The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Your cookies look great! I showed my wife and she made sure we book marked that for later. We are visiting some friends next weekend I hope I can talk her into making them :)

Happy your couch experience went well, even happier to know there was some good young kids with respect willing to help.

Now before I forget let me pass this over :passitleft:

Re: The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Returns

Thanks for that Sue...i didn't realize, i'm sorry for your family to have to go thru that. Unfortunately cancer has played a major role in my life too , with the death's of both parents to it , and of course Max and Duggan! Try and stay grounded with calmness but with resolve, you can still feel emotion while with them , just remember , they need you now! Hope your day goes better ....:Namaste::hugs:

Thank you Duggan. It was rewarding, but emotionally draining. Having just lost Dale I identified so strongly with him and he picked up on that as soon as I introduced myself. He had a desperate need to be heard, to speak of his loss right out loud and I was the ear that sat with him most of the day. It was my choice to be there for him and we spent the day, him talking and me crying while I listened. Haven't really stopped crying yet. I'll be ok by morning.

Sue,

It sounds like a long day for you. I will be thinking about you as the day goes by.

Thank you my dear friend. You had me smiling in the middle of it, reading of your BioBomb capsule adventure. Thank you for that too. :hugs:

Ah, right on time RheinRover. :passitleft:

Hello darlin...
Nice to see you...
It's been a long tiiiiiimmmeee

Good afternoon my favorite Sue.

Have some hugs to take with you

:hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs::hugs:

Here's a link to Willie on my Spot thread my favorite Noob. You inspired me to track it down, so I thought I'd let you enjoy it too.

Willie

You adorable creature. Poetry wil get you big points. :battingeyelashes:

I have pictures loaded in, so let me get the update posted.

I know you love your companion plants but I'm so glad you've decided to trim that clover a bit. It has to be a little bit of a competitor for the roots.

Daily Update: Saturday, August 20, 2016

The light watering of the hempy DDA was the only activity in my garden today. Let's see what they looked like in the brief time I spent there. Starting with the auto tent.

image16142.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto(Day 61) She's smelling noticably sweeter every day, and showing no pistil change that I can see. If I can get this one to 80+ days I may get an ounce out of her. Remember me, the eternal optimist? :laughtwo: Nice color change going on with the fans, eh?

image16143.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto 2 (Day 7) Can you see it? She's starting to do something!

image16144.jpeg

Dare I hope? :laughtwo: This one has a strong energy.

Next door, in the kit tent, the Carnival twins are now at Day 25.

image16148.jpeg

#2 She's ready for the next topping. I got home too late and too drained to try today, so I'll probably do that tomorrow, before I lose the window of opportunity.

The Med GOM 1.0 (Day 63) Just days before harvest. This plant's destined for capsules. I just need to decide if it'll be an olive oil extraction or a concentrated oil. I'm leaning towards the olive oil. If I get enough from her I may do both. I have a friend who's a big ball of pain, and I'm compelled to help him find some relief. This plant offers the best option from my garden for inflammatory pain, in my opinion.

Pod heard that the CBD strains didn't give much oil. I think she wants to prove them wrong. :laughtwo:

I only have enough BioBomb capsules to get through the next five days, so it's time to make more oil. I don't have an ounce of any one strain, so I cobbled together a mix of everything I had on hand that wasn't indica in nature to come up with an ounce. It's been decarbed. I'm getting ready to chop it up and toss it in the freezer with the solvent. Either tomorrow or Monday I'll get another batch done and whip up more 5:1 capsules.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks so much for the caring thoughts. I'm gonna get righteously buzzed, listen to some sappy love songs and mellow out for a while. Maybe I'll wander while I'm at it. There're some friends who's company I'm missing.

Even with all the sorrow, there were brilliant and sparkly moments of joy through my day and out into my family. I come from one of those solid families that celebrate passings. It always makes me proud to watch them come together for funerals and spend the afternoon laughing uproariously. :laughtwo:

You're good neighbors. I'm glad you're mine.

I think you might be right, and I should pay closer attention to humidity levels. :laughtwo: It's one of my challenge areas. Sooner or later I'm gonna get serious and dial the environment in properly.

With the overflow in the hempy tray and the SWICK sitting under the no-till you'd think humidity would be up, wouldn't you? I wish.

wow sweet that med looks tasty and the dd is a little beauty 1 big nug looks so good amongst the clover there.

if your looking to up your humidity levels just mist the sides of your tent with clean rainwater thats if your the sweet sue sort that i know cant resist checking up on her girls at least twice a day haha

By the way Sweet Sue I took my first dose of your oil I made last night. Two at four a.m. and about to try another. I have been a smoker of the herb for 49 years and this is my first oil. Waiting...... I deal with deep pain in lower back, have since I left the Army in 1973. Like most people I have good and bad days. I must say following you and some others on 420 I have gained so much knowledge and lQQk forward to some relief. Good Morning to all:high-five:

I never thought to try something like this photos. Interesting idea. My biggest challenge to increasing humidity levels is heat. I vent directly into the room. There's no way at all to vent outdoors in this apartment. That means the only way I can keep heat at least marginally under control - and you see I've not been entirely successful in this respect - is to leave the tent flaps open at the top to let heat build-up escape back into the already overheated room. Even with the air conditioners running non-stop I'm dealing with too much heat. If I close the tents up to regulate humidity I'm going to cook the plants.

By spraying water on the inside of the tent, would that not cause mold? You may try a wick bath to add to your RH. Now I'm no expert, just adding my two cents......:volcano-smiley:

Good point Rooster. Could you elaborate on the wick bath????

