TheBlaze: Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1

just add your calmag while mixing with the ec pen until 0.3/0.4 then add base nute to 1.0.

The calmag is not liquid but granules. Have to shake and stir the shit out of it to get it to mix properly.

No worries, I will get it right.

Ok cool. I will try and track some down. In South Africa, there are not too many options available.

...or mix it ahead of time in warmish water and use the solution in your nute mix.

Yeah, I take like two teaspoons of those calmag balls that we get at our hydro stores, mix it in boiling water about 300ml. I pour half or a third into my nutrient mix, check ppm to see how much it has gone up, then add more accordingly to get up to 150/200ppm above the ppm of your base water. Then add everything else one by one and check ppm as I go

Just a few granules (the tip of a teaspoon) raised EC by 0.4 up to 0.56

Its not the end of the world though. Now i know

Yeah it's strong stuff, 1-2teaspoons for 25L seems to do the job for me. It also contains quite a bit of nitrogen unfortunately (n) the GTHydro calmag doesn't say so on the packaging but it's actually calmag nitrate. So be weary of that, think it's where Pat got his nitrogen toxicity from last grow.

I didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up bud
The cape town hydro store sells it with the composition on the label.

I then bought it from gthydro thinking it was plain calmag, but when I saw it was also granules I emailed them and they said its calmag nitrate - poes gay haha

UPDATE

Day 12

They are looking better and growing reasonably well. Only one blue dream still looks rough. You can see from the photos that they are hungry, which makes sense considering I doubled their nutes today and still only hit an EC of 0.8. Will increase it by another 50% tomorrow.

Thanks Asesino. Can't wait to see them tomorrow after the heavier feed today.

They are def hungry, and taking it in, you can see the greened up core of the leafs. Adding Cal Nitrate N won't adversely effect the strains you are running, at the rates needed - especially once they get a bit bigger. Just don't bury them, you'll push out almost every other nute. Me no coco, but I'd hit em with a foliar with Ca and N and any bene bact/fung inoculation...they look big enough. That will give more headroom to more lightly supplement with Ca, and leave plenty of room under your PPM ceiling, for your base nutes.

I haven't considered them pat. I'm not really on the hunt for purple strains. Just had them, so thought why not give it a go. Hoping I get something nice out of them.

When do you think you will get your seeds Pat? You jumping into another grow then?

They say it is a 100% indica the aya, said to be a real kick in the nuts type vibe you know. They should be here within a week or two. I am moving the end of the month to a new place so going to get the little Mars 700 back up and running while I save up a bit for a different setup. So far going with HPS 600 but my heart aches for a 315 CMH

Looking better already mate :)

Now I understand why on previous grows every time I gave just calmag and water (alot of it) the next day they would be super lush and green.

Thanks for the advice bud. I'm scared of the EM-prosoil I used to use, simply because it was soon after I used it on the previous crop that it all went to hell in a handbasket. I'm not saying it was that. Just a little nervous of using it this round. Think I'm just going to stick to base nutes, some calmag, and that's about it. Will use the EM-prosoil in the last 2 or 3 weeks of flower though.

Are you suggesting I start IPM with the fungal spray and then take it from there?

Thanks bud!

If u combine your LED panel with HPS you will get killer results bud.

Looking better already mate :)

Thanks brother!

Just bought some beans. Not much, but it will do for the next round of ladies, at which point I can place a bigger seed order.

Disclaimer: It's fem beans. Sorry Grizz and Feral :cheesygrinsmiley:

3 x Dinachem (dinafem)

Chemdawg 91 x Guava Chem

3 x Critical + (dinafem)

Skunk #1 x Afghani

I've asked that they replace the 2 freebie seeds with Purple Envy again as I still have 3 of them left and I quite like their vigour.

  all good bro, id probably recommend you stick to fems right now anyways being a cash crop, once everything is running smooth you can have a play around with regs :thumb:

Exactly my thoughts as well. Still want to try my hand at Cindy, but for now all I want are a few successful harvests behind me.
