The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Ah! Welcome to the wonderful world of fluidity, SweetSue! My wife is a woman of lists and tasks and my "take life as it comes" attitude drives her crazy. lol There are things in the day that present themselves as "lists" in my head... Walk the dogs, feed the kid, feed myself, etc... But most everything else falls in the category of "as the need arises". Taking my days in bite sized chunks has done wonders for my stress levels and when you get rid of stress, good things can follow. Less physical/mental fatigue, happiness, contentedness... Life is too short to waste on worrying about the small stuff or to let the big stuff keep you down for the count.

Ah yes Lazarus, the fluid, unstructured life. I'm becoming more comfortable with it every day. There's a certain art to it. It surprised me initially, how hard I fought against it. All those years of training, I guess.

random stoner thoughts

I've been carrying boxes down to the dumpster for the daughter. It's significantly easier for her Callanetics-strong mother to run up and down the 40 steps for the six trips it took to empty the closet of all those boxes that haven't been opened in nine years.

Two quick hits on the vape pen before we head down with the last load, me with the last, and the heaviest box, and her with the last two trash bags of assorted things they decided to stop lugging around. They're preparing for their own move. All this "culling of the stuff" is getting me excited. Time for me to move too.

Down the stairs with the last load, chattering about listing the last of the things I'm hanging on to that I don't want to simply give away. The two hits are beginning to make the world look soft around the edges. We wander to the Dollar General after the dumpster drop and I get lost in a clearance bin I need nothing from. Back home and up the stairs for the last time tonight. Through the door and I'm taking the next inhallation from the vape pen as I slip out of the shoes. :laughtwo:

How spoiled am I? Damn, I never realized how good it could be.

As I'm taking that hit I'm noticing a pronounced odor coming from the bathroom. Two days after her CAT, Carn1:3 is stinking up a storm. :laughtwo:

Time for another cup of coffee and an evening of study. Trying to learn all I can about anandamide so I can move on to 2-AG. One component at a time, and before you know it I'll really understand what I'm talking about with the ECS. :slide:

But first, some Carnival to grease the wheels. :cheesygrinsmiley:

Life is sweet. :battingeyelashes:

Hello guys. Nice to see you both out and about. 36, been a long time. You considering another journal at some point?

Jacob.... Life should be in a sweet stream for you by now. Mine's picking up speed as I go.

Thanks..... :passitleft:

Coffee...... I know I had a cup..... There it is. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I finally got myself stoned, not that I was looking for it.

I mixed 1/4 cup powdered MJ leaf into a pound of ground meat, cooked it up, and made chili out of it, Two cups of the chili, and a couple hours later, and for well over 5 hours later, had a head spin that would not quit!

I wasted a whole afternoon, evening, and all night sleeping it off, as I ate it around 3 PM. I'll eat the leftovers a couple hours before bedtime. Will probably add rice to it to reduce the dose per serving. Future recipes will have 1/8 cup.

I'm surprised I don't get high off my capsules, or the OOC I made.

OK, you got me really curious here. First thought was, how much fat content in the ground meat? What other seasoning ingredients did you add to the chili? I'm thinking something in the seasonings had a terpene that may have potentiated the cannabinoids.

Was this sugar leaves? Any guesses on weight of that 1/4 cup? Was the leaf matter decarbed in advance, and if so, how long and at what temp? How long did you cook the chili? A low simmer in cast iron? Just guessing with the cast iron. All of my chili gets cooked in cast iron. Old habits die hard, and it ramps up the flavor.

I did say you had me curious, didn't I? :laughtwo:

Your capsules and oil probably aren't giving you the same volume dose.

Hey Sue! Glad to see that you are keeping life moving in that positive direction with such great motivation that I have always loved about you. Carn 1:3 is looking nice! That's definitely on my list of strains I need to explore.

You and I are in the same exact boat when it comes to trimming up our girls like Doc tells us to. I want to follow the directions of the master, but I just can't seem to bring myself to take them down to 4-6 nodes. Maybe once I can scale up a bit. For now I think I have made it to 6 nodes and the main cola.

