an exceptional sativa my good gator... but I agree with you completely. Thats why I'm so excited with the KC's. Indica's acclimated to tropics are somewhat rare (or at least this is what I've noticed). The ASHaze is only included because I like hazes (hopefully its not a zero!)... The Dr.G because it sounds lovely and OMM will never willingly grow something that goes for more than 100 days..

Thank you for taking the time. I will make sure to take a good cutting of Vintage. No sense in letting it go away, especially if she ends of being the most medically appropriate.

(only talking about photo-period plants) Technically I'm growing five commercial strains... One full sativa, a sativa dom. hybrid, and three indica's... I'm growing PE because you say its so "strong"... I hope its not just that you have a special pheno! Honestly, I rarely meet buds that I would say are "strong". Thats why I'm doing church... She is one of those rare ones.. I still would never say anything is "to strong". But it is nice to have lighter stuff for active activities.

Anyone else can still chime in... But the decision is made! Vintage 2006 will be preserved, huzzah!
I was leaning that way kind of already... I like the idea of short flower times... Especially when everyone says this strain is so good!... The plant just didn't impress me til' she went outside.

Hey Mr. Gator.
You pinned the tail on the donkey perfectly. Our friend THsea is a blur of energy.
You should see him on a cell phone keyboard or a computer. He's a blur. Almost every time he visits, I try to make sure we eat at least once. If he stands sideways, he is hard to see. Indica is what we smoke if I have any when he visits. Even then, he is still fast. When I say he helps me, he really does and fast too. Unfortunately his awful disease makes him "not hungry" by it's nature. Hence, I want him to be around for a long time. I think he will accomplish many good things in his lifetime given the chance.

Sorry THsea, for talking about you...but I want you around for a long time.

Psh! Apologize when you do something wrong. Actually, don't, you have one in advance. ;)... Yep, guilty as charged folks. I feel like I race at a hundred miles an hour in my head... A strong indica reels me in and makes me feel more effective. I really never understood why my friends would pass out when they would smoke with me... Why they would say "We're too high to do stuff"... I was just starting to feel high enough to do things! I'm often ansey, sarcastic and mean... But not after that first toke.

I remember reading that "Got to get you into my life" was written about cannabis. Mr.McCartney hit it right on the money for me.

Now I'll talk about you! OMM likes a good indica himself my friends! :high-five: and you stick around a long time too :) or else

I took a cutting of the Vintage today. Reconfigured my stuff... Took that advice and used a bucket to wet my girls in the lower regions (of the pots). Worked like a charm! :thumb:

Really trying to work fast on the tent. Keep getting delays. The girls are doing their part, so now time to get off my butt and work!:peace:
 
THSea, always take a cutting.....you never know what you will like till later, and you can't go back in time.
 
It seems that the more advanced growers clone every plant they have just in case the seed that they popped turns out to be a+++ pheno. But what happens when you have a catalog of like 29 mother clones all different?

A buddy of mine ran into that problem so he used church dwarf pheno, that stuff is so strong, hit his clone with collided silver, got a fem male, then turned his mother room on 12 and thrashed that plant around in there 4 weeks in. The seeds were extreme.

Now he claims the adventure has just begun and every seed he pops needs to be cloned as the only thing he knows for sure is that there are more phenotypes than just the parents.
Some of the purples never get there and the size of the plants vary. Strength vary.

He gave our mutual buddy a few seeds, NL x church dwarf, and they got huge... Subbed

Neat, church dwarf? Does that just mean a particularly short church?

I don't want to have like 20+ plants... That would be beyond what I can manage in my space... But I do hope I found some special pheno's. Anything that I feel was worth the time and effort based on the flower quality will be used to make some seeds. :) The original plan was to just make pollen with KC and do them all with that... But I think I should make Kauai High pollen too (that is, if its a gal). I think we have enough Kauai Electric to make regular seeds.. But only if we end up with a male that is impressive. If not, I'll try to do fem seeds of those too.

I'll take pictures of my babies tonight. Not feeling the best today, but I'll try to put in some work on the tent. The sooner its up the more manageable my space will be. The PE is a bush!
 
That Critical + Auto looks almost identical to La Diva AF (critical+xBlueberry), you'll like her, great little plant that packs a punch. Looking good!

Cool! In the beginning of this journal I was gonna do autos... Did both a La Diva and Critical + before... but kind of screwed that up. This one is doing significantly better. I was looking at her last night, she threw out her first pistils... I sure hope she grows more.

I've tried regular Critical + when OMM grew it... Great high, not the longest lasting... But respectable smoke no question. In some ways I regret starting the C+ auto so early.. Now I definitely wont be able to pollinate her. The Star Ryder will work though.. But if I did C+ later, I could pollinate a branch of that, then breed the results with Star Ryder... I worry breeding a photo with an auto (like I plan to) might get rid of the auto flowering characteristic.

The two auto's were started mainly to help hold me over til my main harvest... The vintage wont yield enough to do that. If everything gets flipped at the end of this month... I should be doing the main harvest from the beginning of June to the end of July... The main is 6 plants... I kind of think it will be in this order... Pineapple Express, The Church, ASHaze, Kauai High, and Dr. Grinspoon....

Vintage is putting on buds daily. Its really cool to see a fast flowering plant. So far so good on her cutting! :thumb: Honestly, the flowering vintage doesnt smell as strong as the vegging PE... :) I take that to be a very good sign.

EDIT! I've got a correction... I was reading about the Church's lineage... Has a bit a sativa in it... Shoot. But its effect is mostly a indica feel, I just read it exhibits more sativa like growth. Strange!

PE is a hybrid too... Blah, Vintage is the one thats most "indica"... Oh well, they are all great plants, and I chose them for a reason! :) Maybe my short fatty KC's are pure indica's. They look like it.

Maybe next grow I'll get some real heavy pure indica's... Like some Afgan Kush and Pakistan Valley... Then again, I've got a Himalaya Gold seed. I've heard good things about it from other people who have Crohn's disease.... Blah, actually I wont... With keeping the cuttings and wanting to get all the Kauai Electric out of the way... No room I think... Gonna be picky with the cuttings too. If the smoke from mommy isnt good... Into the trash with ya!
 
Hey THsea! I was on a kick a while back, wondering about crossing autos with photos, and found a LOT of talk about it, out in cyber space. A search turned up lots to read, although I'm sure you've probably done some reading already. Just wanted to throw that out there.
They say the auto trait will usually stick around in a good portion of the next generation, but waiting to find them would be a chore, I suppose...
'Twould be interesting to watch though!
