The Perpetual Healing Garden - SweetSue's Joyful Return

Daily Update: Thursday, August 18, 2016

Let's see how they're getting on. Starting in the auto tent.......

The Advanced LED panel in here has developed a glitch that may have been going on for quite a while. One of the power supplies for the COBs has malfunctioned, causing the one section to begin sporadically blinking on and off. Because it's closed up in the tent I wasn't aware that it was happening until very recently. The team at Advanced are sending me a replacement part. Let's hope it's an easy fix. I should have the new part by early next week and I'm assured it's a simple unplug the old and plug in the new.

DDA2 (Day 5) She got drenched with 1/2 tsp per gallon nutrients. Not much of anything going on yet. I didn't get her sprayed with anything yet. It was an incredibly packed day, so that'll have to wait until tomorrow.

image16064.jpeg

Dark Devil Auto (Day 59) She's a fat little thing. No sign of any pistil change yet.

image16065.jpeg

She reminds me so much of the first one I grew. I remember that one as being wonderfully potent. :battingeyelashes: :green_heart:

Yeah..... I see that.

I had the Carnival twins out for pictures today. They're now at Day 23.

Around the corner in the tiny closet, the Med GOM 1.0 (Day 61) has just a few more days to go. Sometime in the next week or so she'll be mature enough to take. I checked the trichomes last night and she's still all clear.

I'm pretty sure I'm looking at a couple ounces dry here. Those colas are rock-hard, packed tight.

And that's it for today guys. I'm getting excited about the Carnival twins. :slide: Before we know it they'll be heading into flowering. We have quite a ways to go before then. i stuck my head in the tent earlier and asked which one wanted to end up a POTM. :laughtwo:

I hope your day was filled with delightful moments of joyful expression. I'm having a really sweet run of days lately. Making new friends, getting some important posts done at long last. I signed up for a new course today on preventing and treating Alzheimer's with small doses of cannabis. That means I have three courses purchased, just waiting for me to get to them.

I keep forgetting to mention that Green Flower Media, the site I've been taking courses from, has designed a program whereby I can gift the courses I take to another person. It's a BOGO situation. In order to gift a course I'd need to get an email address of the person I'd be sending it to. I can only gift one copy of each course to someone else, so it's first-come-first-served. If you're interested, please PM me and I can make arrangements.

The courses I have available to gift are:

If you're interested in a course, let me know and we can make arrangements.

For the fun, I am growing it out, indeedy. :geek:

I got 2 clones that look exactly like that. I took them from the auto lemon before I knew you couldnt clone autos. i just let them grow to see what they would do

Here I will fix that later......

I was replacing diodes but the unpluging of drivers is also in there. There is also links to some videos of same. I am sure some searching can find more.

:laughtwo: Someone should start a thread, "My smallest cannabis plant" or something along those lines. Lol! I have a couple that would be good candidates.

Cheers millertm, and thanks for the compliments. I seem to be making it a habit to get going and then screeching to a halt. I'm getting ready to do the same thing to accommodate vacation plans in paradise in the middle of the coldest point of our winter season. Once again I'll get to demonstrate how easy it can be to break down and try again. I'm beginning to suspect I may not be a good candidate for perpetual gardening. laugh2:

Sorry to hear about your lamp. Good thing you have a few extras :yahoo:

Your topless carnivals are looking lovely as well. I always love those top shots you take, I remember a few grows back you had some really great symmetry as well.

Yes indeed RheinRover, it's nice to have backups. :cheesygrinsmiley: That contest came in real handy. The unit isn't blinking constantly, so I've left it in place. It's just that it'll go a little spastic every now and then and begin blinking for an extended time and then it won't do that again for hours. It was nice to get such a quick response to the problem. Good customer service is a valued commodity in the crowded LED field.

I'm a one-shot and move on photographer, using the cameras in my iPhone or iPad for all of it. I love sitting and watching my daughter, the acknowledged photographer in our family, scroll through my posts and shake her head in appreciation for my shots. She taught me well. One of her best pieces of advice was that every shot can benefit from a little editing.

YOu will be fine to fix it yourself Sue... so many times with hubby.... you know more than you think :circle-of-love:

Thank you for that reminder Dear. You're right, working by his side for 35 years I had to have retained more than I realize I did.

