TheBlaze: Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1

Thanks brother

Yeah, fully agreed. I look forward to harvest time for obvious reasons, but cringe at the work involved. LOL

Do you wet trim? I've had more than a few 8 to 10 hour sessions and hated every minute of it. Ive been dry trimming my last few harvests and will never go back.

They look great Blaze. Nice health green. Getting nice stretch, not too leggy..

Yes, I wet trim. I tried dry trimming but like that even less for some reason. Can't remember why anymore. LOL! My wife does the trimming while I do the bud washing. Sweet deal.

Thanks mate. I've noticed stretch is slowing down now. So the plants will get a bit bigger over the next week but not by too much.

IMO wet trimming is easier, looks better, and there are machine options as well. Dry trimming is a bit of a pain, but the buds smell better if left to dry with the leafs on. So, I dry trim if it's for me. Wet trim if it's getting donated. :) I quit washing buds, even what I smoke. Just like it better without. If I get any mold spores, I'm washing tho yessiree :Namaste:

Flowers soon :Namaste:

I'm exactly the same.. everything you wrote there.. I trim mine before a smoke may be the only difference, part of the ritual of mullen up, lol..

Most if not all fans are gone off mine before harvest  if too leafy I might cut the points off the leaves so they don't dry to folded into flowers.. but so much easier trimming as you go :rofl:

I just wish i had some more space so i could use the machine i bought 6 months ago  trimming would take about 5 mins then  sux that its sitting there and i cant use it  i find i get lazy about half way through and then the rest goes into a tub and gets trimmed as i need it, don't even really use trimmers anymore either, all mostly done by hand :)

I am huge fan of bud washing. I definitely notice a difference in dry and cure times. For me, that's all the motivation I need. I don't even do it for the cleanliness or to maintain the moral high ground I see others take.

UPDATE

2 weeks of 12/12

The spotlight is on one of the strawberry amnesias tonight.

Let's chat about blue dream. I popped 3 beans. Of those 3, 2 were mutants. Of those 2, one was growing like absolute shit. So I culled her. The other mutant still grows reasonably well, so she is still around. The third one looks to be a good one. She is a big beautiful girl and is leading the pack in bloom. I took a photo of one of the mutations on the ugly sister. I really hope she produces some gnarly buds. The pretty one looks like she will end heavy. :thumb:

The babies in full organic soil. Just gave them their first biobizz feed tonight as well.

I see the leaf edge smudging...but the color looks off too. Looks like she is variegated, and if so, not a problem. I don't know the cause, but I recall it being viral, and often passed down in heirlooms used as parent stock. Won't affect anything really, it's minor. Stress will bring it out more, usually see it show up around stretch, so typically just a few late-to-the-party fans affected. :thumb:

Does it change color as if there's an invisible line, light green, darker green?

Did you see the little leaf growing on top of the big leaf? So 10 leaves in total on that fan. She has been wonky from the start, but she grows reasonably well, so I decided to let her be.

Looking sweet Blaze. Think you will enjoy the organic smoke. Much smoother and I love the taste.

Thanks Pat. I'm excited to go the organic route. Feels like I'm starting from the beginning again.

OK, then not the variegation, but still no big deal. Plant tissue is very fluid and adaptable, and it gets a little dodgy at times. Leaf, petiole, branch, root, it can be whatever it needs to be.

Organics are just more about the soil, than the nutes, so there's not a big learning curve. Just mix up a good soil recipe, and pick some low feeding strains, and water them when needed. You can obviously add some goodies to help too, but really the plant is going to take what it needs if the soil is good. :thumb: Big pots, easy breezy. ;)

I had one of those same mutant leaves on my LA Confidential. The leaf looked healthy otherwise. No action based on something like this eh Blaze? I let mine be as well.

Keep those organic tips coming bud. Is 7 gal pots big enough?

LA Conf is one of the strains I've wanted to grow for a while now. Just never seem to get around to it. I'm glad I can follow your journal and see what it performs like. I can tell you, I won't be growing blue dream again even though the one looks to be pretty decent. Need to get some exodus kush back into my garden.
