The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Weekly Update: Candy Cane & Carn2:1 (Emerald) - Friday, February 3, 2027

I keep forgetting I flipped them. :laughtwo: They're 5 days in. They look happy, don't they?

IMG_391518.JPG

No complaints about the environment in here. That humidifier seems to be up to the job. The SWICK isn't a significant contributor to the humidity levels in a way you might expect.

IMG_391612.JPG

Keeping a nice canopy at this point, at least. That may be more of a challenge as we progress, particularly with the Candy Cane, but with Velcro and a bit of ingenuity, it shouldn't be insurmountable. I still have another couple inches to raise the lights too. Don't you love the energy of flowering? :cheesygrinsmiley:

IMG_391713.JPG

Emerald (Day 101) What can I say? She's come so far, and she was hankerin' to at the game of blossoming. She's on full flowering nutes now and sucking up every drop within three days. :slide:

IMG_391915.JPG

Candy Cane (Day 61) She's getting water only, and just occasionally at that. I'll need to remember to get her some EWC topping for the bloom. Her SWICK is sucking up almost 2 quarts a day, so she's drawing a significant amount of moisture from the reservoir. The nice thing is the daughter will only have to pour water in every two days and walk away. Notice the pattern developing here? :laughtwo:

This plant has a startling amount of healthy energy emanating from her. Strong, succulent branches that look like they're going to explode with blooms.

One last look back, and we're on to the bathroom clones. :ciao:

Congrats :) As if it were ever in question!

:peacetwo:

Aww.... Thanks mouser. :laughtwo: I'll have you know, I held my breath until the polls closed and Mr. Teddy posted that delightful announcement. I don't these things for granted at all. That light will have to go into storage until I relocate, but my new perch has an entire room I can grow in. :slide: :yahoo: When I get that all squared away I'll be setting up the 4x4 with all these lights ablazin'.

Weekly Update: Bathroom Clones, Friday, February 3, 2017

At 55 days past Flip these girls are all rolling towards harvest, but I'm not convinced they'll be ready to chop before I fly out on Friday. I may opt to water them thoroughly before I leave and let them fend while I'm gone. My thought is they're so close now that it won't matter if they end up drying on the vine. I know I don't want the daughter to even have to come in here and deal with them at all.

Let's start with the Carn2 trio. I still think of them as a unit. Carn2:2 is on the bottom of this picture, with Carn2:3 to the top left and Carn2:4 on the right. They're all at Day 101. Their last drench was Monday, full flowering nutes, and I'll be flushing them all tomorrow so they can dry out enough to take another serious drink before I leave.

Who knows? They might still be plugging away when I get back. I'm not starting any DDA until I get this space cleared out. This is my intended starting grow area for the DDA rotations. I'll be running them perpetually, two at a time.

Carn1:3 (Day 106) Possibly my best Carnival buds since my first try. :blunt: I'm impressed as hell at how this one turned herself around. She had water only on Wednesday, and her next drink will be the same. I'll let her ride through the vacation too, unless she forces me to take her down before that by going amber.

Weekly Update: CBD Critical Cure (Day 53)

This plant loves this light. She may protest when I throw her into flower in another month. :laughtwo: She'll be the next one in line behind Carn1:4, once the tent is scoured clean of the mite population.

What a beauty, eh? It's the light. I sure hope they still plan to treat me to that light we talked of last year. I still haven't contacted Dan, but I'm good no matter what. Hard to be unhappy with what I already have on hand. :battingeyelashes: I'm simply blown away by the quality that grows in this closet.

IMG_395114.JPG

You see I have some sort of spacial challenge going when I plant. I swear guys, I stood right over the pot and thought I had it centered until I stepped back later. lol! She got ten gallons of fresh soil under her on the 1st.

I'm tucking the tops under these monster fans to give the side colas time to catch up. Next week I'll start tying branches down to open her up and keep her low.

IMG_395612.JPG

Yeah..... Super-quality meds growing here. I'm missing my CBD capsules. I hope that clone takes and I have a jumpstart on the next one. I'd like to take one of these down every month, to be honest, until I get a decent supply behind me to experiment with oils.

IMG_395711.JPG

That's the wrap-up for the week. It's surprising how fast that week goes. :laughtwo: I find myself thinking "It's Friday already?" Lol!

Thank you you all for stopping by. It's much more fun to grow cannabis when you get to share the joy with friends. I need to find something akin to honest-to-God food here soon. I've been moving steady now for many hours without pausing for sustenance. I'll be seeing you around the yards later. :green_heart:

:Namaste:

Well I've decided to go the paper-bag route. I've removed all the nugs from their stems and placed them in a brown paper bag to dry. They've been drying now for 7 days. The outsides of nugs are dry to the touch. I will eventually move them into a mason jar.

Nice buds Hush

can you share a few more details?

was that after hanging for a while, or harvested and tight into the bag?

how often you open the bag and for how long?

I normally hang and then into big metal popcorn tins for a few days, then Jars.
seems to be one of the more precise things in a grow and one I haven't mastered yet.
I do good, but no where near mastering a nice not to dry flavorful nug, mmmmmm

This grow segment isn't about medicinal as much as culinary, and I can choose to see any mite carcasses that survive the wash as extra nutrients I wasn't initially planning on.

I'm glad someone else gets this! I'm wondering what essential oils they may contribute? Probably just the ones they stole in the first place. :laughtwo:

Here's an almost serious thought. I saw your pans of water and thought of new mite treatment - total submersion. If I invert the plant over a 32 gallon can and submerge the leaves for 30 min the plant should be fine, but mites/insects should drown. I would rest the pot/soil on rods across the top with plant hanging down. Think it would work?

Damn! How do you continually read my mind like that? :laughtwo: While I was working on her I kept thinking that if she was in a smaller pot and I blocked the soil and inverted her into water I'd be able to swish the buggers off. Lol! Suddenly I had a flash of some contraption that would do that mechanically with ten gallons of soil held intact.

Good grief, you guys have me thinking of my grow in terms of a Loony Tunes reality. :laughtwo:

It's not a bad idea KR, but I wouldn't bother submerging for that long. I'd work more on swish, drain, refill and repeat to be sure they weren't crawling onto the stem. I can actually see where this would work. If you had some way to flip the pot you could blast them off the leaves with an aggressive spray. Too bad that 10 gallons of soil weighs so much. Lol!

It is an art form Hash Hound. Rex Pigeons (formerly Pigeons420) does a fine job with his, and seems quite happy with his results.

I just realized I'd forgotten to answer your PM. Let me go do that. :battingeyelashes:

Is it taboo to say sell that beast and get a fleet of single cob light engines like this being that you are a fluid grower. I think they are like 150 each...no affiliation I just love cobs.

Wow Hab, that's beautiful!!! How perfectly me. Lol! $150 each, huh? Do they come as a kit or did you work that up yourself? Whatever, I love the look, and we already know I love the light.

I'm not comfortable with selling a prize. Trading for the materials to make those...... that would tempt me. It wouldn't take a lot for my limited spaces, would it? Darn you anyway Hab. :laughtwo:

Doesn't it just make your heart skip a beat Spookies? A thing of beauty. :dreamy: It took me back to my first grow...... Ahhhh......

Peace Hash Hound. Well to answer your questions.
1st-I chopped and hung the entire plant upside down inside my grow tent after removing all the fan leaves and some sugar leaves. There more leaves that are left the longer it take for buds to dry.
2nd- Since I noticed that by being in the tent they were not drying as fast as I thought they should. Probably because they air flow was not good being inside the tent and if left a strong odor in my room. So I decided to trim off all the nugs from the individual bags
3rd- I decided to go the paperbag method because the bag would still allow them to breath as a paper bag isn't as air tight as a mason jar and I wouldn't have to worry about moisture build up. With the bag some of that moisture can be absorb by the bag. I do At least once a day open the bag and shake it to move buds around and dry evenly also to prevent wet spot from buds sitting in one spot too long.
I'm glad you liked them. I'm very new at this this myself so it's all a learning process. With my children I am unable to try all the things I see growers do (kinda gotta be discreet) but I found 1 that works.

.Live , love , grow.