Good morning Susan....hope your day is filled with all the joy you give!:Namaste::thumb:

Duggan....... That has to be the sweetest thing you've ever said to me. :hugs:  You have a wonderful day yourself. I see you out there spreading joy all over the site. Well done buckaroo. :high-five:

You are such a dear. :hugs::hugs::hugs: Being able to watch someone do it is so helpful to someone doing this for the first time. I'll document thoroughly, as I'm sure you all expect.

Awwww...... One more hug for the road keltic. :hugs:

Him listening to the course on Alzheimer's and Cannabis and I stopped to rant about it. Then, after typing in a page of rambling none sense I inadvertently hit "Cancel". :laughtwo:

It's one of the rules of self-control that when you write out the rant you dump it all in there....... and hit delete, or tear it up, or burn it. I almost broke the rule about keeping it to myself. It's nice when that guardian angel of mine leans forward and saves me from my own craziness.

Ten minutes left in the class. Going back in! :ciao:

I'm not sure they are going for the smallest plant per say but when I was doing strain research on another site, I saw where they were doing a competition on growing in yogurt cups. Made me think of Rifleman's shot glass baby.

Good evening everyone.

Had to help the daughter move a couch to the dumpster. Down two flights of tight, steep stairways. Good grief, it's a good thing I do Callanetics. Thankfully, we opened the door to the front of the building just as a bunch of youngsters was coming by on their way home from swimming, so they took the couch from us and carried it back to the dumpster. We smiled all th way back up those 40 stairs at the generosity of the universe. Timing is everything.

I haven't seen it yet.. not worth it?

Absolutely worth it, although there's nothing in there about whether there's any concern about too much cannabis causing disease progression, which was one of the points I was looking for in particular. I'll have to email Dr. Smith and ask dieprectly. This class'll make a good thread all its own. I'll be working on that now, setting the other class materials aside for now.

Delightful! It tickles me that we pamper the obvious genetic freaks just as much as we do the blooming beauties that'll be rewarding us with ounces of meds. It must be because as social "problem children" we have a strong identity with the underdog. Maybe it's because as stoners we feel the cosmic connection. Whatever it is I find it fascinating that so many of us will essentially waste resources on plants that'll never live up to potential.

I'm starting one, too! . .

It looks like yours will exceed mouser's in growth. Good luck with her. :battingeyelashes:

I need a good luck kitty. I have two live cats. Just gotta search for the perfect garden gnome- like cat. I love a treasure hunt. :geek:

I look forward to seeing what you turn up. nYC must be quite a treasure trove for the obscure decorative piece.

And your good luck kitty won't eat the tops off your clones!

:laughtwo: Well, there's that too. Lol!

I took some time today to make those lavender cookies I keep talking about. Recipe to follow.

image673.png

Lavender Cookies

In a blender, on low speed, combine 2 eggs and between 40-80 lavender leaves. Blend until the leaves are finely chopped. The more leaves the more pronounced the "cinnamon" taste.

Cream together 1/2 cup butter (think cannabutter :battingeyelashes:) and 1 cup sugar. After it's nice and creamy add the egg mixture and blend well.

image16105.jpeg

image16106.jpeg

Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Sift the flour mix into the wet ingredients and mix well.

image16107.jpeg

Drop by teaspoons onto an untreated cookie sheets. Give them lots of space, they like to spread out.

image16108.jpeg

Bake in the oven at 375*F for 10-12 minutes, or until they begin to brown on the edges.

image16109.jpeg

These cookies are slightly green in color from the leaves. The addition of cannabutter makes that tint just a tad darker. Delicious, melt-in-your-mouth buttery goodness, these are one of my favorite cookies. I didn't think about how difficult it'd be to stay away from them, made with cannabutter. I can't just eat them on a whim. I downed three before I remembered that little fact and I'm sailing through the upper reaches right now. :laughtwo: What a delightful buzz.

@SweetSue

For the first time, I'm trying the huge tank straight from the AeroGarden, where I germinate them. Hoping it will help her grow bigger. . .

I've been working on trying to improve my yields, testing different things.
