The Purple Experiment

I realized today that I haven't updated this journal in a coupe of weeks, sorry about that! After the granddaddy purple came down I was pretty focused on my og kush grow but now that one plant is in cure and the other is hanging to dry from that grow I can focus on finishing this one up as best I can.
Purple punch is looking great and will be coming down early next week I think. I have been checking trichomes and see lots of cloudy/milky but no amber yet. She has been going through a fade though. All of the plants in this tent yellowed a bit early from what I would have estimated, I wonder if that's something I'm doing wrong? Hopefully in the next few days her trichs will start to turn amber, she's into week 14 from sprout so it has to be close I'd like to think. Here are the pictures from the last two weeks.
Last week:

This week:

Do si dos is trucking along as well, the buds are stacking on this one, and I'm finally starting to see some purple in the fan leaves, no color in the buds yet, but they are still young. I'd say this plant has at least another four weeks to it, this girl is a LONG auto.

Pictures from last week:

And this week:

Thats all for this week, sorry again about missing an update, but this is now my only active tent so it will be my sole focus at least through the purple punch grow, Then I'll be starting a new grow, but more on that when I update my signature :fastwinky: .
Thanks for hanging out!

What's going on here?
Does she have some budrot?
The pic is blurry. Sorry
But a major discoloration is usually a sign of something wrong.
Probably rot.
Hopefully it only one spot.
Check everywhere.

Edit: I looked a little closer, and what I was seeing is the mane of the rocking horse in the background.
It looked like the tip of the bud was brown at first.
Ah yes, the rocking horse of rot...I should really not have that creepy thing from my childhood in the background of pictures lol Thanks for looking out, the tip of the purple punch isnt brown, at least not from what I saw when taking the photos. The pistils are turning a nice orange though so between the two I could see the confusion. I have been worried about rot in all of my grows though so I'll do a double check tomorrow

The purple punch is coming down tonight or during the day tomorrow, depends on how the rest of the work day goes. A couple of the branches have completely pinched themselves and flopped over. I think for future grows in this tent I'll move the fans around a bit. I have a vivosun smart fan in this tent that I am controlling with the grow hub, but I don't think the recipe I'm using cranks the fan up as high as I like it, which I'm attributing to the weak stems. I might be wrong about that though and I'm thinking of introducing silica to my next grow but I'm not sure how to use it. Is there a guide here or does anyone know of a good guide to using silica?
I'll post pictures when the chop starts, after that plant comes down the only growing plant I'll have left is the do si dos. Looks like its time to clean the tents and start another crop :ganjamon:

Purple punch is down and is hanging to dry. This plant was super pretty, but had started to seriously foxtail at the end. I think I waited long enough for the trichs to all be milky, I didn't see a lot of amber but from what people told me in my last auto grow that autos sometimes don't get amber trichs I decided to take it down. On top of that a couple of the branches had pinched their own stems and were leaning over under the weight of the buds they were holding so I figured better safe than sorry. Here's what she looked like when I took her down:

I know this main cola isn't huge compared to some of the grows I've seen here, but this is the biggest one I've ever grown

Even some of the secondary buds are huge on this plant!

I didn't get the coloration I was looking for but there seem to be hints of purple in there

I'll report back when this one is dry with a trimmed weight.

Do si dos...Still growing, this plant has only just started producing trichomes, and will officially be the longest running auto flower I've ever grown. This is the start of week fifteen from sprout on this plant. Buds are stacking up though and the fan leaves are giving me some purple color. It has had a large leaf die back though that has confused me. In fact all the plants in this tent had a severe yellowing/die back of fan leaves. I'm not sure what I did wrong to cause that, but I'm wondering if it has to do with my ph meter.
Here's how she looks this week, only two pictures because I was focused on pulling dead leaves off.

That's all for this week, see you next week and thanks for hanging out!

Today is the start of week 16 from sprout, what I'm calling week 12 of flower for the do si dos, this plant is still growing I'm honestly confused by what is taking it so long. Trichome production looks like its basically just starting, and the buds look light and airy. This tent has kind of been an issue from the get go so I'm not sure I can even really take any lessons on the strains from this one. The plant also dries out a day before I think it should every time which has been causing it to droop a bit before almost all its waterings. Could that account for the slow growth? Any way, here she is:

I'm not sure why my plants have been having their fan leaves die off either but that keeps happening as well. I have been watering with ph'd water mostly between 6.2 and 6.3 although later in the grow I've allowed the ph to have a bit more range as I've heard that can help with nutrient uptake in the later parts of the grow, but I've only let it get as high as 6.5. Any ideas or tips you guys have are appreciated.

The purple punch is still hanging in my closet, its on day 8 of drying. I've been able to keep the conditions better this time with a temperature right at or around 70f and a humidity level of 50-55%. I don't think those conditions will get me to a 14 day dry, but I think a 10 day is a reasonable expectation. I'll update when I trim and bag that plant for its cure.
Thanks for hanging out this week! :roorrip:Cheers!

Are you feeding nutrients or just ph'd water?

I usually do two waterings a week, one plain ph'd water, one ph'd with nutrients
That’s generally considered the correct way to feed soil.
She ate all her fan leaves for some reason.
There must be something wrong with nutrient uptake.
Or environmental factors.
Something definitely went pear shaped. :Namaste:
As long as she is finishing up that’s the main thing.
