The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Never a dull moment, but it's a learning process! That's what makes it fun. Plus with the kit you still get top quality herb and decent yield even when you screw the pooch!

I like this theory. I believe this may have played a part, but it's more likely, in my mind that it's been naturally decarbing and has, indeed, increased in potency. One of the surprises Gigi found with her naturally decarbed oils was the dramatic increase in potency after three or four months. I can't see why something like this curing process wouldn't be going on with the trichomes curing on plant material.

Graytail's always commenting on the increased potency of some jar secured from the back reaches of his stash. MagicJim was recently commenting on how much more potent his long-term produce was, now that he's been at it for a year and had some that cured that long.

Longer cure = increased potency. We just let ourselves get desperate and/or playful and chew right through the harvest. I'm feeling my way to greater yields that I can leave them to cure longer than a month or two. :laughtwo:

Hi Rado and Sue,

I have found this theory to be true as well from personal experience.....my buds fly out of my house and are consumed by a 20 something crowd ....but my sugar leaves marinate in their mason jars for months....I tend to give my patients 6 months of meds in advance....every single one of them says that as they smoke them over time, the better the cannabis gets.....when I give them the last 6 months of the year, of the leaves that are already 6 months cured; I become a rock star.....Doc Bud has claimed the same.....he is notorious for stockpiling some of his strains and bringing it out for special occasions.....

That is the beauty of the ability to grow a ton of plants in order to let it cure long and slow.....

Weekly Update: Carn1:4 (Day 99, Flip + 15)

Good evening everyone. :hugs:  Let's get the party started, shall we?

Carn1:4 burst out in blossoms just yesterday. :cheesygrinsmiley: The new soil won't be ready for another week, so her Recharge topping will be a bit delayed. I'm not worried. She'll be in full bloom while I'm in Paradise, and no trouble for the daughter to take care of at all.

She had a drench of just water on Tuesday, got a nice trim on Wednesday and a Brix foliar yesterday.

IMG_35739.JPG

Her new growth is looking pretty solid. The mites are staying within controllable numbers, at least for now. I'm snatching any leaf with obvious signs. It's beginning to feel like mites are here to stay.

IMG_357417.JPG

This is a pretty good approximation of her true color. All-in-all, I'm pleased with how this one's going.

Couldn't resist another shot. Gosh, she's pretty, isn't she? :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Weekly Update: The Clone Shelf, Friday, January 20, 2017

Isn't that the most beautiful sight? :slide: It intrigues me how different the soil has them looking. They're different phenome expressions, but the color variation is amazing. on the right is Carn1:3 (Day 102, Flip + 40, CAT + 3), and the Carn 2 clones 2,3, and 4 are on the left (Day 87).

IMG_359514.JPG

They're starting to bulk up the colas now. The pistils are popping out like mad, and very little fade has begun. They got plain water on Tuesday and nothing else.

I cleaned up the yellowing leaves a bit. I try to let them go until they fall off with the lightest tug.

IMG_360210.JPG

Carn1:3 (Day 102, Flip + 40, CAT + 3) She's coming back real strong. I'm seeing the value of the two plain waterings between drenches. I have to laugh that over two years into the game I still have to remind myself that with cannabis less is more. :laughtwo:

She had a Brix foliar yesterday. I'm still running too far between with the foliars. I'll keep better tabs from here on out.

Weekly Update: Candy Cane Auto (Day 47)

I'm so impressed with the sheer vigor of this plant! She screams health.

Did a little supercropping on the two tallest branches. I need to keep her somewhat under control. I also would like the rest of the branches to level out into a flatter canopy. A couple more days and I'll be able to start pulling her open from the center. She's tight and close.

IMG_361619.JPG

IMG_361713.JPG

IMG_361819.JPG

This one's a new one for me, and I'm hoping she smokes well. It's nice having the variety, even if it is an indica, although I'm finding that as long as I have Carnival or DDA on hand everything else sits and waits. I'll have to figure out the best use for the bits and pieces. Maybe pot luck brownies.