Have you had luck with watering twice between drenches? I am thinking it was just what the grow needed over this way.

I sent you a PM, just a little chit chat about this and that.

Brix, I'd have to say the two waterings between is making a difference. This is Carn1:4 today.

I'm seeing much happier growth going on since I got serious about two plain waterings between drenches. I've been more consistent with the Brix foliars too.

I'm actually learning as I go. Lol! There's great hope for me with new soil. :battingeyelashes:

The foliars! I was terrible with the foliars, but I am getting better. I am doing pretty good right now. I am making the extra effort to try and be a better kit grower. I am seeing improvements. Still plenty of room though.

I hear ya Brix. Lol! I keep plugging away and improving as I go. Having soil that got screwed up didn't help much, but again, improvement. If I can't make this next batch of soil produce the way it should I'll give hydro a try next. Rifleman has me so tempted with those DDAs he grows.

Rifleman's DDAs do look amazing. I am always envious when I get a peek of them. Tead and I actually talked about hempy and he really feels like hempy is a great option for you. I know he is excited to see you give it a whirl.

I must have missed your soil getting botched, what happened if you don't mind rehashing it?

The fat content of the ground mat was 7%, the leanest I can get here.
I add Garlic powder, Celery salt, chopped onions. No chili powder, as I dont like it.
A cup of ketsup, since I didn't have any spaghetti sauce.

I did not decarb the powder, as I planned to use it as a cooking herb.
I mixed the herb in with the ground meat, and cooked it in a wok till it was crumbly. Then stirred in the canned mushrooms, diced tomatoes, and corn, let cook together for about 5 minutes, then added the ketsup. All was don in the wok, over a gas stove.

There was nothing special here, just added powdered, aged, cannibus leaves, probably contains some trim and buds, don't remember, but mostly leaves. So maybe naturally decarbed by time? The powder is at least 3 months old, maybe 4. A really long cure.

I misjudged how powerful dried leaves can be. And I'm not a frequent user, so now I know I have to ramp the amount of herb down about half when I cook and try again.

If you used dried leaves FROM THE BOTTOM of the jar, that you had used leaves from before. It is possible you had a lot of kief (broken off trichomes) at the bottom of the jar. This would give you more trichomes (more potency!) than you would find in the same amount of fresh trimmed leaves, Unlike potato chips, the crumbly stuff at the bottom of a bag of weed can be the best part :)

I like this theory. I believe this may have played a part, but it's more likely, in my mind that it's been naturally decarbing and has, indeed, increased in potency. One of the surprises Gigi found with her naturally decarbed oils was the dramatic increase in potency after three or four months. I can't see why something like this curing process wouldn't be going on with the trichomes curing on plant material.

Graytail's always commenting on the increased potency of some jar secured from the back reaches of his stash. MagicJim was recently commenting on how much more potent his long-term produce was, now that he's been at it for a year and had some that cured that long.

Longer cure = increased potency. We just let ourselves get desperate and/or playful and chew right through the harvest. I'm feeling my way to greater yields that I can leave to cure longer than a month or two. :laughtwo:

ive just made some seaweed fertilizer , i am going to use that for foliar feeding , i looked into it and its meant to help with pests along with feeding over 60 minerals , and also brilliant for stressed plants :)

i added to my thread below if you fancy a nosy , very simple to do and will be FREE nutes and 100 ORGANIC :thumb:

Well...... I didn't follow instructions. I know, big surprise, huh? :laughtwo: I neglected to study up enough in the beginning and as a result I overloaded the soil. I wasn't using two plain waterings in between drenches. Then I further complicated it by doing a couple emergency tear-down's and didn't protect the integrity of the soil batch. I also neglected to add amendment in one of the reclaiming passes between grows.

Make enough missteps and the dance goes chaotic. You end up putting the soil at a disadvantage.

This time I'll follow instructions and pay attention. The Carn1:4 clone that went into flowering last week was my attempt to adjust on the run from the beginning of the plant. She's holding her own, and beginning to show improvement. Now she has mites. :laughtwo: Never dull around here, is it? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:
