TheBlaze's LED & HPS Grow - Coco & Perlite

Everything I've heard about g13 sounds good. I think they're definitely one of the good breeders out there & I say that without ever popping one of their seeds although I do have their blue venom & double black which will be grown soon I hope.

With regards to their c99 it say's on the description its JH & Haze. They should have used another title buy they obviously wanna cash in on c99's reputation which is fair enough as long as they don't hide the lineage. What's funny is that theirs is more expensive as well...it's not often we see a copy being sold at a higher price than the original. Go figure.

I''ve not seen the strains you're growing. I have grown all their parents though ;) Looking forward to seeing how they mature :thumb:

Welcome brother!

Sol, the original is from Brothers Grimm. If you go and have a look at the breeding done by them on Cinderella 99 it is quite a convoluted affair. Check out the seedfinder site to see what I mean. ;)

Thanks bro. Yes I know the original is from brothers grimm but they stopped for years. Female seeds continued with it, either from a clone or very close to it which is what I meant by 'original' or 'closest' to it.

I'm glad you brought this up because I checked for brother grimm again & guess what? they're just back in business after all these years. I think they opened up again last month...nice coincidence. Obviously now if you want c99 you know where to find the 'true' original.

:Namaste:

I wonder if they still have their original stock though. I read Simon from Serious Seeds lost a lot of his parent stock a few years back. I think due to run ins with the law.

I might shoot for the female seeds variety then rather. How do you know they have the closest to the original though? Sorry, not calling BS just want to expand my horizons.

Im growing the G13 C99 right now, got 2 free with each Attitude order so have 6 of them  I wanted to grab some from brothers grimm when they opened back up on 4/20 but could only buy them from one place and couldnt afford the $150us they want and dont tell you how many beans you get.

Just read the breeding history of C99 on brothers grimm website. Makes more sense now. That princess cut he had has mystery origins. Jack Herer mother, but no one knows what pollinated to create Princess.

They then outcrossed Princess to Shiva Skunk. Then backcrossed 3 generations to get back to a plant that showed more princess traits. The resulting strain is cinderella 99. Going to be hard for anyone to copy that. Might get close though I suppose.

From the site, it looks like he lost all his genetics and had to turn to others for the genetics. If anyone can recreate it though, it would be them.

Well according to their website they had to close shop all those years ago because of security concerns but they stashed away all their best clones & seeds which they've retrieved. So it's maybe still good who knows.

Why do I think female seeds have the original or closest to? well before buying the seeds I did a lot of research online. Time & time again female seeds came up as the 'best' c99 or at least the closest to the original. The reviews were also great. At least now we have the option except that brothers grimm don't do feminised seeds.

:Namaste:

A lot of money for an original that might not be so original either. This shit is always so confusing, but fun at the same time.

all this crossing & back-crossing is giving me a sore head

Sorry did you say $150 for an undisclosed number of seeds? regular seeds also, not feminised.

Yep, check their website and go to availability, there is one online store and one dispensary ;)

edit... found the amount, 10 regulars.

For me works out at $20.58au per bean, not including shipping/stealth

Yeah, that is crazy expensive for regs. Do we know if the new C99 has gone through the same rigorous breeding to get it stable with the traits it is known for, or did they rush it to get to market. Too many question marks for me thanks.

Hopped on to that Journal now LA. It's big though. I assume towards the end of the journal?
