Well I've decided to go the paper-bag route. I've removed all the nugs from their stems and placed them in a brown paper bag to dry. They've been drying now for 7 days. The outsides of nugs are dry to the touch. I will eventually move them into a mason jar.
This grow segment isn't about medicinal as much as culinary, and I can choose to see any mite carcasses that survive the wash as extra nutrients I wasn't initially planning on.
I'm glad someone else gets this! I'm wondering what essential oils they may contribute? Probably just the ones they stole in the first place.
Here's an almost serious thought. I saw your pans of water and thought of new mite treatment - total submersion. If I invert the plant over a 32 gallon can and submerge the leaves for 30 min the plant should be fine, but mites/insects should drown. I would rest the pot/soil on rods across the top with plant hanging down. Think it would work?
Nice buds Hush
can you share a few more details?
was that after hanging for a while, or harvested and tight into the bag?
how often you open the bag and for how long?
I normally hang and then into big metal popcorn tins for a few days, then Jars.
seems to be one of the more precise things in a grow and one I haven't mastered yet.
I do good, but no where near mastering a nice not to dry flavorful nug, mmmmmm
Is it taboo to say sell that beast and get a fleet of single cob light engines like this being that you are a fluid grower. I think they are like 150 each...no affiliation I just love cobs.
Weekly Update: CBD Critical Cure (Day 53)
This plant loves this light. She may protest when I throw her into flower in another month. She'll be the next one in line behind Carn1:4, once the tent is scoured clean of the mite population.
What a beauty, eh? It's the light. I sure hope they still plan to treat me to that light we talked of last year. I still haven't contacted Dan, but I'm good no matter what. Hard to be unhappy with what I already have on hand. I'm simply blown away by the quality that grows in this closet.
You see I have some sort of spacial challenge going when I plant. I swear guys, I stood right over the pot and thought I had it centered until I stepped back later. lol! She got ten gallons of fresh soil under her on the 1st.
I'm tucking the tops under these monster fans to give the side colas time to catch up. Next week I'll start tying branches down to open her up and keep her low.
Yeah..... Super-quality meds growing here. I'm missing my CBD capsules. I hope that clone takes and I have a jumpstart on the next one. I'd like to take one of these down every month, to be honest, until I get a decent supply behind me to experiment with oils.
That's the wrap-up for the week. It's surprising how fast that week goes. I find myself thinking "It's Friday already?" Lol!
Thank you you all for stopping by. It's much more fun to grow cannabis when you get to share the joy with friends. I need to find something akin to honest-to-God food here soon. I've been moving steady now for many hours without pausing for sustenance. I'll be seeing you around the yards later.
Yes slick look.
Beautiful Sue. Well done.
Doesn't it just make your heart skip a beat Spookies? A thing of beauty. It took me back to my first grow...... Ahhhh......
