Themaddabber's Hempy Bucket Bathtub Grow 2017

Well here is what I learned in my battle with them bastards.

1. Mites freaking suck donkey balls

2. You better man up because those little bastards are for reals and they aim to win.

3. On a serious note, I recommend a few different things. First invest is a good sprayer and figure out the best way to spray your plants. For me, I have a small work table outside so I bring the girls down (all in veg when I was battling them) and spray them with different things on different days as they can build tolerances (supposedly) if you are spraying with the same thing every time. I tried to stay organic in nature and away from pesticides. For my run of the mill day, I use water mixed with alcohol at a 9 to 1 ratio. It will help kill the bugs as well as wash eggs off of the leaves and it doesn't have the harsh affect on the plant that spraying with other stuff can. Then I alternate with Neem Oil, SNS-217, SM-90, and even AzaMax. So for me a sample schedule would be Monday - Water with alcohol, Tuesday - Neem Oil, Wednesday - Water with alcohol, Thursday - SNS-217, Friday - Water with Alcohol, Saturday - SM-90, Sunday let em recover. Repeat the cycle. Now as soon as I am finished spraying I bring them back inside and let them dry completely before I put them back in the tent. Also, feel free to bleach the crap out of your tent to get any stragglers.

I have also learned its much easier to defoliate the crap out of your plants before spraying. Less leaves to spray, less places for the mites to hide. I also cut the leaves off that are showing signs of mite action. Its a war brother. I finally decided to let mine go to harvest and then I am not doing any new plants until I clean the crap out of my tent, all grow area, work tables, etc. I will bleach everything 2-3 times over and go a week or two with no plants so any stragglers might die.

I have also decided to be more proactive with my spraying. I intend to make the water and alcohol a once a week spray as well perhaps something else once a week (aim is to wipe them out before they ever have a shot at establishing a foothold), be it Neem Oil or something else. I am toying around with the idea of planting rosemary in the pot with the cannabis and try companion growing since Rosemary oil is the main active ingredient in almost all the natural mite treatments. Figure it can't hurt to try it. Perhaps the smell will make them want to go elsewhere.

All in all Rooster, it just takes hard work brother....but you know this. I still have a few on my Blueberry plant and on one or two of my Durban branches. Predator mites seem to be helping keep them at bay and thats a decent option to just get you through til harvest.

Seems like I have been taking all the right steps. In my arsenal I have the diatrmaceous earth, neem oil, axamax, doctor doom, and sm-90

Never used water and alcohol but I'm going to start if it doesn't leave a taste on the plants. My problem right now is flower. I keep them pretty much knocked out in the veg room all the time. But they like my flower room. They are side by side too. I've definitely managed to keep them at bay but can't eradicate. Frustrations man. I havnt lost a crop or anything I'm just sick of the constant attentions I would say mite control eats up 3 hours a week maybe more. And it eats at my brain for at least 3 hours a day lol

I also cut any infected leaves off. Always have. There's no point in leaving the colony to spread. I defoliated the shit out of everything last night as well because I knew spraying through all those leaves wouldn't work. Much easier to strip them 40% and be able to hit all angles and nooks and crannies.

Sounds like we think alike bro

1. I don't have a serious note
2. Donkeys must love mites. Donkeys need lovin' too!
3. Mites are horrible little things and Van Stank is to mites what Rodrigo Duterte is to addicts so listen up! .
Yep I'm just thrilled he shared this! Exterminator van at your service

I also pull my garbage all the time. Super important that if you take the leaves off you get them out of the room and house. Bleach the floors once a week too. I think my problem right now is flies man. I have an old house and in the winter I get a shit ton of flies in the upstairs and I think they land on one plant and then land on another and carry the mites from place to place .

I get lady bugs too which last year knocked them out during the winter and I didn't have an issue again until June.
But this time I'm using the diatemaceous earth and I'm pretty sure it fucks up the lady bugs faster than it does the mites. I think I had better success letting them eat the mites rather than me dancing around the ring with them.

I didn't realize the DE kills the lady bugs! Wow. I think a colony of lady bugs is they way to go then bud. That with your shwazzers should at the very least keep them at bay. In would THINK anyways.

Ok 420 friends family and those hiding in the shadows following along, it's time for a much overdue update!!!

ABBIE

Ugh lesson learned. TMV is no joke and will henceforth and forevermore be banned from the tub! She will offer up some usable meds but.... meh.

On to the next one. Our start player and lovely lady GLORIA

420-magazine-mobile2007349507.jpg

I'm starting to think the light change (just the 2 hour difference) has kicked them into preflower. Almost undoubtedly. Which is fine!

420-magazine-mobile1770613667.jpg

I can hopefully get some defol and under shots tonight after I hit her with spinosad or neem.

Her arms are growing arms and I am very pleased at the abundance of bud sites! Almost 1 per square probably more.

LILLY

Pistol popping

Darn focus.

And IVY

420-magazine-mobile2099148395.jpg

May have gone a little high on the FIM again and got a FITM. But the auxins clearly redistributed because her lower growth is going great.

She will get a transplant either today or tomorrow as time permits.

And MAMA G

420-magazine-mobile867397254.jpg

She's rooted and growing but not well. Not sure if the nutes are too strong? So I made her some solution containing only cal mag and liquid karma.

And suggestions or recommendations are very appreciated!

And finally GOLDIE

420-magazine-mobile416243556.jpg

She also received the nute solution given to the clone. Just enough to get her to flush. Hopefully soon.

Second Lilly clone looks sad. Nearly dead. So I will see about doing the next set in straight water.... Hopefully with a airstone thrown in the mix.

The feed for Abbie and Gloria was...

6 ml cal mag xtra

5 ml sensi grow for coco part a

7.5 ml sensi grow for coco part b

5 ml voodoo juice

5 ml pirhana

5 ml liquid karma

No clue on the ppms.

Don't care. I know the base nutes are in the correct range and wanted to give her a second taste of micro beasties to help ward off the thripes, and encourage good health before another spray treatment.

This was how much Gloria chugged before run off

Starting today she gets her own gallon. I'm worried she's drying up too much with the increased temps. Thirsty girl .

LILLY will take Abbie's place today. And hopefully I can Bust out this veg cab and get the tub covered. Lots of work. Not lots of nap time to do it.

Catch you all later! Hope everyone's Friday is going awesome and until then may your plants prosper and buds swell.

Dabber

Woooo Dabber it's crazy to see how much Gloria has grown in such a short amount of time! So many beautiful tops getting ready to give you some super gerbil wangs here shortly :cheertwo:

Nice update, happy friday Dabber

Straight up you will get my vote for potm if you put Goldie up next month! Gorgeous Dabber love the love tub lol

Looking awesome bro! Where do you veg? My best friend has a tub grow and we split the height in half and he has a top over bottom set up that's super efficient
I vegged them right there in the tub . Now that I'm attempting to go perpetual it's going to get a little tricky but should be doable. I was considering a stacked set up, however it would have been a tight squeeze since Lilly is so tall. Still doable I'm the future, but firat thing is to pump out some meds so I can reevaluate if need be

Nice update. Damn dude...that Goldie is insane.
Haha thanks! Dank things can grow in small packages I guess!

Thanks big! She's certianly a frosty little gal! Can't wait to taste her soon . I'm thinking notm is a little more appropriate

Gloria looking fantastic
Thanks man. I'm very happy with her performance. Now if I can keep her clone alive she can live on!

Yeah I'm thinking the time switch really flipped her switch . It's like the 2 hours threw her into pre flower. Growing and inch or 2 a day now and eating like it's her last supper

Let me know if you think about going too over bottom and I'll get some pics of his set up. He doesn't have any height issues because he tied them down as soon as they have roots. But I would say he has a solid 56" of flower space and probably 36" of veg space under neath. His filter is tied into the shower exhaust and goes right up through the roof

I ran mine right into the bathroom vent.

Think of what Goldie could have given you if you could have pounded her with flower nutes! She is one cute spog® :)
True yours kinda make a her look starved . Hope your Friday's going good buddy!

Here is a peek at the musical chairs we played today.

Veg cab construction will begin today. I'm thinking 24" by 18" by 60"
