The Quadsquad Thread: A Community For Quadlining

Just like tomatoes, the stem will grow roots (advantageous roots) if planted deeper in soil but I've read that those roots are actually a sign of stress which makes sense since you are burying the crown deeper than it was before which forces the plant to restructure itself as @Thirvnrob mentioned.
Actually, that would be adventitious roots (damn auto correct! 😡

Lol Rob you saying I talk too much? Maybe you should go grab a coffee!🤣🤣🤣.
You posted that info a couple days before I planted two apple trees and a peach tree in my backyard & I applied that newly gleaned knowledge to that transplant. You keep talking. I’ll keep brewing coffee & learning!

Day 44 from sprout.

I don't think I'm going to do anymore training at this point. Most of the mains have extended to edge of pot and have formed a pretty even canopy. The GDP is a little taller in the top nodes but the branches have kind of grown funny with a twist so it's been iffy trying to train them.

First plant is Bubba Kush (i think took the training better)

Second is GDP, had some kinks with it stretching a lot but ive read it likes to be a tall plant so that could have been partly why.

Yall think these are ready to start letting them ststretch?

Man what an amazing thread here full of great information!!!

I see @g-one-three and @Ramblinrose1965 are on their first quads as well!!! Glad I am keeping a close eye on their journals :)

I was just poking around the tent to see what items I needed to gather to prep my first quad and decided I should have a good look over here. Glad I did!

More to come once my lady is ready to start her training!

Hey @Ke0ncp thanks for the tag. I've been hiding in the shadows over here for a bit. A great thread indeed. I have got some great ideas reading thru it.

I'm loving that light meter you recommended. Heres the girls

When quadlining isn't enough you have options :yahoo:

Maui Wowie was growing 3X as much as my other quadlined ladies

I installed three bamboo poles and a wire hoop at ~30". I super cropped the three tallest colas to ~38" and tied all of the cola's to the wire hoop.

They grew another 10" along the hoop and 6" up o_O

I then pulled the three tallest into the middle with butchers twine and binder clips !

At that point the center was pretty well empty and available ;)

All of the girls height adjusted for an even canopy ;)

Hey yall, got my journal up and going. Wasn't able to backlog everything I've documented but everything going forward will be. Here is my link.

Hi all, I know this is somewhat strain dependent but what do you think is a good size space for quadlining? I plan on doing 9 plants in a 1.2m squared tent so around 40cm squared (around 16") per plant. I know people here will be biased towards quadlining but I'd appreciate some honest pros and cons of quadlining that number of plants in that space vs other methods. Thanks!