First off, I can't tell you how thrilled I get every time another member tries oil for the first time. May I ask, which recipe did you use and how effective was it against your pain? I've a dear friend that I'm attempting to help, and he's also a veteran with enough injuries to be a ball of pain 24/7. He's going to be my biggest challenge so far, with so many different kinds of pain to deal with. I'm playing with the idea of capsules made with the Med GOM 1.0. She'll be harvested anytime now and I'm pretty sure she'll give me a decent oil pull. The strain works almost like magic on my own pain and on my daughter's pain, so I'm banking on it being effective for him as well.

The daughter and I are both on a regimine of four to five capsules a day of an olive oil extraction of a 1:1 strain that appears to be completely eliminating the various aches and pains we both deal with. Neither of us anticipated this. Neither of us has needed to vape the Med GOM 1.0 for breakthrough pain in quite a while now. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the fact that we can get this level of relief from so many symptoms with such a simple method and without getting high - a chief concern for my daughter.

You know Rooster, according to most of the "medical professionals" I've been studying with we shouldn't be having this kind of success with capsules. Hahaha! They're going to have to catch up with us.

Don't mind if I do Rooster. :bigtoke:

I never thought to leave a hoot behind when I clear out a double post. :laughtwo:

Good morning everyone . I survived. I'm tired, and I believe I'll take a lazy day today and completely recover, because I feel like someone wrung me out. Hmmmm.... a good indicator that this is my Callanetics day. Good, that'll set me straight.

Yesterday sprung itself on me unexpected. I'd lost track of the family discussion about my cousin's memorial, probably because in the back of my mind I knew it'd be painful and I wanted to avoid it. But my brother called and asked if I was going. Obviously the universe knew he needed me to be there, so I'm thankful it worked out the way it did.

I'm gonna jump in the shower now and get this day rolling. Thank you all for caring. You don't know how much difference it makes when the air gets thick from loneliness.

A very good morning to you Rooster...like your handle bud! I wanna take a couple minutes to offer up a big warm welcome to the "mag" and just let you know how lucky you are to have found us ,...and especially SS. As you can see by her credentials she is very well respected here and has so very much to offer newer members. All, that's right...ALL these members around these parts are very experienced and accomplished growers who have a lot of very good info and advise to give. They will , at every turn in the road and will NOT hesitate to go out of their way to do so. The most special part of them is not their growing skills or their willingness to help....but is there genuineness and integrity as people. You will see this if you stay. May i suggest doing some reading of other DBHBB users journals and Doc Buds . Please Rooster , we only ask very little of you ....please leave your EGO at the door , smile when entering our journals and bring a good attitude in with you...if you do this you will be amazed at how you will be received at treated. Have an awesome day Rooster ...cheers to ya ......my brotha!:Namaste::circle-of-love:

I mist my youngsters as often as I remember, many times a day. And I also use a humidifyer in the VegNook when it's below 45% humidity. I mist them until the bud sites start actually having little buds with white pistils.

This misting thing, I can do that. I have one of those glorious sprayers that make a fine, fine mist and you can spray turned upside down. I use it for foliars with the kit girls. Thanks witchy. :battingeyelashes:

Good afternoon Sue,

I was wondering if you or anybody else on this glorious thread had any information about using MMJ to ease with knee pains, diabetes, and/or transitioning a patient from tobacco to MMJ?

Thanks in advance!

Pre-Med:Namaste:

Assuming the knee pain is orthopedic in nature (joint pain) you'd be well advised to go with a strain that has a 1:1 ratio of CBD:THC. Knee pain is notoriously difficult to bear, so I might consider something in a 2:1. The increase in CBD should help relieve the inflammation going on. If you're going to grow your own there are some really good autos beginning to hit the market now with higher CBD values, so you can potentially get a quick harvest in.

I haven't yet researched diabetes. This is what killed my husband and I've been reluctant to go there yet, because I know it's going to piss me off to find out how easy it would have been to heal him years ago and avoid the 20 year run to keep him alive.

I do recall Rick Simpson saying that patients of his using the oil had cured themselves of diabetes within weeks of being on the oil, but I don't recall what the protocol was. I'll go looking later tonight and see what I can find and post that here.

Tobacco cessation is a new one on me. Nicotine is one of the most addictive substances on the planet, but cannabis is one of the most effective healing herbs we can access, so you never know. I'll look into that as well and report back.

You have no idea how happy it makes me to have these questions to answer. More info to track down and share and one more opportunity to legitimize our obsession with cannabis. :battingeyelashes:

Susan....oh Susan.....you gonna drop # 20,000 at my place...are ya , are ya , eh....eh...eh!:adore::adore::adore::slide::tokin:

Already done Duggan. :circle-of-love:

premed,

I did use cannabis to quit tobacco around 2000. Basically I upped the cannabis. It helped some the first three days. After the withdrawal symptoms diminished, when I would get an urge to light one up because I got a whiff of one, the evil weed stopped me from having 'just one' several times. That still holds true once or twice a year.

I stopped for a few years in the seventies. It was not much of a problem. The 2000 experience was real torture. The tobacco companies were still denying any problem. At the same time they were adding undisclosed compounds that were addicting themselves. (JMHO) I think the tobacco settlements have changed some practices of the providers. The stopping its' self may not be as hard as it has been in the past.

Cannabis does not diminish the addictive effects of tobacco much from my experience. It does help with cutting back and tolerating the withdrawal.

Best
