TheRoach's First - Soil - Aurora Indica - Organic Grow - 600W

Haha, the fear of god doesnt prevent them from walking around in ultra small shorts! My brother in law came to visit from Mexico and he couldnt believe the girls dressed like that!

lol ... yea they do dress "aerodynamically". I hope legalization on a level that Uruguay can come to the rest of the countries in SA. Does your country have legal market yet? Or still waiting and very close? Obama messes with Colombia too much and I have a feeling that is slowing things down...

The thing that makes soil great for many growers is the lack of tediousness that could interfere with a hectic lifestyle. I only live in this mortal body once so I want to juggle as many things as possible! Even the guerilla growers are using hydro and LEDs now, there is a mountain in Colombia that is illuminated at night from all the drug mafia grows.
In my case it is because I can't carry heavy stuff because of an injury in my back. I do miss hydro, but moving the 12 five gallon buckets I had is no longer an option.

keep making the best of it sir, many people would have given up and been stuck on the healthcare's solution of expensive drugs that do nothing. meanwhile there is a plant that can give back something that the official state treatments cannot, and you have a knack at growing it yourself, not depending on some 3rd party provider.

So today I will start to harden off the Aurora Indica clones I have in the fabric pots: They will go 1 hour today and an extra hour thereafter (so tomorrow will be 2 and the day after 3) until they are 7 hours under the light on Jun 30th.
Hardening off is very important, as it allows the plants to develop a thicker cuticle (a wax layer that protects the plant epidermis from excessive transpiration) so they don't dehydrate under their new light!
After that they will go on 12/12 regimen of light. I will also fertirrigate with a flowering banana tea; it consists of three banana peels chopped finely and cooked with some sugar cane honey, a tablespoon of lentil meal and a tablespoon of oat bran.

Thank you for watching and as always your input is appreciated!

The more i read your journal, the more i want to switch to organic growing bro. I think that's what i am going to do on my 3rd or fourth grow. It sounds a little intimidating, so i still need to do more research on it...

#yourawesome :)

Thank you so much lovitonce! I really want to reach the point where I only produce top quality cannabis by using organic amendments only. It has a learning curve, but once you are there, boy oh boy!
Check the grow journals of SweetSue, SweetLeef, SoilGirl, Radogast and all the other amazing fellas in the organic growing forum! They have their set ups all tuned and their soils alive with the force of nature, maker of buds!
I will not stop until I become a master cannabis grower!

Send me some of that homemade organic soil when you have made final recipe :)
Hey ganjazz, you doing great bro! I plan on using the organic soil for a long time by amending it and continue feeding the soil food web. I guess sending you some soil would be hard, because Im so far away from you guys... But if you can learn something during the ride, I hope it is how to make a great living soil!

thx,

im using organic soil and organic nutrients only but not homemade,

Its like 12 euro for 50l fertilised soil and 50euro for the nutrients starterset(enough 2-3 rounds i think)

Still if i have the place, knowledge and time maybe someday....

Hell yeah free doesn't sound bad at all. have you tried hydro? Its doing really well for me so far compared to soil grows ive done before. Yeah its more maintenance, but the way i see it is is the more love you give your plant the more she will give to you come harvest. :thumb:

I was reading up on rock dust and I came across something. Most the gravel/landscaping people really don't know what we are asking for when we say rock dust.

They refer to rock dust as:

**Stone dust is often referred to as stone screenings as well as stone dust #10, however they are one and the same.

If the say no to rock dust, try asking for one of the above.

I have made some calculations;

My base mix costs 8.40 USD for 100l (a hundred liters). Around 7.5 euro, if the google currency conversion tool is to be trusted. My base mix is rice hulls, peat moss and worm castings (where I live 60 liters of worm castings cost 6 dollars)
The amendments I will use;
Rabbit feed 20 kilogram bag: 17 USD (85 cents per kilogram)
Shrimp shell meal, unlimited: free
Kelp based fert, 20 kilogram bag: 34 USD (1,70 USD per kilo)

I havent talked to the people in the cement factory in person, but I called and the person that answered said she was pretty much sure they would give it for free.
So it is my estimate that making 100 liters of substrate would cost me less than 10 USD (8.9 euro), as the most expensive components will be used in relatively small amounts.
I hope you get the chance to try organics from scratch, or sourcing all you need. It is cheaper and very interesting!

Thank you very much for sharing that bro! They knew what I was talking about when I said "polvo de roca".

I guess next step is going to fetch everything and mix.
Oh well, I will take my time.

everytime I pop in your journal I walk away with a headache theres so much going on...why can't you grow like a normal person lol!
:goodjob:

Haha, one day it will all make sense my friend!
Until then, come to my journal equipped with a fat joint.
Thank you for stopping by!

You have convinced me to go organic. I would really like to collect my rainwater, but I am in the city, so Imagine its full of car exhaust and things that you don't really want in your plants.

I usually use tapwater left in the bubbler for 24 hrs.
Thank you very much for stopping by my thread Nay420, I hope it is of use for you!
regards!

In the aquarium section of stores they sell something called water conditioner, it eliminates chlorine ammonia and heavy metals. 2 drops per gallon. It's the only way I've conditioned the plant's water and seems to work immediately.
