The pH took a dive shortly after the res change. Next time I'll add less pHdown with the res change, knowing the pH should go down as the MC goes into solution. It's good now, and they're liking 910 ppm (1.8ec).

I didn't really do anything in the tent for the first week of flower, letting them grow unmolested. I did move the VSFD6500 up a couple of inches. I also centered it above the grow instead of the middle of the tent. The canopy has stayed pretty even, but they sure are getting bushy! They are looking really healthy and flowering well.

Today I started 'thinning' them. I started from the bottom, getting rid of any leaves near the net and any sub-branches that were too small to make it to the canopy. I was looking for big fan leaves that would never see the light again and getting rid of them. Then I looked straight down at them. Anywhere it looked too dense I moved the top leaves aside and plucked a few large fans in the shade.

I only got the front today, so tomorrow I get the back. I'd rather get rid of this stuff sooner than later, though. Why waste flowering energy? Once I get the back done I'll put up the second net and start guiding the buds through it. Just a couple more weeks of stretch to keep this canopy as even as possible.

Wow. They look familiar:hmmmm: but this group of girls is a little bigger.:cheesygrinsmiley:
And not quite as far along in flower. These ladies are so easy to grow, I'm just hoping they stay like this through flower :)

Yesterday afternoon, I bent a few over a little, and tied them, to fill in some open space and give other stalks more light. They are a little big now to bend over enough to change screen holes. :hmmmm::)

I haven't even installed my upper net yet. I need to finish thinning the back before I do. Once that second net is installed I'm not really going to be able to do much in that back-middle.

What's your distance going to be between the nets?

I usually start around 12-16". As the buds approach the net in stretch, I LST to the bottom net to keep them even and space them out. If they're really stretching, though, I'll move the top net up to support the buds.

I finished thinning the back of the tent today. I remember why I was putting it off, too. It's a back-breaker. I'm either sitting beside the tent trying to reach in and clean up the underneath, or bent over trying to reach below the buds in the back-middle.

I started with Sofia on the back-right. These pictures are taken from the right door in the tent.

After I was done with Sofia my back needed a break. I've been wanting to put the Vivosun VSFD6500 near the top of the tent. So I bought some chain and a few carbiners. I made four pieces of chain to connect the four eyelets on the VSFD6500. I looped the chains around the tent support bars and clipped them to the light. Then I put the light @ 100%. They're at about 35DLI and 800PPFD. And now they have plenty of room to stretch!

I finished the cleanup with Camila on the back-left. These pictures are taken from the left tent opening.

This weekend I'll put in the upper net. Once that's in, it'll be near impossible to reach that back-middle. That's OK, though. I'm ready to leave them alone and let them stretch!

Nice canopy , i see I'm not the only person that uses ladybugs nature's terminator
Thanks Mel. It seems like the mites are gone for now, but the ladybugs still own the basement ;)

Frickin' carpet of green! COG?

Thanks Shed. I'm happy I can still see through the canopy a little bit, it means I've been keeping up with the defol :)

Yesterday I put up the upper trellis net. It's 16" above the first net, or at least 16" above where the first net is installed. These ladies are pulling that first net up some. Either way, the first net is installed at the 26" mark (7" above the buckets), and this net is installed at 42" mark.

It's funny, the canopy looked pretty even before putting up the second net. When that top net is installed you can see all the taller and shorter buds. It really helps to see where the canopy needs tweaking.

So I spent some time leveling the canopy. I removed most of the original LST. Most of them were loose anyways, with only a few of the main branches still needed. Some of them were holding branches a little too low. Then I added a few LST points back where buds were sticking up. I supercropped a couple of buds where LST wouldn't work. It looked much more even when I was finished, although it's hard to tell in the pictures.

For the next week or two it's all about trying to keep them level and evenly spaced. The trellis net helps. As I pull down or supercrop buds I'll fill spaces that are empty. As they stretch I'll eventually let the buds come up through the trellis so that it will help support the ripening buds. These ladies are flowering hard and stretching well so I need to keep on my toes for a few more days.

Thanks man. I'm very happy with them at this point, now I just need about a foot more stretch :)
