TheBlaze: Genesis, Chapter 1, Verse 1

Yeah id never go off the bottle mate, those mixtures are usually what they recommend on the strongest feed and I'm probably lucky to reach half that. Best thing with flora nutes would be to jump on here:

General Hydroponics – Grow indoor. Grow outdoor. Grow with us.

That is for 4L or a gallon of water, half strength of what they recommend is a good starting point and work your way up from there :thumb:

Yeah, for sure bud. I'm only on 1/4 strength feed at the moment, but I have a feeling I'm using really hard water after Cultivator's advice about an EC/TDS meter. I'm actually quite curious to see what it will be. Going to get one in a few hours.

Thanks for the link bud.

Damn the luck dude. Alls I can offer is a hug. Lots of advice so far tho, hope these betties get straight for ya.

LOL! Thanks brother. :cheesygrinsmiley:

So I take it there is a consensus it is a lockout, or nute burn, and not pests right?

Hanging wet towels in my tent always helps me keep my humidity higher at this point as it is always low because the plants are so small. That may help a little too. I did a post in my new journal on how I feed if you want to check it out since we both use GH flora series and 70/30 combo. EC/PPM meter is a must now for me. Made a huge difference. You'll love it.

Thanks Asesino

Was only able to get an EC meter. Not EC/TDS. Anyway, my tap water measures in at an EC of 0.17 after standing for 2 days. That is quite soft isn't it?

Plants look ok. They have grown quite a bit in the last 24 hours. Although the damage on the first set of leaves is more pronounced.

Yesterday they just got calmag. That was done before the advice received here.

I also managed to sort out the humidity issue.

Have a look.

Nitrogen deficiency?? Bearing in mind it's only the first set of leaves that are affected, and I have been feeding them a very low dose.

Will be interesting to see how much nutes I need to add to get it to an EC of 1.0

Does this look the same as the last lot? What have you changed in last six months, if anything? :passitleft:

Now that you have an EC pen all your nutrient issues will come to an end small hurdle, I'm sure they are going to bounce back and show some explosive growth! I had a similar issue with the first true leaves, now my ladies booming :)

I would struggle without my ec pen big time!

Not the same. Last time round it started with the new growth. First it looked like a magnesium def, then an iron def as it progressed, and then it all went to hell in a hand basket. This time round it is starting from the bottom. The top half of the plants look fantastic. If I cut away those first leaves they would look the picture of health.

ok now i know your tap water starting point its easy to work out. are these photo period plants? of so do this...

cal mag to value of 0.4ec thrn bump it up to 1.0ec with base nute.

ph 5.8

feed daily. problem will be solved if its nutrient related.

They are photo period.

Ok awesome, I will do exactly that. Thanks my man!

Let's hope so bud

What the hell is going on, looking at others feeding charts, buying pens etc.. I've seen you grow the last couple years, you grew two potm, now your getting help like your a first time grower. Has me scratching my head a little.. get back and do it how you did is my advice

I'm quite stoned, so bear with me here... this shit is going to get deep. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I wish it were that easy Grizz. I made my fair share of mistakes when I started growing 4 years ago. Then I got a fairly good handle on pH and the nutes I was/am using, and it got pretty easy. So easy, I figured I could quit my job and pursue this as more than just a hobby. I sunk alot of money into building a "proper" grow room with decent equipment, and I had a lot riding on that first crop, but I wasn't worried... because I'm awesome and this shit is easy. We all know what happened to that crop. Worse than the financial ass raping I took, was the fact that I seemed fucken powerless to do anything about it. Right now, POTM doesn't mean shit to me. Something has changed, and I can't seem to figure out what it is. If I am unable to go back to the drawing board to try and figure this out, then it is probable I will lose this round as well. My confidence is shattered. I believe I can get back to where I was, but I need to figure out where I went wrong.

I hope that wasn't too drama llama. It feels like it might be. LOL!

I feel you mate.. I'm supportive bro, not trying to bring you down, opposite.. I know you had shit riding on it. This prolly won't help but it's life. When shits stressful it's harder, we poor negativity into it. the environment/electro magnetic fields whatever it is, it just happens and quickly becomes accepted as normal. It's not. But we so busy correcting everything in a stressful manner that breeds more negativity/unwanted results. So what to do.. accept failure or try to learn new to correct it or go back to just doing it without stress and getting the results you know you get.. car crash, wanting to avoid the tree that your focused on, guess what your hitting? pity all this stuff is invisible and very easily be bullshit but there's more to life. Pick couple flowers and do the negative/positive test to them, results may suprise.. anyway, bit of bullshit but point is, state of mind can determine results.. ..

its very easy to grow a plant or 2 well. when you switch to working it changes level. more plants means less attention per plant and more to look after. its still a full time job when its commercial. trust me ive lost crops worth over 100k. however if you stick at it and dial it in theres no better job.

There is wisdom in your words bud. I am trying to be more positive, and I definitely am this time round. I really do believe this round will come good for me.

What is the negative/positive test?

Yeah, I've dialed it back down a bit for this second round now. I figure its better to get the ball rolling and get some cash flow happening and then build up from there.

This is my dream job. Just didn't realise my dream job would have so many potential pitfalls. LOL!

Happy to see Cultivator here... It's been awhile.:thumb:

Glade to see your new growth looking good. Just a minor hiccup that happens to all of us.

Thanks bud. Just woke up now. Looking forward to getting to the grow to see the girls.

Ok, that was a little tricky but I will get the hang of it quickly. Only managed to get the nute mix to an EC of 0.72 and pH of 5.7. I don't want to mess around with it too much, so I will use it like that for today. Tomorrow I will get much closer to an EC of 1.0.

What I've learned. Calmag increases EC significantly. Nutes increase it in much smaller increments. pH will also increase it by about 0.07 to 0.1.

Tomorrow I will add a lot less calmag and a lot more nutes.
