TheBlaze's Sour Chiesel - Blue Cheese & Black Rhino In Coco

F#ck, I didn't think of that. LOL!

Although, the rough leaves are all at the bottom half of the plants. I think I will give it a bash and see what happens.

Cool, i will report back here. Sending the missus to buy some now... like a BAWS!! :icon_cool

Damn straight brother! My woman better not confuse this MJ induced, goofy look on my face for weakness.

Have you used epsom salts before?

You crack me up  but well said bro & too right!

Regarding epsom salts no I haven't used them. Are they meant to quickly help with magnesium probs? For my next grow I might add dolomite lime when preparing the soil, its meant to be an organic way of supplementing the plants with calcium & magnesium. But then again I assume the nutes I use (floraseries) already contain all those elements? will have to look into this deeper...
:nomo:

Yo bro...

Yes, it's the fastest way to fix a mag deficiency.

So I mixed half a tsp of epsom salts in a litre of water and sprayed the bottom half of the plants this morning. Did it just before the light goes out, so the light doesn't burn the plants. I was careful not to spray the buds, but I'm guessing a little got on some of them anyway.

Here are some pics I took before I did the foliar spray.

Day 16 of 12/12.

They look very nice, very healthy & very green. I suppose the extra mag & calc will give em a boost...I think magnesium helps the plants absorb nutes better so good idea. Hopefully you can spot some kind of improvement soon.

Thanks bud. The photos hide the leaves with problems though. There is obviously some wizardry going with the software my phone uses to take pics. By the way, those pics are taken with the HPS on. The phone automatically corrects the glare. Pretty cool.

:thumb: Sweet! That Black Rhino sounds interesting and I love the look of her.

:Namaste:
Bob

Thanks Bob!

The Black Rhino is actually my least favourite and I'm a little unsure about the genetics. I've read that it is either White Rhino x Black Afghan and then I read that it's actually White Rhino x OG Kush. So now I'm confused. It looks like a straight afghan to me though. Wouldn't surprise me if that's what it actually is. Just a pheno of Afghan. Either way, I'm very curious to see how she finishes up.

Supposed to be an early flowering strain, but I think it will go 10 weeks easy.

Here is the write up on Black Rhino from the seedbank I bought from:

Seedsman Black Rhino is one of our favourites with short squat plants that pack on the medical bud very very quickly. These feminised cannabis seeds are a cross of White Rhino the delicious monster plant with OG Kush. Expect very short sturdy cannabis plants with exceptionally strong branches that can hold enormous buds when fully mature. Fan leaves on these plants are huge indicating its 100% indica heritage. Black Rhino won’t take long to finish so be prepared for lots of dense clumpy nuggets of white THC covered dark green and long hairs of such a dark red that they are nearly black. Smells are reminiscent of OG Kush fruitness with a danker fuel like diesel hint. Black Rhino is a hard hitting plant typical of indicas it can induce couch lock very quick.

Thanks HB

I'm not sure if the epsom salts foliar spray helped much. I see the plants are clawing quite badly now, so tomorrow night I will be flushing them.

There is obviously a build up of salts in the medium, and it is causing lockout.

i have been watering until runoff everyday using half strength nutes with a little added calcium chelate and trace elements and my plants are some of the healthiest i have ever seen in person, check my grow in the signature for more info on exactly what i am feeding my girls

I just had a look now. Are those chemical or organic nutes. I take it the A + B is chemical? I see you use beneficial microbes. I have some, but wanted to know if I can use it with chemical nutes and coco. What do you think?

if you are referring to the defense system beneficial bacteria i am unsure if it works with my other products, the initial package i ordered was meant to come with nutrifield elements a&b grow and a&b bloom but i swapped them out for nutrifield coco a&b. i only used the defense system beneficial bacteria when i first prepared coco for pots

Is nutrifield coco A + B chem nutes? If so, then I am going to use the beneficial bacteria when I flush the plants tomorrow to try and help clear out the salt build up.

one thing i will say is the defense system beneficial bacteria raised ph considerably I don't know if they helped but i don't think they hurt either