Breeder timeline says 7 weeks, or 49 days. I don't see that happening. :laughtwo: She's showing no signs of flowering yet. The dance continues.

The Tiny Closet: Friday January 20, 2017

It warms my heart to glance into the open closet. What a happy group of girls.

IMG_361914.JPG

DDA5 (Day 68) She's chugging away into the harvest window. The trichomes have begun to flush cloudy and the fans are beginning to turn. Just a few more days to go. :woohoo: She got plain water today.

CBD Critical Cure (Day 39) I'll be topping her to,or row, and I do believe I'll clone that top, get a head start on the next one. I need to learn to get ahead of this strain. I'm already feeling the lack of my own capsules, in subtle ways. I'll be glad to get back on track with the healing of my own ECS. In the meantime I'm learning to bolster the system without cannabis., and that appears to be working out well. I may be onto something here.

IMG_362713.JPG

Shes just begging to be topped. She's at 12" right now, the perfect height and the perfect stretch for the cut. Tomorrow morning I'll get some aloe going for the Rapid Rooters. As long as I'm cloning I might as well get the one from Emerald too.

IMG_362815.JPG

IMG_362917.JPG

Carn2:1 Emerald (Day 87) I tied down the apical tip yesterday to level out the canopy. I'll be flipping her in another week. I want a little more growth before then, but I couldn't be more pleased with how she's progressing. This is like my miracle baby. :laughtwo:

She's been getting the full force of the nutrients, and that's at the transition to bloom stage, which is 2 tsp of each component per gallon, with a tsp of CaliMagic. She's been wonderfully responsive to getting enough to eat. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I couldn't be happier with her. She's tempting me to stick with at least one hempy for a while. It'll give me something different to play with.

That's the nickle tour guys. Thank you so much for stopping by and appreciating the efforts. Ive been so lost in study lately that I've forgotten I had a garden to tend to, so thank goodness they're so forgiving and thrive on occasional neglect. Lol! Continue on with the joyful day. It's the weekend people! Let's crank it up a bit, why not? I'm thinking I need another brownie half as I slip into wandering mode. I'm forcing myself to step away from study mode for the next two days.

Wish me luck. I'm a hard one to stop. Lol!

The brownie won out. :cheesygrinsmiley:

It took me a while to clue in that it was your Emerald hempy I was looking at. Great job. What do you credit the turnaround to?

The last three comments on Candy Cane Auto on CKS site:

Hobby420
01/19/17 03:snooze:05 AM Says : I purchased Candy Cane (CC) with Early Miss (EM) and Train Wreck (TW) to test out an Autoflowers run. As it turned out, the Candy Cane did not Auto. I got 100 germination from the CC seeds and have lovely plants but as the EM and TW are finishing, the CC are still in veg. EM & TW are in week 7 and it is looking like they will finish at week 8 and/or 9.

01/18/17 04:59:39 PM Says : I got some cc in November and it turns out they were not autos. Talked to the crop king customer service and they will be sending me new seeds tomorrow. Awesome customer service cks!! Thank you and you made a customer for life!

01/15/17 06:showboating:30 PM Says : Received candy cane from the last round of seeds along with many other growers. Everybody's grow is the same they didn't turn out to be autos just femanized photos. Very nice plants though. Just so everyone knows they will have to be treated as photos not autos

So I guess you could get replacement seeds. Their ruderalis must have been shooting blanks.

Beautiful girls you have there!

Kush Girl keeping it green from seed. New babies (growing from seed)

Why thank you Kush Girl. I start out with a bit of trepidation and then they surprise me. They are behaving nicely these days. I've been getting better at remembering to feed and water. That all appreciate that. :laughtwo:

:laughtwo: The Devil is a feisty one. Lol!

