TheBlaze's Sour Chiesel - Blue Cheese & Black Rhino In Coco

Wish i coulda joined the party sooner. Noticed someone say its hard to get visitors during veg, im all about watching the whole process, and seeing what everyones doing to end up with the results their getting.

Im here now and all caught up. Plants are looking good!.

Welcome aboard guys. It's nice to see some new faces here.

You're just in time as well. Should get interesting soon.

The Blue Cheese is still stretching at a phenomenal pace. It must be the blueberry genetics responsible for that. It is now officially the biggest plant I've ever grown. It still has another week or so before it will stop stretching.

Will update with photos tomorrow morning.

Update

2 weeks of 12/12

Not much to report really. The blue cheese stretch is now up to 4cm a day, and has more than doubled in size in the last 2 weeks.

I've had to raise the other plants up, to get some light.

Well the wait was worth it...absolutely beautiful blaze, 4cm a day though is like WTF! are you adding steroids in the water lol? :grinjoint:

Yeah, I sh!t you not. I actually hope it stops soon. I keep having to raise the light every day. I'm going to run out of sh!t to use as building blocks to raise the other plants up. LOL!

I think the nutes I'm using now are very good.

Thanks for the compliment bud!

Thanks Shottafire. The nutes are called nutriplex. I'm pretty sure they're made by GT Hydro, a south african company. It is 3 part nutes for coco and hydro. Like so: Nutrients - Greenthumb Hydroponics

Hockeybry, the blue cheese has a very strong smell. Like chemical, cheese with some fruit added in. The sour chiesel smells the best though.

Picked up a problem this morning when I checked on them. Some leaves have yellow and rust brown spots on them. Is this possible nute burn (I am giving very strong nute levels at this point) or calmag deficiency?

Tomorrow night I will flush the plants with straight pH water.

Looking at a health problem chart, it looks most like a magnesium deficiency. I see the bloom portion of my nutes has the most magnesium in it at 3%. I haven't switched to bloom feeding schedule yet, so I will do that tomorrow night. So the bloom portion of the nutes will increase by about 45% which should give a nice boost in magnesium levels. If I don't see a noticeable difference in 48hrs after that, then I will flush with straight pH water.

I think thats where a lot of my yellowing stemmed from. Ive read in various places that certain nutrient and soil lines don't give enough cal-mag. especially BB. Best to sort it early i guess.

BB??

I spoke to the guys responsible for the nute line, and they say there is plenty of calmag in there. We will see what happens when I switch to flowering nutes. Otherwise I might have to go get some calmag and add that extra.

Also I'm sure the notifications for my subbed threads are very temperamental. I completely missed your update on the last page. They are looking sweet.

Thanks bud!

3% is quite high I think? Isn't it? I will be using 20ml of bloom in 8L of water. So that is effectively 6mg of magnesium sulphate in 8L of water.

I've never supplemented with calmag before, so not sure if 6mg in 8L is alot. What do you think?

Here is a link to the bloom part of my feeding schedule: Nutriplex Bloom 5L - Greenthumb Hydroponics

I've been doing some reading up and apparently the best thing is a foliar spray of diluted epsom salts. It is very cheap, so I think I will get some.