I attribute the turnaround to my deciding to read the label on the nutrients bottle and work her up to full strength. Then I listened to lexort (where is he? ). He recommended the CaliMagic. BINGO! Who knew that paying attention could have such benefits? :laughtwo:

Shiggity changed my entire mindset with his meditation for the gardens. I realized I'd stopped looking at them with only unconditional love and joyful expectation. It was the linchpin that stopped me from continuing to stumble along.

All of you have contributed, in your own ways. I'm a reflection of the site, the garden is a reflection of my emotional tone.

:hugs:

I'll let them know, for their records, but they were prize seeds. I'm good with a hearty feminized photo. That increases my possibilities. Now..... Do I top her, or just try to contain that brute of an apical cola?

IMG_364513.JPG

She's tied down pretty good. This means I have time to spread the branches open. Oh Jim... this is great news. :slide: She'll fit right into the timelines. Hmmmm...... a little rethink is in order. :hmmmm:

Wow Sue, that looks amazing. A plant that looks as good as a cookie while I don't like vegitables...

Sent from my SM-G920F using 420 Magazine Mobile App

The DDAs are the tastiest strain I've grown to date. I haven't tried baked buds lately, but the brownies are incredible. Somewhere is another recipe they'll be great for.

Joy, my friends. Greet the day with it and it becomes your default emotional tone all on its own. Then you can't contain it. I'm going for a walk. Maybe treat myself to some finger food. Maybe just walk. I'm feeling loving and it's still gorgeous out there. Later.

:ciao:

Just saying hi Sue.

I'm a really happy person, but you make me even happier. Stay happy!

Peace, Hyena

Nice colors play in your garden Sue, it surely looks great under that natural light! I should get some purple strains just for the looks :) Thank you for sharing, have a great day! :Namaste:

Oh Sue look how your garden grows
The more I learn and the more I understand about growing the more excited I get This is the best therapy I have ever had! Talking to therapist about my anxiety and all they want to do is give me a different antidepressant a different pill and I feel that cannabis treats my anxiety and fibromyalgia better than any medicine that any Dr. could come up with! I love seeing plants that are happy and your plants are happy happy!

And I love hearing glowing testimonials to the curative powers of cannabis like that Kush Girl. :hugs:  Growing cannabis was the best grief therapy I could have asked for. The growing is almost as therapeutic as consumption. :laughtwo:

Hey Sweet Sue emerald is looking great! Glad to see she turned around for ya!

There you are! :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

Feeling better? You saved this plant mister. That deserves another hug. :hugs::hugs::hugs: She's been responsive, to say the least. :laughtwo: I'll be flipping her sometime in the next two weeks. It's unfortunate that all of my grow spaces have a touch of mites, but I think this one may be the healthiest of them all right now. Lol!

Wait until she blooms lexort. Tomorrow I'll be taking a clone from her. :slide: I'll have to start another hempy pot for that clone. I'm enjoying the hempys now. :cheesygrinsmiley:

That Timber Vero is an amazing light, and those DDAs show up so sweetly under it. They come out inkier under this panel than my other lights, another reason the DDAs grow in the closet instead on in one of the tents. I warn you, growing the purple strains is addictive. Lol!

Hmmmm.... I haven't heard from them in a while. Wonder what happened with that new light? I'll have to look into that after paradise.

if it is from Timber send Them quick an e-mail. Dan responded within 24 hrs to me every time when I was doing DIY. I was impressed with the customer support.

Just stopped to say I am happy about your hempy, and all that good stuff. Cheers.

My wife also has Fibromyalgia. She is off all her prescription medications for a couple of years now. (She was pretty much forced into alternative meds due to liver problems caused by the pharmaceuticals.) Along with Cannabis, she does Omega-3 supplements, Curcumarin w/pepperine, pro-biotics, and a couple of other things SweetSue mentions in her 'Supporting your ECS' thread.

It works! So do daily foot and ankle rubs :)
